Fans of a rich sightseeing pastime, and those who prefer more calm and relaxed leisure, come here with pleasure. Sandy, pebble and other beaches on the west coast attract "savages" and organized tourist groups. It is better to learn about all the features of the western coast of Crimea in advance in order to guarantee yourself a high level of comfort during your stay on the peninsula. Consider where is the best place to relax, what sights to see, which way of staying to choose.

Climate features

The western coast of Crimea is an area with a unique plain-steppe landscape, surrounded by majestic, but not too high mountain peaks. Due to the presence of the sea, the air here is saturated with useful sea salt and is considered healing. Constantly circulating air masses ensure the maintenance of an optimal humidity level. And the number of sunny days on the west coast sometimes exceeds that of the south of the peninsula.

The climate here is really favorable for all kinds of recreation. Springtime is the time of flowering and renewal, allowing you to enjoy the not too hot weather. In May, the sea is already warm enough to start the swimming season. Summer is a period of pleasant refreshing breezes from the sea, almost without rain.

In the September velvet season, vacationers continue to swim and sunbathe under the gentle rays of the sun.

But the winter months are not very relaxing.Residents of the west coast often have to suffer from strong and sharp piercing winds, and the thermometer periodically drops to negative values. However, snow falls here infrequently and for a short time.

The unique climate has allowed the western coast of Crimea to acquire the status of a health resort, where nature itself has created all the conditions for the treatment of many diseases. Back in the days of the Russian Empire, representatives of aristocratic families came here. Today, there are salt lakes, springs with mineral waters, curative mud at the disposal of tourists.

Where is the best place to rest?

Rest in the resorts of the west of the Crimean peninsula allows you to avoid excessive summer heat or heavy congestion of beaches - a length of several tens of kilometers provides sufficient freedom of choice. Here, both small villages and fairly large cities are represented in abundance. Some of them are located directly on the coast, the rest may not have direct access to the sea. Going to rest in this part of Crimea, it is worth looking at the westernmost point of the peninsula - Cape Priboyny, located in the immediate vicinity of Tarkhankut.

Even for those who arrive in Crimea for the first time, most of the place names of the western coast will surely seem familiar. There are legendary resort places - Saki and Evpatoria, Nikolaevka and Sevastopol. All of them are well known outside the peninsula. Among the favorite places for recreation for residents and guests of Crimea, one can also highlight the villages that are not so well known to the general public.

Balaclava

Located in a cozy bay, the popular Crimea resort pleases with good infrastructure. But the prices here are higher than the average along the coast. In addition, in Balaklava there are difficulties with access to the beach areas - you have to go to them by water or walk. Otherwise, the rest here leaves only a pleasant impression.

Beregovoe

The village of Beregovoe, located on the western coast of Crimea, is approximately equidistant from Sevastopol and Evpatoria. It is located at the mouth of the Bulganak River and is not very famous among tourists. But the beautiful wild beaches with sand and pebble cover look very impressive. In addition, there are full-fledged hotels where you can comfortably stay.

Evpatoria

One of the largest cities on the peninsula.

It has everything you need for a good organized holiday - beautiful embankments, hotels and boarding houses, sanatorium facilities.

You won't have to run out of stores or other familiar amenities either. Evpatoria has a well-developed resort infrastructure, there are well-maintained guarded beaches.

Zaozernoe

This village, 5 km from Evpatoria, is quite convenient for both wild and organized recreation. The infrastructure in the settlement itself is not very well developed. The proximity of Lake Moinaki, the sulfur mud of which carries a not very pleasant smell, is sometimes inconvenient. But in general, this place is popular both among visiting tourists and among the local population.

Lyubimovka

The village is located in the suburbs of Sevastopol, but has its own comfortable beach with clean sand. The residential infrastructure is well developed in Lyubimovka - there are private houses, boarding houses, hostels. Nearby is a large city with a wide range of entertainment and everything you need for sightseeing excursions.

    Peaceful

Unlike its northern namesake city, this village is quite capable of creating a comfortable atmosphere for recreation. Mirny is famous for its wide beaches with clean sand. Due to the close location of the balneological resort and Lake Donuzlav, there is the necessary residential infrastructure here - you won't have to look for a boarding house for a long time.

    Mezhvodnoe

The village is located on the coast, where there are parking places for "savages" and civilized housing available for rent. The sandy beaches of Mezhvodnoye are well suited for families with little ones - they are quite clean and safe.Divers will appreciate the local cliffs from which you can dive right into the sea.

To a large settlement with all the infrastructure - 20 km.

    Nikolaevka

A favorite vacation spot for the Crimeans themselves. The village of Nikolaevka is located not far from Simferopol. On weekends, the largest influx of tourists is observed here. The beaches are filled with people who come to rest from the mainland of the peninsula.

    Olenevka

A place where the diving community is quite active. There is a salt lake on its territory, where you can open the swimming season quite early.

In addition, Olenevka is located as close as possible to Tarkhankut, which allows you to go on a dive or excursion at almost any convenient time.

    Sandy

One of the small but very popular villages in western Crimea. It is located not far from Bakhchisarai, Sevastopol, allows you to spend time on the beach, as well as enjoy active excursion programs. In Peschaniy, tourist infrastructure and youth recreation are quite well developed. The beaches are sandy with a gentle slope, suitable for families with children.

    Coastal

The village is divided into old and new areas by a grandiose water park. It is worth relaxing here with children, alternating active pastime with lazy days on the beach. The new districts do not have a well-developed infrastructure. Experienced tourists are advised to choose the old part of the village for living.

    Saki

Balneological resort and very popular holiday destination. Saki has long specialized in the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system. In addition, a full-fledged barrier-free environment for people with disabilities has been created here. The resort and residential infrastructure is well developed, there are hotels for every taste.

    Sevastopol

The Sea City is one of the largest ports on the Black Sea coast. Picturesque landscapes, lots of entertainment for every taste, well-developed transport infrastructure. All this is combined here with a poor selection of good beaches and prices above average.

    Black Sea

One of the largest urban-type settlements on the western coast of Crimea. The Chernomorskoye has a well-developed tourist infrastructure, there is everything you need for recreation. Prices in the village are average for the region. Here you can find comfortable hotels, guest houses, private accommodation for every taste and budget.

The beaches are quite comfortable, with sand and shell cover, developed trade.

    Lodging

It is not difficult to find comfortable housing on the western coast of Crimea. There is:

    • hotels by the sea - "Oasis" in Nikolaevka, "Summer" in Zaozernoye, "Golden" in Saki;

    • guest houses - Villa Kristina in Evpatoria, Lastochka in Nikolaevka, Akvilon in Olenevka.

For those who want privacy, private housing is suitable, where you can significantly save on food and get complete freedom of action. The quality of service here is not inferior to that of a hotel. In addition, you can find options with a pool, solve the problem of parking or living with pets. But the difference in the level of housing, especially in small villages, is significant.

With children, it is better to relax in hotels with their own beaches, swimming pools, animators or a water park nearby. If the goal is an excursion vacation, it is better to choose large cities with a developed network of interesting routes or historically significant objects - Sevastopol, Bakhchisarai.
