Peculiarities of skiing holidays
Every year more and more people decide to spend their vacation not on the beach, but in a ski resort, and there are many reasons for this. Active winter activities are a lot of fun and good for your health. In addition, breathtaking views of mighty mountains, fresh air and acquaintances by interests are much more attractive for many than a ticket to warmer regions. However, it is important to remember that skiing can be dangerous. And your safety is completely up to you, since the staff of the ski centers will not be able to fully protect you from injury.
Therefore, before you go skiing in Montenegro, be sure to study the important recommendations.
- Do not neglect the services of instructors... Many beginners think that skiing or snowboarding is very easy and they can do it right away. Or friends and parents decide they are competent enough in the learning survey and take it upon themselves. However, most accidents on the slopes occur precisely because of the lack of technique and culture of skiing, which just a competent instructor can instill. In just a couple of lessons, you will learn how to behave on the slope, master the basic technique. This will save you tons of time.
- Evaluate your strengths correctly... If you only started skiing or snowboarding a couple of days ago, choose simple prepared tracks with markings and gentle slopes. You should not ride in the forest on unprepared slopes. So you put yourself and others in great danger.
- Do not ride while intoxicated. Bars and clubs are open even after the ski lifts are closed. Moreover, there is even a special term "après-ski", which implies rest after a day on the ski slope.
- Choose the right clothing. Always dress appropriately for the weather and be aware that skiing clothing differs significantly from everyday clothing. Jackets and pants must have a membrane that quickly removes steam and moisture and does not get wet. Forget about your grandma's chunky sweaters and go for tech Polartec or fleece pullovers. Follow the rule of layering: first thermal underwear, then a pullover, then a jacket. Socks should also be special: long and reinforced in certain places.
- Don't ride alone. Even large groups of vacationers often split up and ride separately. If you are on a simple prepared slope, this is not critical. However, it is definitely not worth going on a freeride alone.
- Choose your equipment wisely. If you are not versed in skiing or snowboarding, contact the professionals from the rental or store. The equipment must be in good condition, suitable for your height, weight and level of riding.
This is a minimum of advice that should not be neglected. So you will make your vacation at the ski resort not only interesting and rich, but also safe.
Now you know that in beautiful Montenegro you can not only go on excursions and buy souvenirs. Choose active leisure activities more often and remember that there is no better souvenir from your vacation than vivid memories and emotions.
