Gradient manicure is considered the most popular, as it is ideal for any girl's look. The smooth transitioning color on the nails gives the handles a special chic and femininity. A design like this is easy to do both in beauty salons and at home, but for this you need to have the appropriate set of tools and good skills.

Peculiarities

Gradient is a special type of nail art that is distinguished by the brightness and saturation of the palette. Since a manicure made on nails with ordinary varnish quickly deteriorates and loses its attractiveness, most girls prefer to cover it with shellac. To create such a manicure, good preparation of the plates is required; they are usually given the shape of a beveled rectangle. The gradient can be either vertical or horizontal.

Thanks to the vertical technique of applying shellac, the marigolds are visually lengthened, while the horizontal gradient looks more impressive, since it completely repeats the shape of the plates and emphasizes their beauty.

For this design, they usually use several shades of the same color and make a smooth transition from light tones to darker ones.

At the same time, it is important to correctly combine the tones of the palette and not simultaneously apply warm colors with cold ones.

Shellac is applied to a basecoat and dried under a lamp. Despite the fact that the gradient on nails with shellac looks impressive and lasts a long time, its creation requires a certain skill. Therefore, girls who plan to do it for the first time need to acquire certain skills, otherwise the nails can be damaged.Since this manicure is durable, you should also decide in advance on your style so that the nails are in harmony with the outfit and makeup.

The advantages of a shellac gradient include:

  • long wearing effect, the coating does not lose its shine and aesthetic appearance for three weeks;
  • a huge selection of rich and bright colors, which allows you to embody any design idea into reality;
  • strengthening the plates, with proper application, the marigolds are protected from brittleness and do not exfoliate.

As for the shortcomings, there are not many of them. To design a manicure, you must know the technique of applying shellac and have a UV lamp, since the coating is dried under ultraviolet rays.

How to do it?

Recently, many girls have been doing ombre manicure using shellac. Such a design is considered complex, but if desired, you can cope with it at home. To do this, you should be patient and have a base, top, brushes, multi-colored shellac and a UV lamp available. The gradient can be styled in several ways.

  • The usual technique. First, the cuticle and the plate are prepared. The nails are trimmed and cut off, after which they are degreased and disinfected. This will ensure good adhesion of the surface of the plate to the shellac. Then the base is applied and dried in a lamp. Thanks to ultraviolet rays, it makes the base durable and strong. The next step is to apply dark shellac to half of the plate. The second part of the marigold is covered end-to-end to the first layer with a lighter shade. With the help of a wide flat brush, smooth movements begin from the cuticle area to the horny base of the nail. The result is an interesting and smooth transition from one shade to another. The coating is dried in a lamp, covered with a top and cleaned from the sticky layer.
  • With a fan brush. First of all, all the preparatory activities are performed and a classic manicure is done. Then the lightest shellac color is applied to the plate. Several shades are mixed on foil until a medium tone is formed, half of the plate is painted with it from above, the other part of the marigold is covered with a darker shade of the same color. Next, a fan brush is taken, and it is carried out in one place. You don't need to move the brush. After an interesting pattern is obtained, the plates are dried under a UV lamp and the design is fixed with a top.
  • With the help of pigment. The prepared marigolds are covered with a base, the background is made with shellac, for example, silver or golden pigment, and the decor proceeds. The liquid pigment is "stretched" with a small brush from the cuticle area to the middle of the nail. First you need to make a dense, and then a translucent layer. In addition, the pigment can be distributed not only with a brush, but also with a sponge.
  • With a sponge. Two main shellac colors are selected, they are dripped onto the foil next to each other and mixed until an intermediate shade is formed. Then a sponge is dipped into it, making sure that no air bubbles remain on its surface, and the color is applied with smooth springy movements. The procedure is repeated until a color transition is formed on the marigold. To achieve greater contrast, it is recommended to apply several coats of shellac. Then everything is dried and covered with a pinning top.
  • Coated with shellac and acrylic powder. The marigold is painted white, the top is applied and a brush dipped into the powder begins to form stains. In this case, a thicker layer of powder should be placed in the cuticle area. The second part of the plate is designed in the same way, but the brush is dipped into a dark powder. The manicure ends with fixation with a top and drying in a UV lamp.

Each of the above methods of creating a gradient with shellac has its own characteristics and advantages.

To achieve a beautiful and smooth transition of tones, masters are advised to choose a simpler technique.

Design ideas

Gradient is considered a unique type of manicure that can be easily selected for both everyday and evening looks. To do this, it is enough to correctly combine the colors into one composition. For going out and for special occasions, a gradient is suitable for the fair sex, in which red and cherry shellac is used. To enhance the bit effect, the ring finger can be highlighted with sparkles or rhinestones applied to the holes.

The evening gradient in white, pink, pale yellow and turquoise colors is considered no less interesting. The design can be not only two-tone, but also with the use of three or more shades. If desired, individual fingers are decorated with a sprinkling of sparkles.

To stand out from the crowd and emphasize your image favorably, you should design a gradient in a juicy blue color (according to the recommendations of stylists). Shellac in this case must be decorated with green sparkles. A similar design will look best on square nails and will not work for a casual look because of its catchiness.

For owners of short marigolds, multicolor nail art is most suitable.

An interesting solution would be a soft palette transition from white to dark gray. Additionally, you can experiment and supplement the design with autumn compositions. Beautiful maple leaves, twigs of trees and bunches of mountain ash will turn a manicure into a real work of art.

The ombre style looks unusual on a blue or blue background. Tone transitions, made in the form of abstraction and monograms, will be the perfect decoration for marigolds. Additionally, nail art can be decorated with shiny stones or rhinestones. They should be laid out in silver or gold patterns in the area of the moon. This performance is considered stylish and bright, so it can be safely used for an evening look.

For young fashionistas, business women and romantic personalities, it is recommended to choose a gradient in a white-pink design. It looks spectacular and emphasizes the femininity, sophistication and style of the lady. This design works well for short plates. Light, almost imperceptible color transitions look exquisite, it is recommended to decorate them with rhinestone headbands, since delicate shine is a trend this and next year.

The summer look will help to complement the universal gradient options that go well not only with a dress, but also with a swimsuit. Stylists recommend doing manicure with transitions from pink to blue.

This nail art will suit both girls and mature ladies.
