Making bouquets from marshmallows
Making a bouquet of marshmallows is pleasant and exciting. At the same time, it is very important to figure out how exactly to make them from marshmallows and marmalade with your own hands. A separate hot topic is a step-by-step description of making marshmallow bouquets for beginner craft lovers.
What are the bouquets?
You can make compositions in a variety of ways at your discretion. But first of all, it is necessary to decide whether such a gift will be laid out on a substrate, or it will be presented to the addressee in a box. The very type of substrates and boxes can also be different. In addition, marmalade and marshmallows can combine with other foods and items. Combinations with:
- raspberries, strawberries and other berries;
- apples;
- peaches;
- citrus fruits;
- sweets;
- cookies;
- small toys;
- fresh flowers;
- thematic details and souvenirs.
But the difference between bouquets can be in completely different things. So, it often touches the geometry of the finished surprise. Many people prefer a lush bouquet. Others are much better suited to the shape of the heart. And also it is sometimes required to create voluminous and curly compositions.
The specifics sometimes apply to the design option. The sophisticated amateurs often put together gorgeous, complete collections. But they can make bouquets both in the format of a basket, and as an almost real bouquet, simply wrapped in wrapping or wrapping paper.
The size of the product can be flexibly varied at your discretion. It makes sense to further understand the specific options for bouquet crafts.
How to make from regular marshmallow?
The technology for making a composition from simple marshmallows with your own hands is quite well developed. The main thing is that the sweets themselves differ in color and size. Completely uniform parts of the bouquet are unlikely to look attractive.
All parts are put on skewers. In order for large pieces to hold firmly, they are held in place with two chopsticks. Then you need to tackle the foundation. With the help of adhesive tape, 3-4 thin stems with fixed components are joined together. Do the same with a few more sticks. It is very important to prevent squeezing of sweet marshmallows. Laying with thin white paper helps to separate it.
To increase the strength of the sweet craft, it is fixed with tape and placed in a package based on corrugated paper or floral cellophane.
You can make compositions from marshmallows with marmalade. For work, you need 2-3 varieties of each sweet. They are pricked onto thin bamboo sticks and placed neatly on plates. When pre-designing the craft, it is advisable to use cellophane or polyethylene - otherwise, chapping is inevitable. Next, you need a round blank of foam, which can be wrapped in corrugated paper.
All the skewers on which the ingredients were previously strung are stuck into this part in turn. Most often, the largest element is inserted into the middle, and a future bouquet is formed around it. The round bases are turned and gradually stick in the sticks, focusing on the center. Firm fixation of the rods is achieved by pulling them at the point of crossing with adhesive tapes. At this point, the craft is almost ready.
You also need to take a piece of bright paper. A piece of foam is placed in the middle of the canvas. Later:
- the entire workpiece is packed so that the foam does not stick out;
- configuring the paper so that it looks like a bouquet;
- a couple of sheets of plain paper are folded diagonally;
- step by step they wrap the craft with bent canvases;
- fasten it with a glue gun or stapler;
- fix such a package with a satin ribbon, from which a bow is created.
Phased production from marshmallows
By itself, marshmallows are not very suitable for making a bouquet. But if you combine it with marshmallows and marmalade, you get a gorgeous option.
Important: in order for all the advantages of such a composition to manifest, it is necessary to use elegant vases, plastic buckets and other similar containers.
To work on the master class you will need:
- the same capacity;
- a large apple that can be placed on the bottom of this container;
- 40 to 50 culinary skewers;
- glue gun and hot glue;
- satin ribbons (1 light green, 1 red polka dot);
- thin corrugated paper - yellow and red;
- round large double marshmallow (in chocolate or regular) - 5 pieces;
- 0.4 kg of colored and white marshmallows;
- 100-150 g of gelatinous bears;
- colored candied marmalade - 200 g;
- gelatinous tongues - 200 g;
- 1 biscuit roll;
- 100 g of round two-color marmalade.
The first step in the walkthrough is to tie the container with tape. The bow and additional decor must be fixed to the circle with hot glue. The apple, which will be placed inside, must first be washed. Its edges are held in place with white marshmallows. Next, you need to slightly shorten 5 skewers.
Large fragments of marshmallow and pieces of marmalade are planted on them (always in this sequence). You need to stick the skewers into the apple in such a way that the gaps between them are even. Next, you need to place the marmalade and marshmallows on sticks. It is undesirable to overfill the skewers - otherwise the base of the sweets will be hidden, and it will not work to put a large number of skewers. When it's ready, you need to make rings out of the gelatinous tongues and pierce them.
Biscuit rolls are sometimes cut into slices, which are also pierced with chopsticks. But this is purely on a personal request. Then it is very important to saturate the bouquet more tightly from the inside with skewers, on which various delicacies are planted.
The number of sweets is selected so that it matches the dimensions of the container. If you suddenly did not have enough sweet fillings, you can find a way out if you yourself close the gaps with pieces of tape painted with polka dots.
Further:
- cut out red and yellow paper triangles;
- decorate the perimeter of the basket with paper;
- cover the craft with cling film so that it stays longer.
But you can collect for a girl not a simple marshmallow bouquet, but a composition based on marshmallows. This exquisite sweetness goes well with regular marshmallows and other confectionery products, including chocolates and caramel.
It is necessary to work strictly with gloves. If this rule is violated, then not only the hygienic properties of the used sweets deteriorate, but the actions are complicated. In itself, the feeling of clammy hands is extremely unpleasant.
- If you plan to add fruits, they are washed in advance and placed on napkins to dry. Large fruits are cut into halves, and sometimes into smaller slices. Slices are coated with a small amount of dense jelly. Thanks to this, nothing will dry out or fray. Then all the parts of the planned bouquet are strung on skewers and laid out like this on the table (which is preliminarily covered with cling film).
- As usual, the layout is carried out in a spiral manner from the center. Skewers converge and cross at one point. Ordinary scotch tape helps to prevent them from spilling. To fill the gaps between large details, branches of young mint and other improvised means are used. As soon as the size of the bouquet turns out to be large enough, the composition is fixed with tape tightly, and then the excessively protruding lower sections of the skewers are cut off with a secateurs.
- In order for the place for which the bouquet is to be held to be preserved better, it is necessary to wind foil, film or matter on it. Thin adhesive tape perfectly fixes the packaging of the bouquet. You can mask the tape with lace, ribbons, braid. The whole process should take place in the cleanest possible environment.
It is extremely important: you need to make a sweet bouquet directly on the day of the celebration, in extreme cases - on the eve of the significant day.
Bouquet ideas with additional ingredients
If you are already tired of ordinary marshmallows or marshmallows, you can make a bouquet of various types of flowers from them. Most often, sweets are combined with roses. These assemblies can be large or miniature, classic or avant-garde. Roses are best paired with traditional round marshmallows. It is easy to decorate the assembly with marmalade or cylindrical marshmallows.
The outer shell is exquisite paper, sometimes a net for floristic work. The craft is decorated with lace, satin ribbons.
You can just put the finished bouquet in a box. The stems of the roses will have to be pruned. The buds are laid out as tightly as possible. It must be remembered that marshmallows will take part of the box. If desired, it is placed in the center or spread out, creating blotches. Whether to use the product glazed or unglazed depends on personal taste. Occasionally, macaroni cakes are added to the gift set. But at the same time, they make sure that they match the color of the rest of the composition.
Some experienced people make their own flowers from marshmallows. Its softness and plasticity is just perfect for making roses. You can combine the buds prepared in this way with natural ones, and even make a combined gift basket.
Especially well natural roses made from sweets, even half-open ones, show themselves when decorating a composition in discreet pastel colors. The emphasis on visual softness and simplicity is very important.
But one must understand that a good bouquet can be made only through painstaking work. Any mistake can be fatal. For work, it is recommended to use not ordinary, but disposable gloves. They are much more hygienic. Of the components you will need:
- pink or white marshmallow (necessarily unglazed);
- White roses;
- ordinary scotch tape;
- white satin ribbon;
- floristic mesh in two different colors;
- culinary skewers.
They start by pinning the marshmallow on skewers and laying it out on the table. When installed, sweet parts and natural flowers alternate. Their proportions and the specific order of alternation vary greatly. You can not adhere to any previously thought out scheme at all, but simply act on a whim, how beautiful it turns out. When the bouquets are ready, they are wrapped in pink, then white netting.
The edges of the mesh must be folded very carefully. Their appearance logically complements this composition. The end is a satin bow. You can, of course, use bows made of other materials. However, the atlas is more elegant and therefore more preferable.
You can also make a bouquet with cookies. It is best to use crackers. You will also need to work:
- vanilla marshmallow;
- berry marshmallow;
- chocolates, the wrapper of which is twisted on one side.
All pieces of marshmallow are tightly wrapped in cling film. The edges of the cellophane are twisted downwards. They do the same with every cookie. The edges of the candy wrapper are wrapped around skewers. As such, they are secured with adhesive tapes.
Next you will need:
- without removing the marshmallow from the film, pierce it one by one with sticks, orienting the edges of the cellophane downward;
- fix such assemblies with thin tape wound on sticks to the middle;
- put cookies on the rods in the same way;
- crossing the blanks with different marshmallows in the middle of the skewer, clamp them with wide tape;
- add 1 cookie, 1 candy, fix the bouquet again;
- continue working until a volumetric composition appears;
- cut a rectangular piece of wrapping paper;
- bend it in half along the short edge;
- align the sides;
- cut along the fold;
- make another similar segment;
- lay a bouquet obliquely in one piece of paper;
- wrap it in the remaining panels, making sure that the edges look like real petals;
- tie the bouquet at the bottom with a silk ribbon, and make a bow.
Tips for Beginners
Any business, including the preparation of sweet bouquets, has a number of secrets. Here is some of them.
- It should be borne in mind that marshmallows and other sweets are tender, even fragile. Rough treatment of them is unacceptable. It is imperative that you set aside more time to work without haste and excessive effort. Even for the shortest time, unless the sweet bouquet is planned to be handed over immediately, it should be wrapped with cling film, foil. In the absence of both, an ordinary bag of cellophane or polyethylene comes to the rescue.
- You need to put an impromptu bouquet in a cool place. It is necessary to ensure that nothing is pressing on him. It's even better to use an extra outer box to make shipping easier.
- Sometimes it is difficult to determine the moment at which to tighten the ligaments. For beginners, a clue is the following nuance: at this moment it turns out to be difficult to squeeze the sticks.
- Bouquets of marshmallows and other sweets may not please all people. Small children, those who suffer from dental problems and from a number of other pathologies, it is better to present other gifts. All this, as well as susceptibility to allergic reactions, it is better to find out from the gifted in advance, unobtrusively, but as accurately as possible. It is desirable that marshmallows and all other edible components of the gift consist only of natural and safe ingredients. Therefore, it is definitely not worth saving on their purchase.
- It is hardly worth giving bright sweets with a lot of dyes. It is better to decorate the composition from the outside and focus on its taste. The packaging is selected or prepared in advance, without delaying it until the last moment. Boxes or baskets should always be used if there is no confidence in the stability of the created bouquet. It will be very disappointing if it falls apart a few meters from the target.
