Castropol is also known under a different name - Beregovoe. This is a small resort village located in the Yalta municipality. This is a great place for a summer vacation with its own "zest" and attractions.

Description

Beregovoe is located on the southern coast of Crimea at an altitude of 77 meters. The village is located 10.5 km west of Simeiz, to which it belongs in administrative terms. Population - more than 2 thousand people.

A small village in Crimea on the Black Sea coast is located 6 kilometers from the popular resort of Feodosia, despite its size today it is a popular resort destination.

Castropol owes its popularity among tourists to the long sandy beach, which is called Golden. To tell the truth, it really differs when compared with concrete and pebble beaches that are more common on the territory of Crimea, which are located in such popular resorts as Yalta, Alushta and other places for recreation located along the southern coast.

A strip of attractive coarse-grained sand stretches from the outskirts of Feodosia and continues continuously across the entire coast to the Primorsky village. The total length is about 10 kilometers. This is exactly the place that can be called ideal for tourists who prefer long walks along the coast after sunset, when it gets chilly.

The sand strip here is distinguished not only by its long length, but also by its impressive width, so the place is ideal for organizing beach sports. If necessary, you can easily rent an umbrella or sun lounger during the season. Small cafes are standing along the shore and waiting for visitors, there are shashlik shops.Several establishments are located close to the water, it is pleasant to sit in them and enjoy a meal with an amazing view of the sea surface.

The sand is coarse, the advantage of the local beach is that the descent to the sea is very convenient, and the sea water is warm and clean in season.

Weather

Coastal is at the same latitude as Venice, so summer temperatures are similar to those found on the French and Portuguese Mediterranean coasts. Although the settlement is located much further to the east, there is no high humidity, which is typical for Greece and Turkey. The fresh sea breeze guarantees comfort even in hot weather.

There are two seasons throughout Crimea: warm, which lasts from May to October, and cool, from November to April. Precipitation is light, on average about 38 mm in summer and 83 mm in the cool season.

In the warm season, the temperature here is higher than that found in other Mediterranean resorts, and the sea warms up to +23 C. Tourists begin to actively swim in May, and the flow does not decrease until the end of October.

If you move west along the coast to Yalta and Sevastopol, the climate remains hot, but the landscape becomes greener, with mountain forests. Protected areas are located here. The further east, towards Sudak and Feodosia, the more rugged the terrain becomes, although in some places there are vineyards that are large in length. It is from these berries that famous Crimean wines are prepared.

The eastern part is famous for the Kara-Dag nature reserve - a wild region with mountains of volcanic origin.

Here the rocks have peculiar names, for example, one of the most famous is the Devil's Finger.

The coast is well protected from the northerly winds by the mountains, as a result of which there is no harsh winter in Beregovoye. In the cool season, the temperature reaches an average of about +7 C. It is very rare that the reading on the thermometer falls below the established norm, but this does not apply to mountainous areas where snow falls. The first flowers appear in March, and in April you can enjoy the warm sun.

The average sea surface temperature in Beregovoye in recent years has been +15.5 C. The highest temperature was recorded in Kastropol - +14 C, and the lowest in the Black Sea - + 8.3 C.

Things to do

Despite the large number of advantages, not everything is as perfect as we would like. There is a trail close to the beach line, there are not many green spaces, the local landscape is not breathtaking. Village tourism cannot be called well developed, there are not many top-level hotels, although everything you need to stay is there. There is no area for walking in the evening in the village. There is a small market in the center with food and souvenirs, as well as several shops and establishments for a bite to eat. There are inexpensive restaurants around. There is a small embankment on the shore, if you can call it that.

For entertainment, there is a dolphinarium, where not only children but also adults come with joy. A must-see for your family is the Children's Amusement Park. Also during the season, water sports are offered on the beach: "banana", jet skis, parachute, etc. But for an interesting pastime and evening walks, it is better to go to the center of Feodosia, which is easy to do by local bus number 106 or taxi.

There are no attractions directly on the shore, so again you will have to go for adventures to Feodosia or buy an excursion to other parts of Crimea.

The following places are worth visiting.

  • Dolphinarium "Nemo". The Dolphinarium was built in 2012 and is one of the most popular entertainment facilities for children and adults in the vicinity of Feodosia. The program includes seals and dolphins. It is located in a coastal village on the Kerch highway, about 1 km from the center. It is easy to get to it from Feodosia by bus number 106.
  • Crazy Surf amusement park. Small amusement park for children. Includes several carousels and stalls selling sweets and souvenirs. Open season only. Located in the center of the village along the Kerch road.
  • Car camping Koronelli. For those who prefer to stay not in hotels, but right in nature, there is an opportunity to stay here. The beach is only 300 meters away, there are all conditions for living with a tent, you can even rent a house on site.

Castropol is an ideal place for a relaxing family vacation with children in silence without unnecessary parties and noise. Also, the village is perfect for a romantic getaway, because on a long stretch of the beach there is always a place where you can be alone.

Accommodation

There are not many hotels on the coast, only a few, and it is better to book a room in one of them in advance. When looking for a good option, you should understand that the closer to the beach and the center of the village, the better.

If there are no options to stay in a hotel, it is always easy to rent accommodation in the private sector from the local population. Most of them offer a room or an apartment at the bus station in Feodosia, others simply post an announcement on the availability of vacancies on the fence.

The normal price for a double room in the season starts from 800 rubles per day, a four-bed room can be found for 1400 rubles.

Most of all there are guest houses on the territory of the village. You can stop at the following places.

  • Paradise - a small guest house with cozy and comfortable rooms. Internet and parking are free, TVs and game consoles are everywhere. The facility is located at 46 A. Kurskaya Street.
  • "Bohemia" - also a small guest house on 12 Chernomorskaya street. It is good to stay here as a family, as the owners offer everything you need for a barbecue and even a playground for children. Free parking is available in the courtyard.
  • Pension "Domino" - is popular with vacationers. The rooms have internet and TVs, in the courtyard there are small gazebos for evening relaxation.

How to get there

Beregovoe is a small town and is not served by intercity buses and trains going towards Kerch. There is not even a bus station here, but only public transport that runs from Feodosia.

It is possible to take a taxi from Simferopol airport. The cost of the trip will cost 2,500 rubles for the whole car, but you can also bargain or wait until it is full in order to pay less.

Local buses No. 106 and 106A run from Feodosia to the village in the daytime from 5 to 21 hours. Travel time from 10 to 30 minutes, by car - 15–20 minutes. In Feodosia, the bus starts moving from the terminal station at the intersection of Nazukina and Oktyabrskaya streets, opposite the PUD supermarket (formerly ATB-market), then moves through the city, along the main Fedko street, and then along the coast. The coastal bus makes several stops right on the main road along the coast, but does not enter the village inland.

If a tourist arrives in Feodosia at an intercity bus station or a railway station, then you just need to go to Fedko Street and stop bus 106.

A taxi from the center of Feodosia costs 300 rubles, from the bus station you can get a little cheaper.
