The applique is a simple, but interesting craft to make. Children are asked to master such things both in kindergarten and in the elementary grades of school. In this article, we will learn how to correctly make beautiful appliqués with the image of a charming squirrel.

Despite the fact that the applique is an extremely simple and easy-to-implement craft, the smallest craftsmen may have certain difficulties in making it. If the baby is still new to such a creative process and does not have the appropriate skills and abilities, he should start modeling with the simplest options.

An appliqué will be a very affordable option, for which geometric shapes are used. To make this simple but cute homemade product, you will need:

• pieces of colored paper;
• children's cardboard of different colors;
• glue and scissors;
• felt-tip pen or marker.

1. At the first stage, all the necessary details are prepared, which will make up a charming squirrel. Each element will be made in the form of some kind of geometric figure. The body and ears should be made triangular, the head, nose and eyes should be round, and the tail should be oval. Also, as a decoration, you can prepare one more detail - a small green bush.
2. All elements must be drawn on the back of colored paper of the corresponding colors. Then the template parts should be very carefully cut with scissors.At this stage, it is advisable for adults to be near to make sure that the child's actions are safe.
3. Then you should take the base in the form of a sheet of white cardboard or another color you like. It is advisable to first simply lay out all the components on it in order to think over their layout. After that, the template components can be glued to the PVA glue or glue stick.

1. You need to choose colored paper as the background. Blue will do.
2. Next, you need to use the finished image of a charming squirrel. It can be neatly transferred onto a plain white base using carbon paper. At the next stage, the blank of the animal will need to be carefully cut out strictly along the contour.
3. The cut out squirrel figurine is circled on an orange sheet of paper, and then carefully cut out with scissors. It is recommended to trace the animal using a pencil and placing the part on the back of the sheet.
4. Small parts will need to be cut out from the workpiece. We are talking about the muzzle, the middle of the ears, eyes, paws, nose, chest.
5. All the cut out components are outlined on colored paper, putting it on the contrary, and then cut out. All additional parts must be glued to the blank of the orange squirrel.
6. Now, from brown paper, you will need to cut a branch of a tree for a squirrel. This part is glued to the finished background, and after it the finished squirrel is fixed here. With a pencil, draw the outline of her tail.
7. Take an orange sheet of paper and half a sheet of white paper. The materials are folded several times to divide them into 8 equal rectangles.

5. The rest of the main components related to the structure of the squirrel will need to be glued onto the already prepared and fixed on the base of the body.
6. Now you should draw up the face of the animal. Don't forget about the squirrel's eyes. They can be made from white and black paper circles or drawn with a marker / felt-tip pen. In similar ways, it will be necessary to arrange the brushes on the ears of the paper animal.
7. From brown and black paper, it will be necessary to cut out the details from which the acorns will be formed. They will serve as an attractive decoration for the original children's applique.
