Making an application "Watermelon"
Appliques are one of the favorite types of children's needlework. Today we will tell you how to make watermelon-themed crafts from paper and other materials.
Cut-off application
Such crafts are created from regular and creped paper types. The basis of the application is most often coloring... The drawing can be downloaded and printed on a regular album sheet or cardboard.
Paper can be cut, but more often it is simply torn into small pieces. Then they are glued to the prepared and glued base. For the "Watermelon" applique, cut out black seeds and glue them in the middle. The work uses clerical or pencil glue.
As a basis, you can use not only coloring. A cutout circle, a cardboard semicircle, or a paper plate cut in half will work.... You can decorate the craft with real watermelon seeds.
To make the applique more interesting, more shades of colored paper are used in the work. Between the dark and light green strips of the peel, thin layers of black (brown) paper are glued.
The "sweet" part is created using paper in red, pink and pale greenish (white) shades.
How to make a watermelon wedge out of colored paper?
Watermelon wedges can be made in several ways. In kindergartens, children usually cut out circles of different diameters from paper in dark, light, pale green, red. Then they glue the smaller circles on top of each other.
After that, preschoolers draw watermelon seeds with a black felt-tip pen or cut them out of black paper, and then stick them onto the core. Then the applique is folded in half and folded. It turns out a beautiful and voluminous watermelon slice.
A flat craft can be made easier. To do this, it is enough to cut out several semicircles: 2 greens of different sizes, pink and red (pink should be larger than red). After preparation, all the elements are glued to the base, then the resulting slice is decorated with seeds.
You can make an applique in the form watermelon popsicle. To do this, cut out 2 semicircles: green (more) and red less. The red element is glued onto the green one, then the seeds are drawn and folded in half. Next, glue it by inserting a stick inside.
If the child loves to decorate the applique, different decorations can be used in the work. For example, after gluing the peel and core, the craft can be decorated with simple and curly buttons. Fittings of green color can be placed along the edge of the skin, black fittings are glued on a "sweet" background.
Volumetric option
Performing volumetric appliqués is often straightforward. For example, it can be done using the layering technique. Cut out an even number of green and red circles. The red ones are cut with a smaller diameter.
Then the red fragments are glued onto the green ones, smearing them with pencil glue. After that, the prepared circles are folded in half. The halves are coated with glue and glued one on top of the other.
It remains to draw the watermelon grains, straighten the craft and glue the back side to the cardboard. Optionally, the applique can be supplemented with a twisted green twig and a pair of leaves
... Nearby on the sheet, you can glue an ordinary flat slice.
A beautiful volumetric applique is obtained from paper balls. For its manufacture, cut crepe paper of the desired shades. It wrinkles well and is easy to work with. Children roll paper balls and then glue them onto a prepared picture.
You need to glue the balls close to each other. If you wish, you can decorate the craft with flat carved leaves. It is better to use office glue in your work.
Beautiful watermelon slices are made from paper folded like an accordion. To make them, first, red paper is glued onto green one. Then the seeds are drawn, and the paper is folded like an accordion. Then it is bent in half, forming a triangle or semicircle. The blank is glued to the paper base.
You can make a craft using strips of crepe paper.
To do this, they are cut to the entire length of the roll and cut along one edge. First, green stripes are glued to the base, then red ones. To create the required volume, the strips are glued with an overlap on the previous row. After that, seeds are glued on top of the pink (red) paper. They are cut from plain black paper. Usually, such crafts are created using PVA glue.
