Geometric circle applications are usually made by kids aged 3 to 4 years. There are also more complex options for such crafts that are suitable for children 5-6 years old. This activity teaches the child to work independently and develops his imagination. In the article we will tell you what kind of children's applications can be made from circles.

Simple options for toddlers

To create an applique, first of all, you need to prepare paper of different colors, plastic eyes, plasticine, glue stick or PVA, scissors, cardboard, a simple pencil and compasses.

From such a set of materials, you can make an application on almost any topic.

Let's figure out how to make a rocket out of colored paper.

  • For the beginning, you need to cut circles of different colors and sizes. Using a compass, draw 6 small circles of approximately the same diameter for the windows and decoration of the lower part and 2 large circles for the background and the main part of the rocket.
  • Now we take the circle from which you plan to make the rocket body and fold its edges. After that, you should have something that looks like a sweep of a cone. We glue the edges with glue. If you work with PVA, then do not overdo it, otherwise there is a risk of pouring glue on the craft, thereby ruining it.
  • We glue three windows to the rocket, after which we move on to the remaining parts - the rocket “legs”. We fold each of the parts in half twice, thereby obtaining a part that looks like a quarter of a circle. We glue it all to the rocket. Attach the finished applique to the remaining background circle. The craft is ready!

If you wish, you can take markers and slightly diversify the resulting applique, thereby making it brighter.

If the child is not interested in the space theme and rockets, then you can make an application in the form of a boat. To do this, in addition to the basic materials, you will need an ice cream stick. The workflow is quite simple: we cut out a large semicircle, a rectangle, three small circles and a flag. We form an applique on cardboard. The craft is ready!

It will be easy for children to make an applique in the form of a sun with a cloud. For such work, in addition to basic materials, you also need plasticine.

  • First, cut out the yellow and white circles. To form the sun, you need one large yellow circle and a slightly smaller one for the rays. At the same time, the rays do not have to be strictly yellow; they can also be cut out of orange or red. For the cloud, cut out several white circles of different sizes.
  • Now we lay out the future applique on cardboard and glue each detail one by one. After that, you need to wait a little for the glue to dry. At this time, you can mold a face from plasticine for the sun. To do this, we roll several small balls for the nose and an eye and one thin short sausage for the mouth. We glue it all to the applique. The craft is ready!

If desired, using a marker, you can draw a sun, freckles or add other details.

How to make animals and birds?

You can also make many different applications in the form of birds and animals from the circles - for example, in the form of an elephant, crab, frog, dog, crocodile or parrot.

So to make it flat applique in the form of a dog, you will need paper, glue, cardboard, scissors, a marker, and a pair of compasses.

We draw four identical circles with the help of a compass and cut them out. We set aside two circles, cut the other two strictly in half, thereby obtaining four parts at once: paws, a tail and two ears. Now we put the applique on the cardboard and glue it on. With a marker, draw the dog's face. The craft is ready!

This is an easy way to create a craft. Now let's figure out the more complex ones and consider how to create a volumetric applique in the form of a crab. The materials will be required the same.

  • First you need to make templates in the form of three circles with a diameter of 12, 5 and 3.5 cm. You can make the details a little larger or, conversely, smaller at your discretion.
  • Now, with the help of templates, draw and cut out the main details in orange and green. You should get the following number of details: 1 large circle for the body, 4 medium circles for the claws, 6 small ones for the limbs, 5 for algae, 2 colored circles for the eyes, 2 white circles for the eyes too. To make the work go faster, you can fold a sheet of paper like an accordion and cut out several parts at once.
  • We put the circle for the body of the crab aside, fold the rest in half. Separately, cut out two thin strips for the claws. After that, we lay out all the details on cardboard, forming an applique. It remains only to finish drawing the face of the sea inhabitant.
  • We glue each detail one by one. Children's volumetric crab applique is ready!

Making insects

It will not be difficult for children to make an applique made of colored paper and in the form of an insect.

For example, you can make a bee. To do this, you need to cut out circles of the same diameter: one white, two yellow and two black. Separately cut out two small circles for the peephole. If you wish, you can use purchased plastic eyes, so the craft will look more original.

  • We cut the large white circle strictly in half, thereby obtaining wings. We lay out all the details on cardboard, forming a bee, and then glue them. We finish drawing with the help of felt-tip pens the pupils and mouth of the insect. If desired, we cut out additional details from paper, giving originality to the craft. The bee is ready!

Other insects can be made in a similar way: for example, a bug, a ladybug or a caterpillar.

Flowers from circles

The application in the form of flower circles will be an excellent option for a gift to mom or grandmother on March 8 or any other holiday. It is not difficult to make such an application.

In order to make tulips in a vase out of circles, you need a compass, colored paper, cardboard and scissors.

  • For crafts, you need to draw with a compass and cut out a semicircle for a vase and several circles of different sizes: three for the bud and one for the leaves and 3 for the stems. You can cut out more circles to make other flowers like chamomile in the same way.
  • We cut the circles strictly in half, after which we proceed to the formation of the applique on the cardboard, gluing each detail in turn. The craft is ready!

And if you add insects to it, also made from circles, then you get a whole composition.

More ideas

From the circles you can also make the hero of the cartoon known to everyone - Cheburashka. It is not difficult to do this even for a child without the help of adults. The materials will be required the same as for other similar crafts.

  • The course of work is as follows: from brown paper you need to cut out 8 circles of the same diameter, and from beige or yellow paper - two smaller circles.
  • We fold the four circles from which the legs will be formed in half. Now we lay out the applique on cardboard and glue each of the parts.
  • After that, we cut out the eyes from white paper and draw the pupils. The work can be simplified by using purchased plastic eyes.
  • We make the final touches: draw or cut out and glue the Cheburashka's nose and eyebrows. The craft is ready!
