Applications come in several different types. Each of them has its own specific characteristics, which are important to take into account before starting to make a beautiful craft.

Subject

The simplest and most understandable type of application. Basically, the acquaintance of kids with this technique begins precisely with the object execution. In accordance with this option, a certain element must be cut out of the selected material, which must then be glued to one or another base. Most often, the latter is cardboard or paper of a certain color.

Subject-thematic

Such appliqué variations are no longer composed of just one, but several components and characters. It is through these characters that a certain event or action is "played out" against the chosen background. In creation, such compositions can be more difficult, but more interesting.

Decorative

A very interesting kind of applique. May include repeating designs and patterns. In this way, beautiful albums, frames and all sorts of household items are often decorated.

Simple options

It is advisable for the smallest craftsmen, who do not have rich experience in creating crafts from colored paper, to get acquainted with the application, starting with the simplest options. You should not immediately tackle something complex with many details. Light compositions are the perfect solution.

For example, a kid will certainly be interested in the process of making an applique with a hedgehog made of palms. Let's find out how to correctly model such a creative, but very simple craft.

  • There are several options for how to make such a composition. For example, you can circle your baby's palm on a piece of black or brown paper. Next, the template is cut out and glued to the cardboard base. For this method, 4 cut blanks will be enough.
  • Next, you will need to prepare the body of the hedgehog. To do this, draw a detail on paper of the same color, the shape of which resembles a boat. This part is cut out. You can immediately sketch the torso with a rounded tip - this will be the nose.
  • Now the cut out torso with a spout must be positioned on the base under the needles-palms.
  • To shape the mouth and eye of a hedgehog, you can use felt-tip pens. You can also cut out semicircular blanks from red and white paper, which will play the role of the indicated elements. We must not forget about the small black round details - the pupils.
  • You can complement such an interesting palm applique with a green apple or mushroom, created from white and red colored paper.

All cut out components are best glued to the substrate with a glue stick in moderation.

A little craftsman can be entrusted with modeling an applique with an adorable turkey chicken.

  • First, prepare the base. It can be a sheet of cardboard of any color or an option with a pattern.
  • First you need to cut a square out of brown paper. This detail will play the role of the body of a small turkey.
  • Next, you need to prepare 6 pieces of different colors in the form of leaves. These components will act as the bird's feathers. Their size can be the same or different.
  • Now you need to carefully cut the triangular piece out of orange paper. This will be the turkey's beak.
  • Sticks with triangular elements at the end in orange (2 pieces) will serve as paws.
  • A teardrop-shaped piece of red color will need to be cut out in this way to form “earrings” hanging near the bird's beak.
  • White and black circles will be needed to form the eyelet.
  • When all the blanks are cut, they will need to be glued to the matched base. It is advisable to use a glue stick for fixing so that the excess liquid mass does not get knocked out of the parts of the paper turkey.

Making such an interesting applique is suitable for young craftsmen who are just mastering the basics of the decorative and applied art in question.

The smallest ones can begin to master the creative process with subject variations depicting vegetables (cabbage, carrots, onions), fruits (pineapple, apple, banana, and so on). Ideas about autumn are also suitable. It is better not to choose pictures that are too complex in execution.

Ideas for children 4-5 years old

Children aged 4-5 can start creating appliques a little more difficult. For example, a child will be able to make a craft with his own hands with the image of an elegant peacock.

  • First, you will need to cut several strips of colored paper of different lengths. Colors can be anything. The peacock tail of all colors of the rainbow will look bright.
  • The edges of the cut strips should be glued together to form improvised droplet details.
  • Longer teardrop components need to be glued to the base in a semicircle. Shorter elements will need to be fixed under long ones, also in a semicircle.
  • The final row will be made up of "droplets" made from the shortest strips of colored paper.
  • Further, on paper material of a blue shade, you will need to draw the outlines of the peacock's body. The part is cut out and then glued to the base under the semicircular lines of the teardrop-shaped feathers.
  • On the fixed body, it is necessary to draw the peacock's eyes. A triangular piece is cut out of yellow paper and glued as a beak. You will also need an oval of a purple hue, which will need to be attached to the body.

In conclusion, it remains only to draw the legs of the bird.

Also, the little master will be fascinated by the independent production of an applique in the form of a snail.

  • For the base, you need to prepare a sheet of white cardboard.
  • From a sheet of colored paper of a light brown shade, you will need to cut the body of the future snail. A boomerang-like shape will do.
  • The body is glued to the base with a glue stick.
  • Now you need to take green paper and cut a wide strip out of it. One side of it with scissors must be cut so that the effect of grass is created. The finished part is glued to the bottom of the body.
  • Next, you need to cut out several multi-colored circles of different sizes. The easiest way to draw the contours of these components is with a compass.
  • The finished mugs are glued to the cardboard in the area above the snail's body.
  • You will need to draw a funny face with a black marker. You should depict eyes, a smiling mouth, antennae antennae. You don't have to draw your eyes, but you can glue ready-made plastic versions.

Complex applications for 6-7 years

Older children (from 6 to 7 years old) can safely move on to mastering more complex patterns for making applications from colored paper.

Consider an interesting master class on creating a spectacular composition "roses in a vase".

  • First you need to prepare everything you need: sheets of paper with frames (2 cm on each edge), pencils, watercolors, brushes, colored paper, scissors, glue stick.
  • First, the base with lined margins at the edges is laid out on the work surface. Without going beyond the frame, you need to draw a vase on a piece of paper with a pencil, as well as 5 branches of future flowers.
  • Next, watercolors are taken. They paint over a vase (any color is suitable, for example, pale purple). The frame must also be tinted, for example, with blue paint. Rose stems should be painted brown, painting on small thorns.
  • It is necessary to cut the blue and purple paper into stripes, and then these elements are cut into many small squares. The result is a mosaic.
  • Spirals should be drawn on 5 squares of pink paper. They are cut out. You need to fold the buds of future roses from the far end to the central point.
  • A blue mosaic is glued to the edges of the frame, and a purple mosaic to the contours of the vase.
  • Spiral buds are fixed at the tips of the stems. A beautiful and original craft is ready!

In a similar way, you can model a variety of flowers in a vase, for example: chamomile or tulips.

The original application will turn out, which depicts a panda.

  • For modeling, you will need: a green sheet of cardboard (base), black and white paper, as well as sheets of yellow and green colors, templates for the details of the future bear, felt-tip pens and scissors.
  • First, you need to circle all the panda component templates. The body, lower legs, upper legs, ears, eyes and nose are made on black paper. The head, belly and heels on the hind legs are cut out of white paper.
  • The baseboard can be trimmed around the edges with curly scissors for beauty. A green strip is glued at the bottom - this will be the grass, an important part of the background landscape.
  • It is necessary to cut the yellow strips. These will serve as bamboo stalks. Leaves are prepared from green paper. All components are glued to the base.
  • Next, the body of the panda is attached. First the black part, and on top of it - the white one. Then the hind legs, head, ears, eyes and nose and all remaining components are fixed.

The original craft is ready. By a similar principle, a child will be able to make a lot of other applications, for example, which depicts a nesting doll or various animals.

A child can make an applique with a swan with his own hands.

  • You need to prepare white A4 sheets, scissors, glue, a ruler, a pencil, ready-made templates for the future swan and a cardboard base.
  • A white leaf is folded in half and strips of 1.5 cm are marked on it.
  • Then they are cut out, and then the tips are glued together to form "droplets", as in the case of the peacock.
  • It is necessary to cut a blank in the form of the body, long neck and head of the bird. When this part is done, it will be necessary to glue droplet feathers onto its tail. All components should be directed in the same direction, without gaps and "bare" areas.
  • A swan with elegant plumage should be glued to a cardboard base. The base color can be any color, for example, blue.
  • The red triangle must be cut and pasted to represent the bird's beak. With a felt-tip pen or pencil, it remains to draw the eyes.

Under the supervision of adults, such an interesting application can be made by children of both school and preschool ages. The main thing is to act carefully.

Original applications

Little craftsmen can easily make unusual appliques in accordance with different techniques. We are talking about the design of the bases by means of paper pieces, strips. The applique can be decorated with wrinkles and accordion-folded paper.

So, in order to create a spectacular paper lilac, you need to adhere to such a master class.

  • A cardboard base is taken. It can be painted in any color or supplemented with a sheet of colored paper.
  • A vase is drawn on a sheet of colored paper, cut out and glued to cardboard at the bottom.
  • Next, corrugated paper is taken. Thin strips are cut out of it, and stems are formed from them.
  • You need to take multi-colored napkins. Inflorescence shapes are cut out of them and fixed on glue above the stems.
  • A few more napkins are torn into small pieces, crumpled in their hands.
  • Next, the glue is applied to the prepared base, and then each crumpled piece is fixed on it. All elements should fit tightly to each other.
  • From the same paper that was used for the stems, you need to cut out the leaves, and then glue them.

Many different applications can be made using the same technique.

A funny applique - a frog with an opening mouth. Let's find out how you can make it.

  • Thick orange cardboard and decorative cardboard are suitable for the base.
  • First, prepare the base so that it has the shape of a postcard.
  • Next, fold a green sheet of paper. On the white side, draw half of the silhouette of the future frog. The outline of the main character may slightly resemble a cactus.
  • The frog pattern is cut out.
  • On its reverse side, a straight strip is drawn with a ruler.
  • The workpiece is folded in half again, an incision is made with scissors along the line.
  • The template is revealed. In the upper and lower parts of the workpiece, creases must be formed in accordance with the marked lines. Due to this, the character will be able to open and close his mouth.
  • The frog must be glued to the finished base. The mouth does not need to be fixed yet.
  • Eye circles are cut out of white paper. They are glued to the postcard applique.
  • Now, using a black pencil or felt-tip pen, you will need to draw the pupils in the eyes. The frog should be traced around its entire contour. You can paint on the flies flying around.

If you bend such an original postcard, then the frog's mouth will open, as if it is trying to catch flies flying around it.
