When a child is passionate about the wonderful art of dancing, it is the parent's job to keep them going to succeed. For professional classes, special costumes are required in which your son or daughter will perform on stage... A well-chosen outfit will make the dance more impressive and fully reveal the stage image.

When sewing such an outfit, of course, the peculiarities of the structure of the child's body and its proportions are taken into account. Plus, a kid's costume shouldn't be overly revealing. Children's outfits for serious final performances are usually made to order in the atelier, since it is very problematic to get such high-quality clothes in the store. In addition, in the store it is unrealistic to find the right number of suits of certain sizes for a creative team. And individual tailoring, among other things, also guarantees the exclusivity of the outfits.

As for the rehearsals, the girls' main clothing is a swimsuit (of the same color for all participants). The leotard allows the choreographer to fully appreciate the dance moves of their students. Often these clothes are complemented by skirts or leggings of the same color. In addition, you can find a swimsuit with elements already sewn on. Boys 'training clothes, unlike girls' ones, hardly differ from competition costumes.

In kindergarten, kids also dance as part of music lessons. This is very useful: the child receives physical activity, develops a beautiful posture, a sense of rhythm, overcomes shyness. And for performances at matinees, parents should also take care of fancy dance costumes. (the requirements for them, of course, will not be as high as for models for professional performances).

So, modern dance does not make any specific requirements for the costume, while in some types of dance the costume plays a special role and has its own specifics.

For jazz, a shiny look will be key. It could be a sequined vest for a boy and a sparkling girlish skirt. For this dance, defiantly bright, flashy costumes will be appropriate.

Hip-hop suits are very creative. Often there is a combination of loose pants with a sleeveless jacket with a hood. Again, a shiny shirt comes in handy. This energetic dance involves a particularly durable and safe outfit (no need to wear scarves and chains).

For Russian folk dance girls will need characteristic sundresses, and boys will need smart shirts and caps of the appropriate color scheme. It is clear that the dances of other peoples (for example, the Caucasian) require appropriate national costumes.

As for ballet, young dancers, first of all, should have pointe shoes and several comfortable elastic leotards. For girls, a tutu is also required. The colors of ballet costumes are mostly restrained - they are universal black plus pink, nude in their various combinations.

• Shiny bodice, often decorated with monisto, rhinestones, exquisite embroidery.
• Skirt made of translucent thin fabric, which seems to flow in a dance. It can be of different lengths (from model to knee to maxi), with or without a cut. The skirt adds a special mystery to the image of a young dancer, complementing her movements.
• Trousers as an alternative to a skirt, they look just as delicious. Moreover, you can make this thing yourself - connect two pareos at the waist and around the ankles.
• Belt or scarf... This element, tied over a skirt (trousers), is designed to accentuate the movement of the hips. An accessory with a monisto sewn to it provides the "tinkling" effect necessary in some dances. In addition, the monisto makes the weight of the belt heavier, and it is easier for the dancer to feel the beat.
• Decorations - a lot of shiny bracelets on the arms and legs, massive earrings, interesting rings, multi-layered necklaces, hair accessories.

Themed dances for children are also worth mentioning. A choreographer or music director in kindergarten can stage a dance in the form of a costume play. Carnival outfits - for example, pirates or clowns - come in handy here. Some productions include unique characters (for example, Disney characters), and buying such a costume for one time is irrational (especially if the kid does not perform on stage, but just at a matinee in kindergarten). Therefore, you need to think in advance: is it possible to make an outfit from improvised means. For example, the Princess can be portrayed with a colored wig, crown, and any fancy dress. The pirate's outfit is combined with an eye patch, an open shirt, a black bandana and trousers.

Choose, of course, comfortable clothes that will not hinder the baby's movements. (choose elastic material) and thus distract him during performance. The fabric of the product should not irritate delicate skin. Leotards for rehearsals should not rub, tighten the figure unnecessarily, or, conversely, fall off the body.

In addition, it should be borne in mind that children grow quickly, and clothes should be tailored so that it is not difficult to adjust the size if necessary. As mentioned above, it is advisable for parents to sew a children's costume for a performance to order so that it is not impersonal and emphasizes the individuality of the child.
