School shoes go a long way. It determines the appearance of its owner, influences his mood, well-being and self-perception. The choice of school shoes is not as easy as it seems at first glance.

Parents should choose a model that matches the wishes of the child and at the same time meets the conditions of the educational institution. It is also important that the footwear is safe and hygienic. It is especially difficult to purchase shoes for girls, because they pay attention to the external attractiveness of the shoes.

Models

Modern manufacturers offer a fairly extensive selection of shoes suitable for school. Let's consider the most popular models.

Mary Jane

A traditional model for schoolgirls of all ages. Mary Jane shoes feature a rounded toe, an instep strap and a stable heel. These comfortable and fashionable shoes are sure to please any girl.

The material for such a model, most often, is leather, suede or a combination of both. For the school, the best choice will be classic colors - black, white or brown. Here it is worth considering the shade of the school uniform. Mary Jane shoes are presented in various variations. Among them, you can easily find shoes for both a first grader and a graduate.

Ballet shoes

This model resembles pumps without a heel. These shoes are extremely lightweight and comfortable. The classic version is presented with a rounded toe, more fashionable - with a barely pointed one. Both are good for school. When buying ballet flats, remember that experts do not recommend wearing these shoes often. The flat sole does not evenly distribute the load on the foot. Shoes with a small, stable heel wins in this regard. However, for a change, ballet flats are great.

These shoes are made from matte or patent leather, suede or textiles. The color of the ballet flats can be any, however, for the school, beige or black will be the preferred option. Models with a modest decor, such as a small bow, look interesting.

Loafers

Like the previous model, this shoe is devoid of fasteners, which makes it very comfortable. Loafers have a moccasin-like appearance. They are distinguished only by the presence of a solid sole with a small heel.

Loafers are distinguished by tassels and laconic fringes. These shoes can be combined with different school uniforms.

Oxfords

This model is a lace-up shoe. They are somewhat reminiscent of low shoes.

At first it was a purely men's shoe, however, now it is presented in both women's and children's variations. Oxfords are comfortable and at the same time fit well with the school look.

The best outfit is a school dress, a sundress or a skirt, but here it is better to refuse classic trousers.

You can choose a cropped trousers model.

Slipons

Today slip-ons are considered the most popular footwear. They are slippers with a round toe and thick soles.

Slip-ons are made of suede, leather and textiles. For school shoes, choose slip-on sneakers in a classic design.

How to choose?

As already noted, choosing school shoes is not an easy task. Correctly selected footwear is a guarantee of healthy legs, correct posture and a beautiful gait. When buying shoes for school, pay attention to the following details:

The size

One of the most embarrassing moments is the wrong shoe size. When your shoes rub or pinch your feet, it not only hurts, but also distracts you from studying. Buying footwear "for growth" is also not recommended. After all, walking in large shoes is extremely uncomfortable. The maximum stock should be 1 cm.

Rise and fullness

Comfortable wearing of shoes depends not only on the nominal size, but also on the width and height of the rise. Correctly fitted shoes should not be felt on the foot. If your shoes feel tight or crush during fitting, don't buy them hoping they will wear out.

Ergonomic insole

Good quality shoes have a complex insole with ventilation holes. You need to buy orthopedic insoles only after consulting a doctor, since instep supports are selected individually.

Natural materials

It is best to buy children's shoes made of genuine leather, textiles or suede. If possible, you should not buy models made of artificial materials.

Elastic outsole

In shoes for children, the sole should bend well, but at the same time it should not be very thin. Also note that the outsole is non-slip. This will help avoid possible injuries and falls.

High quality fittings

If you choose shoes with fasteners, then make sure that they unfasten and fasten without problems, but at the same time securely fix the leg.

Heel

Children don't need to wear flat shoes. Shoes should have a small, stable heel. Girls under 10 are allowed to wear shoes with a heel of no more than 2.5 cm. At the age of 10-12 years, a heel of up to 4 cm is permissible. Girls over 14 years of age are allowed a heel of up to 6 cm. But an important condition is the fact that the heel must be stable, in the form of a brick, by no means a stiletto heel! An alternative option is wedge shoes.

Shoe weight

The lighter the shoes are, the more likely the student will not get tired in them. Uncomfortable and weighty shoes are considered one of the reasons for quick fatigue.

Appearance

A prerequisite for buying shoes is that the owner herself should like the shoes. But don't forget that they should be presented in a business style.

When buying school shoes for your child, avoid certain items. These include tight socks, high heels, and uncomfortable last. It is important for elementary school students to buy shoes that are firmly attached to their feet.

How to find the correct size?

We have already said that shoe size is important. In order not to make a mistake when buying, shoes must be tried on. Let's talk about some of the rules for trying on children's shoes.

  • During the fitting, the child should be standing and lean well on a straightened leg.
  • If the model has a removable insole, remove it and attach the child's foot to it. So you can understand how much space is left in stock. If the insole cannot be pulled out, the child should push the leg as far as possible. In the optimal size, the resulting distance should not be greater than the width of the finger.
  • Many trendy models have a pointed toe. It is necessary to estimate and understand whether the width of the shoe is comparable to the width of the foot. The toes in the shoe should be in a natural position, not pinched or twisted.
  • When trying on, ask your child to bend the knee. If the toe of the shoe adjusts to the shape of the foot, this is a suitable model. If they are roughly resting on the leg, look for another option.
  • Do not forget to evaluate the reliability of the decor. See how securely the bows, rhinestones, and lacing are attached.
