The development and formation of a child actively occurs in the first years of his life. Parents should be responsible for these processes and help the baby to develop correctly. When a child takes his first steps, it is time to choose his first shoes. Parents should acquire models for the first steps of their child, paying attention not at all to the appearance. Since the feet go through a long process of formation, the active phase of which occurs in the first three years of a child's life, nursery shoes for toddlers should be selected correctly.

Today there are many types of nursery shoes: sandals and boots, as well as shoes of various designs, fill the shelves of children's stores. However, you should buy shoes only from trusted manufacturers, whose shoes are certified and meet all the requirements.

• The use of natural materials. Due to the imperfection of the heat exchange system in babies, nursery shoes should be made only of natural materials - leather or textiles. The properties of these materials will protect the baby's feet from overheating and excessive sweating.

• Rigid forefoot and heel counter. The back part should reach the ankle and fit snugly against the baby's leg. The toes of children's shoes are usually rounded and wide, which allows the toes to be freely positioned inside the shoe. Closed toe shoes should be preferred to protect your toes from impact.

• Orthopedic insole. The insole of the toddler shoe should have an instep support - a dense rise on the inside of the insole. This mechanism distributes the load over the entire surface of the foot, which allows the legs not to get tired while walking.

• Tight fixation. Another important condition of the shoe for the first steps is the fasteners for tight fixation on the leg. Usually the role of fasteners is performed by Velcro, which is easiest for a child to fasten. Some models have laces.

• The right size. Nursery shoes should be no more than one centimeter larger than the baby's foot. Shoes must be tried on directly on the baby's leg, or a blank with the outline of the leg should be inserted inside. The outside of the shoe does not match the actual shoe size.

In kindergartens, it is not allowed to bring slippers and other soft types of shoes as replacement shoes. Closed-toe shoes are the best option, possibly with slits for better ventilation.

If the parents do not have the funds to purchase leather shoes, then you should choose a pair of shoes in which at least the inner part is made of natural materials.

The child's leg grows very quickly, so the shoes are changed about once every six months. If you find traces of shoes after wearing, you should replace the old pair of shoes with new ones of a larger size.
