Children's roll-out sofa: features and selection

Organizing a child's room can be difficult. In addition to the work and play area, the child needs his own place to rest - both during the day and at night. You can get a full-fledged sleeping place and save room space using a sofa equipped with a roll-out mechanism. Finding a sofa suitable for a child is not difficult, but you need to take into account many nuances.

All sofas with a transform function have quite a few positive characteristics:

• they save space;
• can be used as a place to sleep, play, watch cartoons;
• they are practical and replace part of the furniture (this will save time and money);
• have a wide selection of models for every taste;
• construction and materials are safe, they are designed for long-term use and intense stress.

But it is roll-out sofas that are better suited for a children's room. Their main advantage is that it is easier for a child to control such a structure. Moreover, children's models are designed so that the children themselves are engaged in expanding the sofa, and they can do it. Of course, at the initial stage, the intervention of adults will be required, but usually such mechanisms are of interest even to babies.

There are not so many varieties of roll-out sofas. If parents want the sofa to last longer, then it is worth choosing a more discreet design, because the tastes of children change with age.

Each upholstered furniture manufacturer has its own dimensional grid, however, most of them can make a custom sofa. For children under 14 years old, a single bed is quite suitable, but it should not be already 80 cm.

The length of the berth is always taken with a margin. This parameter for children's models can, on average, reach 180 cm (in the unfolded state). To find out the length that is comfortable for the child, add 25-30 cm to his height.If the children are very small, and the space of the room allows, you can order a wide sofa (from 120 cm). Then the baby will be able to sleep on it for the first time without rolling out additional parts.

The height of the product depends on the length of its sliding part and the built-in mechanism. For children under 5 years old, it is better to choose the lower option. It should be remembered that the dimensions of the product are larger than the dimensions of the berth. Armrests and a massive backrest can take up to 20 cm from the usable area. This should be taken into account when choosing a place for furniture.

In the selection process, it is important to formulate the main criteria, which will help determine the appropriate option.

• It is necessary to consider all possible types of withdrawable mechanisms, their complexity and reliability. Only practice can show how easily the sofa can be brought into the open position.
• Pay attention to the materials of all parts... Natural wood is preferable for the frame of children's sofas, but plywood will be much cheaper and lighter. The metal frame is quite strong and reliable, but it will not affect the weight of the product for the better. It is better not to save on fittings, because the service life of the furniture depends on it. Another important point is the upholstery.The cover of a children's sofa should not only be beautiful, but also practical. It is better to choose a material that is dirt-repellent and easy to clean.
• It is necessary to make sure that the sofa does not harm the baby's health and makes his rest comfortable.... Among modern fillers for sleeping places, priority is given to polyurethane foam or latex. Spring blocks wear out faster and can cause spinal diseases.
