How to make a kraft paper bag?

Compared to classic plastic bags, kraft paper provides long-term storage, for example, of cereals and seeds, since it is a "breathing" medium. Some confectionery sweets are also able to preserve in it, for example: sweets, cookies.

Plain paper, for example, newsprint, in comparison with craft paper, does not have a pronounced color, for example, brown. In shade, the latter resembles ordinary cardboard made of wood-fiber material that does not have artificial additives: dyes, bleaches, etc. It is an environmentally friendly product, no plastic filler is introduced into it, which gives it additional strength.

In addition to craft paper, a novice craftsman will need a simple glue made from starch paste. Of the tools you need only scissors, a hole punch and a stationery knife.

A step-by-step master class on assembling a craft package looks like this:

• cut off the piece of paper you need to assemble the package, checking the drawing with its original length and width parameters;

• fold the top side and edges inward;

• stick double-sided tape on one of the sides of the workpiece;

• connect both sides to each other.

The resulting workpiece has no bottom. To form it, follow these steps:

• bend the bag from the bottom;

• tuck the corner sides (bottom and top) towards the central part;

• connect these sides with a piece of double-sided tape;

• bend back the previously bent side parts;

• bend the same edges inward.

The main work on the formation of the package has been completed. To modify the product, do the following.

1. Using a hole punch, punch the holes to secure the handles.

2. Prepare pieces of string for them.

3. Tighten them from the outside through these holes, threading the ends through them.

4. Tie the ends into a knot - individually. You don't need to put them together.

Using stamps, the kraft paper bag is additionally decorated in a handmade style. You can print a caption to indicate that no factory assembly was used to make the bag.

• It is possible to make a bag of kraft paper with your own hands in the form of a multi-colored gift item. Whether it is green or brown, red or blue - the complexity of coloring the product will not increase from this. If the task is to repaint such a package in darker and similar colors, for example, brown to brown, then there is no need to use special paints. But there is no need to use synthetic compounds used by painters: the bag will be saturated with them, it will become more solid and fragile, and most importantly, it will lose the health safety of both the gift giver and its recipient.

• The color of craft paper, despite its strong tone, allows the use, for example, of paints like white gouache, with which sometimes they gloss over correctable spelling errors in handwritten text. Thus, you can paint even an initially black bag in white, if craft paper were such - there are no restrictions on the color scheme.

• As original design attributes, they apply their own author's logo, abstraction in the form of arbitrary or orderly repeating lines. The texture processing solution is not limited by anything other than the artist's imagination.

• For dried fruits and nuts, these are the best bags to use. If their contents are not wet, then it can be stored at room temperature and the absence of insect pests for almost a month.

• Paper bags with handles do not hold more than a kilogram or more. No matter how strong craft paper is, like any paper product, it will tear. Packages that were stored in a crumpled state and were often shifted from place to place are also torn apart.

• To glue a large bag, use a thicker, stronger paper. For large items, use proportionally larger amounts of kraft paper. A variant is also common in which several layers of such paper are used: a similar approach is relevant when making bags for building materials (cement, expanded clay, seeded and washed sand, etc.). The process of manufacturing a multilayer bag will be somewhat complicated due to additional layers that give it the required strength. The purpose of making such a product is to carry a gift, whatever it turns out to be, weighing up to several kilograms.

• The size of the craft package is not limited. Even a well-preserved bag of sand or cement can be used under kraft paper by blowing it thoroughly, removing the remnants of building material that was stored in it. But you cannot pack edible surprises in bags made of the same cement or gypsum.

To craft a cone-shaped craft bag, do the following:

• roll the kraft paper bag in the image and likeness of a bag for seeds;

• glue the end - the top of the cone should not diverge.

It is better to print templates for kraft bags on craft paper rather than on ordinary printer paper.The high-quality device is capable of printing any text and image, even on notebook sheets, while its printing system will not be damaged. Despite the fact that craft paper is "dusty" compared to printer paper, a high-quality laser printer will cope with it. After printing a pattern and / or texture, you can quickly fold such a blank using any of the above schemes.

As a template, any drawing that matches the shade of this paper in color tones is suitable.

The template, already fully prepared for printing on craft material, takes into account the most common assembly schemes for such a package. At the same time, patterns and textures will not appear on the edge, bottom or sides, from where they may be invisible. The brighter the template drawing, the higher the recipient of the gift will appreciate your work of art.... So, red, orange, pink and yellow colors are perfectly combined with the color of this material. However, lilacs, purples and blues, as well as greens superimposed on the tone of craft paper, look unnatural.
