It is especially interesting for children to make images of different animals, for example, the king of animals - the lion. In this article we will look at how you can make lion appliqués out of leaves.

Beautiful appliques can look very original and impressive, but this does not mean that their creation takes a lot of time and effort. A child can make an excellent homemade product in just a few minutes. There is nothing difficult in carrying out such creative work.

It is recommended for the smallest craftsmen to start making appliqués with the simplest options. As soon as the child masters all the necessary basics of such creative work, he can move on to the next levels and make more complex homemade products.

One of the simplest, but no less attractive options is the face of a lion against the background of beautifully laid out fallen leaves. Such an application will be extremely simple to implement, so the child will not face great difficulties.

Here are the components that will be needed to model such a craft:

• dry leaves (it is advisable to use fallen maple leaves, the amount of this natural component will depend on the size of the lion's head);

• white and orange paper;

• yellow cardboard;

• cardboard of any color for the base of the applique;

• ready-made plastic or homemade paper eyes for a lion;

• pencil;

• PVA glue (you can use a glue stick);

• scissors.

Let's look at the step-by-step instructions for modeling a simple applique depicting a charming lion's face against a background of red leaves.

• First, you need to draw the rounded outline of the lion's face with ears on the back of the yellow cardboard sheet. As soon as all the contours are ready, you need to carefully cut out the blanks for the applique along them. It is advisable to carry out this stage of work under the supervision of adults, since the child will work using sharp scissors.

• Based on the size of the lion's head, it is necessary to carefully cut out a heart-shaped part from a snow-white sheet of paper. This component will play the role of a good predator's muzzle.

• Next, orange paper is taken. A teardrop-shaped long piece must be cut out of it. It will be used as a lion's nose.

• After that, you need to prepare the eyes.

• The finished eyes should be glued to a yellow base cut from a cardboard sheet. Next, a muzzle-heart is glued under the eyes, on top of it - a nose. And also a charming character can be supplemented with a protruding tongue, pre-cut from orange, pink or red paper.

• When the lion's head is ready, you can move on to preparing the base from the leaves. They need to be collected in advance and dried thoroughly so that they do not wrinkle some time after the completion of creative work.

• Cuttings of leaves must be cut off. Next, these parts are glued to a cardboard base, forming a neat circle. It is very important to take into account the size of the lion's head, so that later it will be successfully positioned in the center of the "autumn" circle, and will normally correlate with it in size.

• When the maple leaves are glued to the cardboard base and form a circle, you can glue the lion's head on top of it.

• Next, you should take the basis for future unusual applications. A cardboard sheet is perfect for these purposes. Its color is not that important, so you can stock up on plain white cardboard.

• At the first stage, on a cardboard base, you will need to lay out a lion's mane from fallen red leaves. It is recommended to use maple foliage as it has the most suitable size and shape.

• Maple leaves must be glued to a cardboard base, forming a circle, as in the previous master class.Mane elements can be fixed in layers, alternating leaves of different sizes. Due to this, the lion cub's mane will be visually more lush and voluminous.

• When the shaggy foliage mane is ready and forms a circle with an empty center, it will be possible to glue a disposable yellow plate here - a lion's face. A universal adhesive or a glue gun is ideal for this. These components can be easily handled by both adults and children.

• When the plate is securely fixed on the applique blank, you will need to start decorating the lion's face. It is necessary to glue the eyes. They can be made from paper, or you can use ready-made plastic parts that are sold in stores for arts and crafts.

• The nose of a good-natured lion cub can be made from any available black material. The antennae and cute cheeks will be most conveniently drawn with a marker or black felt-tip pen.

• Don't forget about lion ears. These elements can be yellow cardboard mugs glued on top of the plate.

Children can rely on many other master classes, making a beautiful applique on the theme of "Lion". It is not at all necessary to do only the muzzle of the king of beasts. A full-size predator with a body, paws and a tail will look no less attractive and bright on the applique.

For work you will need:

• dry leaves (as in the previous instructions, it is recommended to stock up on maple leaves);

• white and yellow paper;

• glue;

• scissors;

• felt-tip pens or paints.

Let's analyze a step-by-step scheme for making a beautiful applique using fallen leaves:

• The first step is to choose a suitable background for the applique. It can be a sheet of white paper or cardboard. Color may vary.

• Next, the body of a lion needs to be cut out of yellow paper. It is glued to a cardboard background using liquid PVA glue or glue stick. At the same time, it is very important to think well and provide for free space so that there is where to place the head and mane of the beast.

• Now you need to cut the head of a lion out of yellow paper. With the help of a felt-tip pen, it is easy to depict the cute face of the king of animals with cheeks, eyes, nose, mouth and antennae on it. What colors to use in this case, the child can decide on his own.

• When the lion's head is completely ready, it should be tried on to the body already glued to the cardboard base. After trying on, it will be immediately clear where exactly it is necessary to glue an impromptu mane from dried leaves. At this point, the paper lion's head is removed to the side.

• It's time to start decorating a solid mane of leaves. They need to be glued to the place where the head of the beast will be placed. It is advisable to glue the foliage, creating a circle. The larger the leaves, the more lush the mane will appear. If empty spaces remain during the design of the circle, they should be covered with smaller leaves or their scraps. It is better not to leave voids, because with them the king of animals will turn out to be less effective and presentable.

• When a beautiful lush mane is securely fixed on the base, young craftsmen can start gluing the finished character's head. It must be glued in the center of a circle made up of red maple leaves. To make the image more attractive, certain parts of the foliage can be fixed between the lion's ears, simulating the effect of a "naughty mane".

• When the head of the king of beasts is securely glued over the mane of leaves, let's start styling the tail, if it was not done earlier. The tail should be made from the same yellow paper.It is enough to cut a small piece of an elongated shape. It should be glued to the back of the lion's body.

• All lions have fluffy tips on their tails, most often painted in dark shades. This detail should not be forgotten. The shaggy tip can be made out of black paper, or drawn with a black felt-tip pen / marker. How exactly to arrange this part, the child will decide on his own.

• The original applique is ready. As a decoration, it can be supplemented with components that will imitate the savannah surrounding the king of beasts.
