Children with balloons are familiar from films and pictures, but they know and love balloons firsthand, each released them into the sky. In this article we will tell you how to make volumetric applications of balloons with baskets, we will offer a master class for the little ones, we will explain how to make balloons from cotton pads.

A simple option for babies from cotton pads

For work, we need cotton pads, a white sheet of paper, watercolors, a brush, water for rinsing the brush, glue, and a blue felt-tip pen. Invite your toddler to peel the cotton pads. Cover them with glue and stick to paper.

Three details fit well on A4 format.

Then invite the kids to choose their favorite shades, and let them paint each balloon with a brush and watercolors. With a blue felt-tip pen, draw the threads going down from each ball. At the bottom of the applique, draw a bow tying the balls together. The result is a simple and accessible craft for any child.

Volumetric applique made of colored paper

By creating voluminous crafts with children, we form in them the skills of working with volume and planes. We offer to consider several applications of balloons created in a similar way.

Option one

Prepare blue cardboard, a set of colored paper, a white sheet for work. We will also need glue, scissors, felt-tip pens, a ruler and a pencil. Let's start the craft by making clouds. Draw 5 indefinite clouds on white paper with a blue felt-tip pen, and then cut out. Stick them horizontally onto blue cardboard.

Try to place the clouds around the perimeter of the applique, leaving a central place for the balloon.

Using a compass, draw a circle on any color of cardboard. If you don't have a compass, you can simply circle the glass with a pencil. Cut out the workpiece. Cut strips 1 cm wide from sheets of colored paper. Try each strip to a cardboard ball and bend the edges to fit. Glue the edges of the strip and, wrapping the ball, glue it. The glue edges should be on the back of the ball. In this way, in a circle with colored stripes, you need to paste over the entire balloon.

Glue the finished volumetric blank in the center of the upper part of the cardboard. Cut a trapezoidal basket out of brown paper. Place it on the bottom of the cardboard. Using a felt-tip pen and a ruler, draw connecting lines between the ball and the basket, simulating ropes. The colorful volumetric applique is ready.

Option two

For work you will need: a sheet of blue cardboard, white paper, a set of colored paper, scissors, glue, a pencil, two-color braided thread. Make a teardrop-shaped template with a straight bottom cut out of cardboard. Use it to draw details on colored paper in three different shades, cut them out.

Cut out a small square of any color right away. It will become a balloon basket. Fold each drop-shaped blank in half along a longitudinal line. Glue the multi-colored halves to each other, form a beautiful volumetric ball. Draw three air clouds on white paper and cut them out. Glue the clouds around the perimeter of the blue cardboard, leaving the central part for the balloon.

At the top of the center of the cardboard, fix the volumetric balloon. Take two braided threads down from the ball and glue. Attach a square piece (basket) to the threads. The result is a beautiful multi-colored balloon flying in the clouds.

More ideas

Appliques can be made in different ways from any material. We offer several options for interesting crafts.

Button applique

Involve children aged 6-8 years to work. Prepare in advance blue cardboard for the base of the craft, white paper, colored cardboard, printout of children's faces. Also stock up on scissors, glue, thread and flat buttons in a variety of colors and sizes.

At the top of the blue cardboard, draw a circle with a simple pencil. Create a stencil for the basket. Place it on colored cardboard, trace with a pencil and cut out. Glue the basket at the bottom of the applique.

Take two pieces of yellow knitting threads and glue them between the basket and the ball. Print pictures of children's faces from the Internet. Cut out the two faces you like and fix them over the basket. Then, on the outline of the balloon, begin to glue the buttons from the center to the edges, gradually filling the entire circle. Thanks to the buttons, an unusual and beautiful applique is created.

Applique with weaving elements

For work, you need to prepare a basic sheet of cardboard and a piece of cardboard for the basket, a set of colored paper, glue, scissors and a simple pencil. Take a yellow piece of paper, draw a circle with a pencil. If you don't have a compass, you can circle any round object. Cut out the drawn balloon base. Next, prepare two rectangles of different colors, fold each of them in four. Draw a quarter circle at the bend.

On one rectangle, the size of the picture should be larger, on the other - smaller.

Cut them out, you get two elongated ovals, slightly pointed at the top and bottom.

Let's move on to making the basket. Cut a trapezoid piece out of cardboard. From yellow and orange paper, cut strips 1 cm wide and 2 cm long longer than the longest side of the trapezoid (basket). Bend the edge on each orange stripe on one side, no more than a centimeter. Apply glue to the cuffs and glue strip by strip to the side of the trapezoid.

Details are glued to the inside of the basket and displayed in long strips to the front side.

When the glue is dry, take the yellow stripes and thread them perpendicularly through each orange piece, making a braid. Fold all edge ends under the trapezoid and glue from the wrong side. The result is a wicker basket.

Take the base cardboard prepared for the applique and start assembling all the elements into a single picture. Glue a yellow ball on the top of the cardboard, place a large colored oval on it, and place a small oval on top. The result is a three-color balloon. At the bottom of the cardboard, glue the basket, connect it to the ball with two strips of yellow paper. In this way, we made an applique with weaving elements.

We reviewed 5 applications for different age groups. They are simple and can be a good gift or beautiful decor.
