Children begin to create their first independent work at the age of about 2 years, gradually improving. Children at 2-4 years old begin to get acquainted with different types of creativity, one of them is application. What can be done for small children from paper and other materials will be discussed in this article.

What to make out of paper?

Application is a type of creative activity that develops special skills and abilities. Thanks to such work, children begin to form a horizons, they get to know the world around them.

The main raw material for appliqués is paper. However, there are many other materials for crafts. They can be made from pieces of fabric, natural materials, napkins, cotton pads, foil.

Young children do not yet know how to use scissors. This should be taken into account when choosing assignments for them. Crafts for kids should be simple and easy, so that the child enthusiastically takes up such work and is not distracted. It is not recommended to force you to do it if the child starts crying or being capricious. It is important that the session itself does not take too long. Its time should be about 15 minutes.

There are various techniques for making simple paper appliqués. Crumpled, torn and plain paper is used to create original paintings.

From mint

For children 2-3 years old, work without the use of scissors is more suitable, so they can be offered to make an applique out of crumpled paper... White or colored paper is used as a suitable material.Make sure that it is not too stiff, otherwise the child's fingers will not cope well with the preparation of the material for work.

To prepare it, you need:

  • take a sheet of paper in your hands, then crumple it well and smooth it out, giving its original appearance;
  • turn the sheet over and do the same work on the other side;
  • this procedure is done several times, and when the sheet becomes pliable and soft, then work begins on the creation of the applique.

You can follow a different technique and prepare the material for work in a different way. To do this, you need to take colored paper and cut strips from it. The child, crushing them, will make blanks in the form of balls.

Having finished with the preparation of the material, they start choosing a picture for the application. You can draw a picture yourself or use an image from a coloring book.

There is a certain algorithm of actions that allows you to make models from crumpled paper.

Progress:

  • take a sheet of paper as a base;
  • roll up balls;
  • glue them one by one to the base (you can also smear the base itself in advance, and stick the parts on the sheet).

Children's pens at this age are not yet very skillful, so it is better to use PVA glue or office glue with a brush to glue the elements.

Using this technique, you can make a beautiful picture in just a few minutes.

From ragged

Very unusual crafts can be made from torn paper. This application is not difficult, so the work is suitable for little kids. For such a craft, paper is used, which is torn into small pieces, but does not crumple it. The advantage of this technique is that the child is fully involved in the work process, shows interest. He does not need scissors, he himself will tear off small pieces from the paper and use them for a future picture.

The peculiarity of this technique is that each element does not need to be lubricated when gluing. It is enough to apply glue to the base completely or to a small part of it and apply pieces of paper. In this case, it is not at all necessary to try to completely fix the piece. Raised tips on the details will give the product an original look ("fluffy").

There are also combined options, where some of the elements are cut with scissors, and some are torn by hand.

Of the usual

From ordinary paper, kids will also be able to independently make simple and voluminous applications, crafts. From an early age, the child gradually begins to get acquainted with the basic colors, geometric shapes. Simple appliqués made of plain white or colored paper will help simplify memorization and make the learning process easier.

In the process of work, the child must select the necessary paper colors for the craft. Choosing shades, the child will memorize and memorize them. Children from 2 years old should know geometric shapes, voice them. You should start with simple elements in the form of a circle, square and rectangle.

The child, having mastered these figures, will begin to make simple crafts out of them in the form of a house, a small train, a boat or the sun. Children at this age are not always able to neatly cut out details, it is better for adults to help them with this.

Using the blanks, he will be able to make a simple applique in the form of a funny puppy.

For this you will need:

  • a sheet of white landscape paper;
  • a set of colored paper;
  • pencil;
  • scissors;
  • glue;
  • sample.

For such an applique, a pattern in the form of a circle will be used.

With it, 4 circles of the same size are cut out of brown colored paper. Two elements will be used for the puppy's head and torso. The remaining two parts are folded in half and cut. They are used to make tail, paws and ears.

Having laid out the details according to the drawing on the album sheet, they are glued to the base.

In a similar way, you can make a figurine of a bee or a kitten.

Crafts from cereals

To support the child's interest in classes, adults can suggest using non-standard elements as materials in the form of buttons, cotton swabs and discs, natural materials or fabric. One of the interesting options for crafts can be cereals and pasta.

Having made such an application with his own hands, the child will begin to improve and strive to create more complex crafts.

The finished product will be more colorful if you first paint the details for the applique with gouache.

The main materials for work are used:

  • colored paper, cardboard or coloring book;
  • glue;
  • glue brush;
  • plasticine;
  • cereals.

For crafts, you can use any cereal that can be found in the house. You can make a wide variety of applications, unusual paintings and bright panels from buckwheat, rice, millet or semolina.

The basis for such work can be ordinary coloring for children or simple thick sheets of paper or cardboard.

To make such a picture, you need:

  • take a piece of paper with a picture;
  • apply glue to individual elements;
  • sprinkle the details with cereals.

Using millet, children will be able to make a simple application in the form of a sun.

The work can be done in another way - by pressing cereals into plasticine. To do this, use a template filled with plasticine. The child will simply have to press the prepared grains into the material.

When choosing templates, you should give preference to drawings with minimums of small details. This will help the young child learn the technique faster. For simple templates, images of fruits or vegetables, a ball or sun, a fish or chicken are suitable.

In addition to cereals, you can also use pasta to create works. The shape of the pasta can be any. The most interesting models are obtained by choosing products of different shapes and sizes.

Like cereals, pasta can be dyed before starting work. For this you need:

  • take a container of water, add gouache (the consistency of the mixture should be in the form of thick sour cream);
  • so that the paint does not paint hands during work, PVA glue is added to the mixture;
  • the pasta is dipped into the prepared mass, taken out and laid out on a napkin to dry.

You can start working in a day. Pasta of different colors is best placed in separate containers and used as needed.

Even very young children will be able to create pasta appliques. From a year, they can already begin to master the basics, improving over time, creating unusual paintings.

Children aged 2–3 years will still need the help of adults, and children 4–5 years old will already do the work on their own.

To make a pasta product, you need:

  • take a sheet of paper;
  • draw the outline of the future image;
  • apply glue to the surface;
  • glue pasta (they must match the sample in size and color).

Such work helps to develop fine motor skills, teaches perseverance, promotes the development of creative skills, imagination.
