When buying a sofa, for most buyers the possibility of transforming it into a place to sleep comes to the fore. In this vein, the championship is confidently taken by the corner sofa-eurobook, the design features of which allow it to be used daily as a full-fledged bed. Furniture of this type is presented in many modifications, each of which has its own pros and cons.

Peculiarities

A corner sofa with a transformation mechanism "Eurobook" is a fairly simple version of upholstered furniture, which is very popular due to the ability to organize a good sleep and rest. This design provides two base units - a front pull-out sector and a drop-down rear panel. The mechanism has many advantages and is distinguished by extremely high performance characteristics:

  • when folded creates conditions for a healthy rest users of any body size;
  • simplicity of the transformation mechanism, which even a child can cope with without the help of adults;
  • below, under the pull-out sector are located volumetric trays for bed linen and other sleeping accessories;
  • if desired, you can always use the eurobook for sleeping and in an unfolded state - the seat at the sofa is quite wide, and thanks to the removable cushions, it can be further increased;
  • large selection of fillers - from cheap foam rubber to expensive orthopedic;
  • long operational period.

However, the Eurobook also has significant drawbacks:

  • the legs of this furniture during operation can push through and damage the floor;
  • when unfolded, the eurobook consists of a pair of blocks between which there is a gap - sleeping at this junction can be very uncomfortable;
  • with frequent unfolding of low-quality products, the service life is significantly reduced.

It is very simple to expand the corner eurobook, for this you need to perform a few simple steps.

  • Remove all pillows from the sofa.
  • Take the lower part of the seat and gently pull towards you. In some products, you will first have to raise this block a little, and only then pull it. Usually, the retractable segment has wheels that move along smooth guides - they allow it to move out without any physical effort until the wheels rest against the stoppers.
  • Then there will be only pull the back to you, and then lower it onto the bedding box.

As a result of all the manipulations, a spacious sleeping place is formed from two blocks located on a single level.

Views

There are 2 main models of corner sofas-eurobooks on sale, which differ from each other in the way of transformation.

  • Retractable. In this case, the seat panel moves forward by sliding the wheels. Such products are widespread due to the ease of unfolding and affordable cost.
  • Tick tock. Here, instead of runners at the sofa, levers are provided, they push the seat up and forward. A similar sofa unfolds in the same way as a retractable one, with the difference that the tick-tock should be raised and only then pulled towards you. Such structures are preferable, since the legs do not spoil the surface of the floor during transformation, and the unfolding and folding itself requires less effort.

Depending on the availability of armrests, all Eurobooks can be divided into 3 categories.

  • Without armrests. In this version, instead of armrests, elastic cushions are provided; when unfolded, they are removed. This furniture is optimal for tall users, since the sleeping place has practically no length restrictions.
  • With two armrests. This is a stylish sofa with an armrest upholstered with soft fabric or has a hard cover. A pair of handrails creates length restrictions, so this model can only be selected taking into account the user's height.
  • With one armrest... This type of furniture is optimal for small rooms, suitable for organizing comfortable sleep for users of different heights.

Dimensions (edit)

Modern furniture manufacturers do not have established standards for creating corner sofas-eurobooks in terms of their size, which is why buyers can choose the optimal model for any type of room. When choosing furniture, it is important to keep in mind that the back of such a product should be 3-5 cm away from the wall for trouble-free unfolding. In addition, there should be no obstacles in the direction of the extension of the lower segment. The length of the product is far from the only parameter that should be taken into account when choosing the optimal model. Of no small importance are also:

  • depth and width of the eurobook;
  • the height of the product in the highest position;
  • distance from seat to backrest or pillows;
  • bed parameters;
  • length from floor to seat;
  • in the presence of armrests - their sizes.

The most common sofas are with parameters 140x190 cm, as well as 140x200 cm - this is a classic standard, a model with dimensions of 160x200 cm is also in demand.

Materials and design

A wide variety of materials are used for the manufacture of sofas. So, for the production of frames, manufacturers choose the following.

  • Metal - such models are excellent in practicality, reliability and long service life. Models with such a skeleton are the most expensive ones.
  • Wood - this material meets all the criteria of environmental safety and hypoallergenicity, which is why wood is most often used for the manufacture of children's furniture.
  • MDF / chipboard - an economical material, it is suitable for the production of cheap furniture. However, the service life of such products is short. In addition, such furniture is not suitable for users with a large body weight, as well as for active children who like to use the furniture as a platform for jumping, somersaults and other exercises.

The variety of filler options allows you to purchase the most comfortable furniture for any budget.

  • Foam rubber. It is a cheap material, but it has a significant drawback - the foam rubber quickly crumples and deforms, therefore, the period of its operation is short.
  • Polyurethane foam... The material is characterized by high wear resistance and ability to keep its shape for a long time. Quite tough, therefore optimal for office furniture, as well as for users with spinal problems.
  • Foamed latex. Non-toxic, eco-friendly material, suitable for a good rest. Has the ability to follow the contours of the body and supports muscles during sleep.

Natural or artificial canvases can be used as upholstery. These are natural.

  • Cotton - material with high parameters of air permeability and hygroscopicity. Cotton is environmentally friendly, safe and hypoallergenic, therefore, this very fabric is most often used for the manufacture of children's furniture. With prolonged use, such upholstery lasts 5-6 years, and in order for the fabric to become more durable, it is treated with special impregnations that prevent rapid wear.
  • Jacquard - canvas with a relief structure and high density. The fabric has a long service life and does not fade when exposed to sunlight. Sofas with similar upholstery look very expensive. The disadvantages include difficulties in care and increased sensitivity to water.
  • Tapestry - This material resembles old fabrics, therefore it is used for rooms in a classic design. Tapestry upholstery is durable and environmentally friendly, presented in a wide selection of shades and textures. However, the material is prone to abrasion and burns out in ultraviolet rays.
  • Leather - for the manufacture of eurobooks it is rarely used, since such models are usually purchased by wealthy people who in this way seek to emphasize their social status and level of wealth, they do not need to save square meters in the house. The skin is hygroscopic, it is air permeable, and besides, it is easy and simple to care for it. However, with intensive use, this material cracks and has an unpleasant stickiness.

Such materials are distinguished from artificial materials.

  • Arpatek - a reliable synthetic fabric, which was originally created for car seats. It is distinguished by its density, in its texture arpatek is similar to leather, it is durable and resistant to tearing. Among the minuses, one can note the appearance of microcracks with prolonged use.
  • Scotchguard - modern fabric, visually reminiscent of jacquard, but much more affordable. Consists of a combination of natural and artificial fibers, has a long service life, is characterized by strength and resistance to dirt.

How to choose the right one?

Buying a sofa is a responsible business, since the user's healthy sleep largely depends on its quality. That is why, first of all, you should pay special attention to the convenience of using the sofa. Deciding to save money, you can get a bad mood and chronic insomnia with the furniture. The design must be durable and practical, so it is better to give preference to models with stable legs and a strong frame.

Be sure to appreciate the simplicity of the transformation of the product, a good sofa should fold and unfold without any effort. In addition, a high-quality product should be unpretentious in cleaning - the user should easily remove all stains with a regular vacuum cleaner and a damp cloth.
