There are beautiful places in Crimea that are not very well known. They can be confidently called “pearls” of the resort area. For example, the village of Partenit invites tourists to visit the incredibly picturesque Paradise Park. It is located in the Aivazovsky sanatorium, therefore it is often called the same.

Everyone who has been to this park calls it one of the finest examples of landscape art. Stylish, well-groomed green area harmoniously combines several areas of garden and park design. Here the aromas of roses are mixed with the scent of fresh needles, and the diversity of flora is successfully combined with the works of talented sculptors and architects. Let's take a closer look at this amazing place.

Description and history

Aivazovsky Park is a part of the health-improving complex. This delightful green area with ponds, waterfalls and exotic plants was created in 1966 on the site of vineyards.

The work was carried out for about 2 years. It was necessary to strengthen the coast, drill wells to optimize the position of groundwater, build terraces, and create reservoirs. Landscaping took place both by planting young seedlings, and by moving already adult specimens. The designers were able to successfully combine natural vegetation with cultures brought from other places. This can explain the fact that the ancient grove is located within the relatively young park.

Olive trees are already about 200 years old, which is impressive.

The creators combined elements of different cultures in the design of the territory. These are ancient Greek, Turkish, Italian, Russian and other motives.The influence of Greece is especially noticeable. Graceful sculptures depicting heroes of mythology, amphorae and other characteristic elements fit perfectly into the exotic greenery.

The figures of horses create associations with ancient brands. Delightful waterfalls and flower beds suggest the preferences of the powerful khans. Comfortable benches in the shade of dense alleys recreate the atmosphere of the Golden Age of the Russian aristocracy. You can also find here a tribute of respect and admiration for the traditions of distant peoples. For example, here is spectacular Japanese garden.

It is known that once here Pushkin, Griboyedov, Raevsky rested. A visit to the park by these outstanding personalities also did not pass without leaving a trace (this was reflected in the sculptural masterpieces).

As for the greenery, on the territory of "Paradise" you can see over 300 different types of plants. The area of 25 hectares contains about 15 thousand trees and about 40 thousand shrubs. Most of them are coniferous crops (cedars, pines, sequoias). Many are planted with groves. There are also tropical plants. Interesting cacti, cork oaks, large-flowered magnolias, cunningamias. The neighborhood of different shrubs and trees with palms seems surprising, but harmonious.

Numerous flowers cover the garden with a fragrant cloud of aromas. At the same time, everything is thought out to the smallest detail: when some crops fade, they are replaced by others. All plants are provided with drip irrigation.

It's usually not too hot in the park, even on the hottest day. Numerous water features (fountains, pools, waterfalls, streams) enhance comfort, creating the desired coolness.

Especially worth highlighting "Well of Temptations". It is believed that it helps to make any wishes come true. To do this, you need to lower your hand into the water, mentally concentrating on the dream. However, everything is not so simple, because the water here is icy. Hence the name of the mysterious place.

The terraces of the park offer a wonderful panorama of the village and its surroundings. This allows you to capture in photographs not only the beauty of the "Paradise" itself, but also other picturesque places of the Crimea.

The territory of the park is maintained in an immaculate condition. Employees monitor the cleanliness and order, the condition of plants and sculptures. The name in translation means "paradise", which is quite true.

A visit to this place always leaves tourists with a lot of positive emotions and enthusiastic memories.

Where is?

Crimean park "Paradise" is located in the village of Partenit, near the Ayu-Dag mountain. Once upon a time there was a small the village of Aivazovskoe. Now it is a sanatorium of the same name.

The majestic mountain, shrouded in mysterious legends, effectively contrasts with the green parkland. Paradise is not the property of the sanatorium. Therefore, anyone can enjoy its splendor, you just need to buy a ticket.

How to get there?

Tourists often complain about the inconvenience of the way from the center of Partenit to the park. The fact is that a connoisseur of such sights has to overcome a rather steep climb. To facilitate the task, you can use an electric car. However, this is the property of the sanatorium, and their number is small.

If you are not a vacationer in "Aivazovsky", you will need to get to the village first. You can take bus # 110 at the Yalta bus station. From Alushta you can take bus number 109. The way will take about half an hour, from Yalta it will take a little longer. The fare is standard.

You can also take a taxi or use your own transport. By car, you can reach the park in 15-20 minutes.

If you are driving your own car, you should follow the Yalta-Alushta highway. Before the bus stop "Partenit" you need to turn down. After going down about 4 km to the sea, you will see numerous parked cars and a shop. You need to park before reaching the intersection. Otherwise, you will pass by. It will be difficult to find a suitable place there.

Park infrastructure

As already mentioned, "Paradise" combines several types of landscape gardening design. The structure includes different zones, each of which has its own name:

  • staircase to them. Raevsky;
  • English Garden (a laconic but picturesque place with winding paths);
  • Landscape garden;
  • Italian garden;
  • Rock garden;
  • Garden of aromas;
  • Terrace garden;
  • Mexican garden;
  • Antique garden with olive grove;
  • Japanese garden;
  • Garden of Artemis;
  • Mountain stream garden.

From the main entrance there is a long staircase surrounded by cypress trees. It is named after Raevsky. Staying at different levels, you can enjoy the magnificent view from the observation platforms, admire the bronze sculptures.

Near the stairs, you can see Raevsky himself (or rather, his sculpture). The man is depicted with a collection of poems in his hands. Beautiful lampposts made of bronze please the eye.

The marble benches invite you to relax, while the antique-style gazebos create a magical atmosphere of the past.

Then the visitor opens a panorama of the bay and Cape Plaka. The views of the Crimean coastline are breathtaking. The entire path is accompanied by mountain streams, masterpieces of sculptors and rich colors of green spaces.

An observation deck is located at the base of the stairs. In addition to the impressive view of the endless sea, a surprise awaits the visitor here. Alexander Pushkin, thoughtfully leaning on a cane, enhances the romantic and dreamy mood created by the splendor of nature.

In summer, you can reach the bottom of the park by electric car. Of course, you will have to pay a little for such a pleasure.

Here tourists are met Landscape garden. The spectacular Mexican slide with succulents is popular with both adults and children. The gazebo stands out against the backdrop of natural beauty. There is a sculpture of the goddess Flora.

Next is Italian garden. It is an exquisite place with fountains and small ponds that create a serene atmosphere. There are many beautiful stones and, of course, green plants. As in other parts of the park, graceful sculptures can be found in this garden. Especially noteworthy is The Lady with the Veil. Tourists, as a rule, do not miss the opportunity to take a memorable photo of her.

After passing the Garden of Aromas and the Terrace Garden, the visitor comes out onto the embankment. It leads along palm alleys and interesting sculptures. These are dolphins splashing in the water and mysterious nymphs. Park heroes of Greek myths fit well into a recreation area with a heavenly name. For example, the sculpture of Poseidon, menacingly examining his possessions, attracts the eye. The composition is complemented by the sea goddess Amphitrite.

Having passed the gods of the sea, a person enters a pine grove. Here you can relax on a bench and enjoy the scent of pine needles to your heart's content. Natural aromatherapy is a nice bonus to the aesthetic planting.

There are separate beaches for visitors to the park. They are numbered 5 and 6. On a hot day, you can swim here.

The main thing is not to get wet and not to lose the ticket. Otherwise, you will not be able to get back to the park.

Walking along the sea, the tourist gets to the Antique Garden. There is also an olive grove. According to most visitors, this part of the park is a real masterpiece. Refined bridges, ringing streams, alpine slides, elegant gazebos - everything here causes delight and admiration.

Especially interesting is the snow-white rotunda, specially delivered to the Crimea from Italy. The domed roof and columns blend harmoniously into the overall concept. Also, the gazebo is famous for its powerful acoustic effect (increasing the volume of the voice).

It should be noted separately Mexican garden. A riot of bright colors, succulents, fruit trees - all this creates a hot atmosphere of Mexico. The zone is located in the sunniest place in the park, which is also no coincidence.

But the greatest achievement of the creators of the park is Japanese garden. It is an incredibly atmospheric area with bonsai and stone slides.Ponds with neat bridges, a tea house - everything here corresponds to oriental traditions. However, the history of the creation of this part of "Paradise" is not easy.

Japanese garden

The design of the zone with a Japanese theme was conceived in 2010. The object was opened for a while, but then closed again to complete the work. The planning was entrusted to landscape designer Shiro Nakana. The plot was allocated a small one - only 1 hectare. However, the work was carried out for almost 8 years.

Many were waiting for the discovery of this miracle and were not disappointed. Years of painstaking work have allowed to recreate a real piece of Japan in the resort area.

The entire landscape has been redesigned. Textured stones were delivered from different parts of the world. Due to the specificity, many of the work was done by hand. Steps and walking paths were carefully laid out, unique plants were carefully planted. Many crops had to be quarantined before planting. This was the only way they could adapt to unfamiliar conditions.

The garden is decorated with spectacular cascading waterfalls and beautiful ponds. Camellia pleases with its delicate flowers from the beginning of winter to March. Other shrubs and trees are selected so that some replace others in their flowering and fruiting. Of course, there are some bonsai trees in the garden in Japanese vases.

Man-made objects complete the harmonious composition. These are traditional bridges, lanterns, and other decorative elements.

The favorite place of most tourists is the center of the garden. There is a mirror lake and a Tea House.

In the future, it is planned to populate the reservoir with carps.

Overall the garden is perfect. This is a whole Eastern concept that is important to understand and feel. That is why a visit to this area involves a walk with a guide. Especially symbolic is the path to the house, made of hemp, located on the impeccable surface of the reservoir. Everyone, passing through it, should think about the importance of making the right decisions in life and being attentive to the smallest nuances.

You can walk around the garden in an hour, but you will have enough impressions for a long time. As for the cost of tickets, immediately after the opening, it was very high. However, after the decline in the excitement of the first months, prices went down a bit.
