Acoustic and classic cutaway guitars are regular 6-string models at 20-22 frets. The neckline makes it possible to take more frets using a variety of techniques, including the barre.

The sound can be adjusted using a dedicated amplifier.

Such models are not suitable for teaching and amateur music making. Cut-out guitars are needed for academic performances and concert music. And the cost of such guitars is high, unlike similar models without a cutaway.
