Application on the theme "Cat"
Cats are cute pets that all kids will know. The more interesting it is to make them out of paper.
Making a simple cat out of colored paper
There are many options for how to make a cat using the applique technique. The level of difficulty depends solely on the age of the child.
Cat made of geometric shapes
The work is an applique of a silhouette of a cat, assembled from geometric shapes. Great craft option for kids... They not only develop fine motor skills, but also get acquainted with geometric shapes, develop imagination. Materials will require a sheet of cardboard and colored paper, as well as a glue stick.
On colored paper, you need to draw geometric shapes, and then cut them out. To create a cat's body, you need a circle - a head, a large isosceles triangle - a body, two small small triangles - ears, an elongated sharp triangle or rectangle - a tail. You can use other shapes, for example, make oval or square legs, a rectangular body. The main thing is to get a recognizable silhouette of a cat.
Next, the figures are glued to the cardboard. First the head and torso, then the rest of the details. Draw a muzzle with a black marker. Some elements, such as eyes, can also be made out of paper. The complexity of the work depends on the number of parts of the craft.
Puss in Boots
Another interesting craft that can turn into a beautiful element of children's room decor if you hang it on the wall. For crafts, you will need colored paper, cardboard, old magazines. It is better to use PVA glue.
Rectangular cardboard will be the base of the craft. The scale of the cat as a whole also depends on its size. The head should occupy 1/3 of the base in height, and the body should occupy the remaining 2/3. The paws and tail will extend beyond the base, so it is better to cut them out of cardboard to make the craft stronger. Cut out boots from red cardboard or paper.
Now you need to fasten everything the elements... It is better to hide the paws and tail under the body. Once the glue is dry, you can start decorating. You can decorate the face using magazine clippings. You can also decorate your cat with accessories such as a hat, bow tie, belt or wristwatch. The craft is ready.
Kitten from the palm
Since the children's palm is small, a small kitten will turn out from its silhouette. A great craft option for young children.
For work you will need:
- cardboard;
- glue;
- colored paper;
- scissors.
Circle a child's palm with outstretched fingers on the back of colored paper. Cut. This will be the body of the future kitten: the thumb is the tail, the rest are the paws. Separately draw the silhouette of the kitten's head, in proportion to the body. You can cut a circle and two triangles-ears.
Now you need to connect all the parts. First, attach the body with the legs down on the cardboard, and then the head on top. Decorate the face with felt-tip pens or colored paper, cutting out the eyes and mustache. On the chest of the kitten, legs and the tip of the tail, you can stick paper with a contrasting color, imitating the color.
Sketch application
This work is more difficult, designed for children of the older group or primary school age.... The whole picture is performed using the applique technique according to a previously prepared sketch. You can draw yourself or print from the Internet.
For work you will need:
- cardboard base;
- colored paper;
- sketch;
- glue stick or PVA;
- scissors;
- black marker.
First, the background of the craft is drawn up, if any. For example, trees, a house or bushes. You can cut them out or use the printed sketch as a stencil: translate with a window glass or use carbon paper (carbon paper), which can be found in stationery stores.
After that, the foreground is formed, in fact, the cat itself. The craft is ready.
Of stripes
This craft is interesting in that the cat itself or its parts do not have to be cut out of paper. The craft is suitable for the little ones.
For work you will need:
- colored cardboard for the base;
- colored paper;
- a sheet of white paper;
- scissors;
- glue.
Narrow strips about 1 cm thick are cut out of colored paper, they can be thinner, and no longer than a cardboard sheet. Then they are sequentially glued onto the cardboard horizontally to fill the entire space. Gaps between the stripes are allowed, because the cardboard is also colored.
Next, a sheet of white paper is taken, equal in size to the cardboard base. A silhouette of a cat is drawn on paper, you can print the finished one. Next, you need to cut out the silhouette from the inside so that a curly "hole" forms in the sheet, the cat itself is not needed for the craft. Then glue the blank to the cardboard. Colored stripes will appear through the "hole", repeating the silhouette of the cat. If you wish, you can design the muzzle by completing the eyes and mustache.
The letter "C"
In grades 1-2, they may be given the task to draw up a letter of the alphabet using the applique technique in order to consolidate knowledge. In English, a cat will be "cat", so the letter "C" can be formatted accordingly. For work, you will also need a cardboard base or thick paper, colored paper, as well as glue with scissors.
First, a large "C" is cut out so that it almost fills the space on the sheet. The ears and tail are cut in the same color. Further, there are two design options.
- Eyes, nose and mustache are glued under the ears to make a muzzle.
- The muzzle is formed in the middle of the sheet, and the oval of the letter imitates the head.
The letter is ready.
How to make a cut-off applique?
The smallest craftsmen can be offered breakaway applique. The craft is interesting in that it perfectly trains fine motor skills, because a piece of paper still needs to be torn off with an effort. Here, the entire musculature of the hand is already involved, and spatial thinking is also developing.
For work you will need:
- colored paper;
- glue stick;
- sketch of a cat.
A large silhouette of a cat can be drawn independently on cardboard, white paper, or printed on a printer. Next, the child is invited to tear off small pieces of paper and glue them to the base, without going beyond the boundaries of the silhouette. The entire space is filled step by step.
Choose any color of paper. It can be a black cat or all colors of the rainbow. Once the glue is dry, paint over the eyes and mustache.
Volumetric option
A paper craft can be voluminous and not necessarily made using the origami technique. The proposed work is easy to manufacture and is suitable for preschool children.
For crafts you will need:
- double-sided colored paper;
- scissors;
- glue.
Cut a long strip 5-6 cm wide from a sheet of colored paper. Bend the ends towards the middle. If the cat is planned to be striped, then glue or draw perpendicular stripes on the wide side. Next, glue the bent parts together to form a volumetric semicircle. This is the body of a cat.
Next, you need to cut out a heart from paper to match the body and two triangles - ears. Cut out smaller triangles and a round nose from pink paper. White paper - eyes. Connect all the details and glue to the body. Cut a narrow strip out of colored paper - the tail. Twist it slightly, for example, on a pencil, to give it a bend. Glue to the body. The cat is ready for children.
You can make a more complex craft according to the proposed patterns using the origami technique.
More ideas
In addition to colored paper, you can use other materials for making crafts, for example, fabric, felt, newspapers, or cotton pads. When choosing a fabric, it is important to use one that will not crumble at the edges.
From newspapers
You can also take old newspapers for crafts. The technique is interesting in that the cat acquires texture.
For work you will need:
- newspaper;
- colored paper;
- scissors;
- glue;
- cardboard for the base.
Here, different options for making the craft are possible.
- The silhouette of a cat is cut out of the newspaper and pasted on colored cardboard so that the borders are clearly visible. You can cut out the head, torso and legs separately, but at different slopes of the text. In this case, the craft will look more interesting. Cut out eyes, ears, elements of a fur color, a collar and other details from colored paper.
- A silhouette of a cat is cut out of colored paper, as in the example of a ribbon craft, and glued to a newspaper. You can complicate the task and glue scraps of newspaper or cut pieces to the base. In this case, the cat will turn out to be more textured. Cut details for decoration.
It is not necessary to use only colored paper as decoration. For example, a nose or collar can be made of leather, eyes are made of beads, or you can purchase special runners for toys.
The craft looks very unusual and original.
From cotton pads
It is carried out using the applique technique, only cotton pads are used instead of colored paper.
For work you will need:
- 5 cotton pads;
- a sheet of colored cardboard;
- PVA glue;
- black marker or plasticine for the decoration of the face.
First, two cotton pads are glued to the cardboard - the head and the body. The third disc is cut in half - these will be the legs. Glue the halves under the body with the convex side up.
Next, the tail is made. At the fourth disc, an edge is cut off along the circumference. As a result, the tail is rounded. 2 triangular ears are cut from the middle. Thin strips are cut from the last disc - a mustache. They did everything to stick to the body.
As soon as the glue dries, you can start styling the face. It can be drawn with a marker or molded from a piece of black plasticine.
