How to assemble a bouquet in a spiral?
To form a bouquet, it is not enough just to choose flowers and combine them into an armful. So that they do not get confused on the way to the addressee, they are combined into a spiral assembly and tied away from the buds.
Advantages and disadvantages
Advantages of the spiral folding of the bouquet.
- Possibility to add to roses, for example, some field species. You will get an assorted bouquet.
- The lesson develops creative imagination, takes the flower seller to a new level. This will directly affect the volume of its sales, for example, by March 8th.
- This is one of the best ways to add some extra romance to a relationship, perhaps to spice it up.
- Even a physicist and a mathematician will be able to express feelings: he will make a spiral bouquet perfectly exactly, which will make the quality of such a gift impeccable even for the most discerning lady who notices any little things. Figuratively speaking, flowers are straight, and a spiral is a smooth curve.
- The bouquet, made in the form of a spiral, is very stable, does not fall apart even with strong shaking during transportation.
Disadvantages of rolling roses and / or other flowers in a spiral. An incorrectly composed bouquet will not be spiral, but straight.
- Incorrectly selected flowers, for example, the alternation of the length of roses, will turn out to be partially overlapped: the flowers still overlap.
- It is required to remove thorns from roses and representatives of other species where thorns are present. To speed up the trimming of thorns, special scissors may be required, otherwise the thorns will tear the decorative tape, and the strapping with colored tape may turn out to be crooked.
- A spiral planting for potted species is not possible: the roots and the aboveground part must grow evenly, perpendicular to the ground at the base.
- The spiral bouquet is more difficult to put in a vase due to the divergence of not tightly tied flowers. You need a longer tape or tape.
As you can see, spiral arrangement of a bouquet is a little more complicated than usual. But the work is worth it: the result is a more creative approach to composing a spiral armful or a small bundle of your favorite specimens than a simple assembly of a classic bouquet, which for a laugh is called a broom or a broom.
Flowers folded in a spiral look much more harmonious.
What flowers are right for you?
Roses are one of the most durable and versatile flowers as such. The high strength of the stem and the large bud give the bouquet a splendor. The spiral bouquet allows you to form a spherical or heart-shaped pattern, the points in which are the buds themselves.
Chrysanthemums are devoid of thorns, they acquire volume even in a small bouquet.
Carnations are more of an addition than a staple. Can complement any large flowers.
The combination of several types of flowering plants will make the bouquet versatile.
Step-by-step instructions for drawing up
Experienced florists will teach beginners to collect exquisite and luxurious bouquets. Floristry is a whole industry that employs professionals in the industry that organizes parties and celebrations.
First, decide what kind of flowers you need. The main flower - in the center of the bouquet - must be especially strong: it keeps the shape of the whole set.
The ideal "candidate" for this place is a rose.
To trim the stems from below, you will need well-sharpened scissors or a pruner (hedge cutter), it will form a perfectly even cut, thanks to which the flower will absorb a sufficient amount of moisture. In the future, it will last longer than a specimen with a random cut. None of the flowers should sink in the general bouquet, or, conversely, stick out with a bud upward.
For tying the stems, you need a decorative tape or cord.
It is worth removing thorns from roses.
Aim the center flower as a reference point.
Move the second and each subsequent one to the right of the center axis. Fix the intersecting stems at the point of their intersection. Place the third flower behind the second, also tilted.
The curve shown by the buds of other flowers as they are attached will rush to the left, while the stems of the added flowers will surround the central one at the same (or slightly different) angle of inclination.
The perfect bouquet, composed according to the spiral tying technique, consists entirely of roses.
Ordinary roses are well complemented by any of their bush varieties, and between them, for example, a carnation is woven. The latter adds contrast to the entire composition. White and whitish pink flowers - anything, including tulips - will make the composition less harsh. All of the above flowers are decorated with berries or weaved with ikebana. The bouquet in which annual branches are gathered around the lignified one will become unique, individual - it sets the rigidity and shape. This is a composite composition.
The intersection of flowers closer to the buds will make the bouquet narrower, and closer to the cut ends - more voluminous; a cross between the two previous binding patterns will be obtained when tying flowers in the center.
Shortening the branches will make the bouquet look more miniature, and leaving them in their original state will make them longer and larger.
The presence of leaves on the same roses, as well as fresh greens, will give the composition more freshness. In addition, the green foliage seems to protect the flowers from the sides. The assembled bouquet is tied from below - in a place where it will be held by hand or immersed in a vase.
In the second case, the strapping should not be too hard - the flowers should absorb water.
To extend the lifespan of cut flowers, lightly sugared water is poured into a vase.
How to tie stems?
The binding of flowers is needed so that the bouquet does not disintegrate during transportation. The road to the girl, strewn with flowers, is an element of special romance, but nevertheless it is more pleasant for her to receive a whole, and not a “half” or almost empty bouquet, from which most of the flowers have spilled out. A simple approach is the usual strapping with a decorative cord, but an additional luxury of the composition will be given by an elegant packaging, or rather, a wrapper for the stems of a spiral bouquet. In either case, the bouquet will be tied correctly and reliably.
In some cases, the strapping is performed over the festive wrapper - or a secondary strapping is made, while the primary is hidden under the wrapper.
Tips for Beginners
Make sure the secateurs are sharpened. Messy and uneven pruning that looks like scrapping will not keep flowers fresh for long. The bouquet is cut only after assembly and dressing - the flowers will have the same length.
If the flower is placed in front, it tilts to the right. Behind - the other way around. This fully applies to both round and compositions of any shape.
The cleaning of the thorns of roses is carried out only to the level where the finger coverage ends before strapping.
