Adidas
Sportswear and footwear are currently receiving a lot of attention. The modern world is designed in such a way that people live in an active and dynamic mode. Therefore, many girls refuse heels and tight skirts and choose a comfortable sports style and branded items. Athletes also carefully choose equipment for themselves, giving preference to the best and trusted manufacturers. Adidas is one of the leading sporting goods companies with a rich history and worldwide recognition backed by years of success.
Brand history
In the post-war period, in the 20s of the last century, the Dassler family decided to start the production of footwear. Initially, Adolf Dassler, the youngest son in the family, nicknamed Adi, took over the production.
Then, in the room that had previously been his mother's laundry, he launched the production of slippers and sports shoes for people with disabilities. The material for sewing shoes was a decommissioned military uniform, and the sole of the shoe was cut from old tires. After the older brother of Adolf Rudolph joined the production process, the Dassler brothers' shoe factory appeared.
Between the two brothers, the responsibilities for running the business were distributed based on personal qualities - Adolph was engaged in the development of models and production processes, and Rudolph was promoting the goods to the masses.
For the first time, boots for professional football players were produced in 1925 by Dassler. The model was appreciated and became another main component of production along with slippers.
The popularity of the brand gained momentum and brought the brothers' products to the world level. So at the Amsterdam Olympics in 1928, some athletes were seen wearing shoes from the Dassler brothers, and at the Olympics 5 years later, the German athlete took the third prize in short distance running.
A significant event in the history of the company can be called 1936 and the Olympic Games in Berlin, when an athlete wearing boots from the Dassler brothers took several gold medals and set world records. This event significantly strengthened the authority of branded footwear in the professional environment of athletes.
The great success of the family business gave way to new difficulties with the outbreak of the war. While the elder Rudolph was forced to fight, Adi was engaged in the production of footwear for the military. This broke the friendly tandem of the brothers and launched an irreversible mechanism.
And although the brothers reunited with the end of the war and began to rebuild the factories together, with the death of their father in 1948, the final point was set in their relationship and common business.
The brothers divided the two factories among themselves and went to the sides. Adolf created the Addas company, which later became known as Adidas, and Rudolph soon changed the original name of the Ruda company to the well-known Puma brand today. The Adidas label was based on two stripes from the Dassler brothers factory trademark, to which Adi added another stripe.
Starting from the middle of the last century, Adolf Dassler's company gained momentum and became more and more popular. Olympic athletes increasingly appeared at their performances in Adidas shoes, which had an extremely positive impact on the company's sales.
After the death of the company's founder in 1978 and a succession of successive executives, the brand's position gradually declined. By the 90s of the XX century, the company began to bring losses, and Adidas clothing and shoes began to be considered a relic. At that time, two main competitors came to the fore - the American brand Nike and the English Reebok.
Robert Louis-Dreyfus managed to breathe new life into the losing ground. Taking design and production optimization seriously, he created a line of sportswear for ordinary people and began to open brand stores. Attracting celebrity stars to the collection and sponsoring major sporting events has restored Adidas to its former glory and has made it one of the leading sportswear manufacturers alongside its main competitor Nike.

How to distinguish an original from a fake?
The great popularity of the brand and a wide range of products attract the attention of scammers who produce copies of low quality branded items. Therefore, it is important to know how original models differ from fakes.
- Branded items are sold only in branded boutiques or large sports stores, not in the markets.
- On the tags of the original item there is information about the model and the serial number. Moreover, in the case of shoes, this number will be different for the right and left boots.
- The presence of straight and even seams, the absence of traces of glue and a characteristic odor are signs of quality products.
- Branded items cost a lot of money, so a suspiciously low price speaks of inadequate quality.
- The company has an official website where all current models and color variations are presented. Having looked at this or that thing, you can compare it with the one presented on the site and make sure of its authenticity.
Stylish looks
