We make applications "Lion"
Make applications "Lion" very exciting for both children and adult lovers of crafts. You need to know how to make a lion cub from colored paper and his muzzle from natural materials. A separate important topic is how to make a lion's head without a mane for children.
How to make from colored paper?
The lion applique for kids can be used as:
- a unique gift;
- souvenir item;
- special craft on an animalistic theme.
Making a figure is quite accessible even for children in older preschool age. An elementary composition of this kind would require the use of:
- set of colored paper;
- glue based on polyvinyl acetate;
- comfortable small scissors;
- art brush;
- oilcloth or unnecessary tablecloth;
- landscape sheet of paper;
- black slate pencil.
Start creating a lion cub by cutting out all parts of the applique. Once this is finished, you need to unfold the landscape sheet of paper in a horizontal plane. The body of the animal is glued onto it - still without a mane and head. Next, a ponytail is glued to the back of the figure. Later:
- putting the head to the body, outline it around the perimeter with a simple pencil;
- cut strips of three different shades to develop a mane;
- stick them in the right place until a full circle appears;
- set in place the head of the king of the savannah;
- create a nose for him in two parts;
- shape the eyes;
- they finish the job by gluing a few "almost real" colored paper leaves in the corners.
Crafting from natural materials
A voluminous lion with a frightening and believable muzzle can be obtained not only on the basis of paper. Compositions with natural materials are especially promising in autumn. Autumn leaves can be used as the basis for the original figure. It is advisable to make the muzzle according to the template. The parts are planted on PVA glue.
To make the head look more realistic, it is recommended to paint it with colored pencils. An autumn leaf will allow you to lay out the mane of a formidable savannah dweller. It should be laid out somewhat chaotically. Experts advise using dried leaves that last longer. Having made a mane, a decorated head is installed - and this is where the work ends.
More ideas
A good Lion applique can be done in many other ways. Disposable plates are often used as a basis. Turn the yellow one over, and draw the outline of the future torso of the beast from behind. They act carefully and carefully. You need to cut it with scissors, not with a knife or anything else.
Next, you need a plate, the perimeter of which will look colorful. This will turn out to be the perfect preparation for the mane. We outline the edges into strips, cut out. The yellow plate folds in half and becomes a blank for the lion's face. It is better to form it according to a half pattern, outlining with a pencil and cutting with scissors.
We must not forget about cutting out a semicircle, which must be fastened behind in order to get an expressive mouth.
The next step is to glue the muzzle onto a plate complete with mane. There is no need to rush here. Then you need to add a nose and eyes to the lion you are creating. It is advisable to take plastic parts, and not to suffer with cutting and gluing little things once again. Completing the work:
- carving out a pretty black mustache;
- gluing them below the slightly open mouth;
- decorating ears in the form of pink paper circles;
- putting on a tail with a tassel;
- forming paws from double-folded black circles;
- attaching the head to the body using a stationery stapler or double-sided tape.
But the lion is not only the conqueror of the savannah, it is also the formidable lord of the jungle to some extent. Realizing such an image can be no less interesting. To make things easier, you will need a ready-made lion figure template. Next, the stencil details are cut out of colored paper. Recommendation: if there is no ready-made colored paper, it can be made from plain white paper using gouache. Too much chasing after the authenticity of the image of the jungle is not worth it. It is enough if the child draws something vaguely reminiscent of their fairytale or cartoon image with a felt-tip pen. The youngest children should be helped - to create the outlines within which they will have to paint the composition.
Then comes the time to create paws, manes and wool. At this point, red and orange markers are needed. The middle of the lion's face is covered with a white circle. The eyes, nose and mouth will be placed there. You need to make sure that they are placed symmetrically, according to the triangle rule. Already in the younger preschool group, you can get the children to give the animal a meaningful expression.
You can practice in different applications of a sad, funny, angry or indifferent lion. One way or another, the prepared head together with the body is glued onto the background.
Another option involves the use of cereals (millet) and oranges. Having drawn the sky on a sheet and cutting off all unnecessary along a wavy line (this is very important), cover the part with a wave with glue. It will need to be secured to green cardboard. This is how they create a green lawn under a cloudless sky. The daylight is made from a large orange slice.
The remains of the orange peel are used to make ears. Then you will need to finish drawing the lion's silhouette in parts against the background of the grass. The dried pieces of peel are rolled into thin strands. White plasticine is used for the muzzle, and yellow for the nose. Then it will remain:
- fill the figure with cereals, it is glued to PVA glue;
- remove excess;
- make a mane from orange triangles (again, pre-dried);
- attach the ears;
- complement the figure with expressive eyes and a tail with a tassel.
