All about the Tsarskoe beach in Crimea
In recent years, it has become popular to relax on the picturesque Crimean peninsula. Someone wants to get acquainted with local sights, someone needs a comfortable rest, and someone is attracted by pristine nature. For those who are interested in mountain roads, we offer to relax in a fantastically beautiful place - Tsarskoe beach.
Blue Bay
The Tsar's Beach, which has retained its pristine charm, occupies a special place among the natural beauties of the peninsula, as it is remote from traditional tourist routes and difficult to access.
It is located in the Golubaya Bay, formerly called "Robber". Since ancient times, for pirates and robbers, it has been an excellent place for unloading and storing contraband goods. The tunnels and grottoes created by nature served as warehouses for them. The pirate ships standing off the coast were visible only from the sea, it was very difficult to get by land, so the sea robbers were calm about storing their illegal goods, and, if necessary, reliably took refuge in the bay from dangers.
New World
At the end of the 19th century, Prince Lev Sergeevich Golitsyn, having visited the Crimean peninsula, was fascinated by the beauty of the region. Having appreciated the local nature, he decided to found the village of Paradise. On his estate, he took up the production of champagne. Winemaking was set on a grand scale, the wines produced were of high quality. The village flourished.
In 1912, Prince Golitsyn was visited by Nicholas II, who was vacationing in the Crimea. He appreciated not only the success in the production of the prince's quality wines, but also the delightful views of the surrounding nature. At the suggestion of the emperor, Paradise was renamed the New World.
Golitsyn trail
Lev Sergeevich Golitsyn, having learned about the upcoming visit of the emperor, decided to arrange a grandiose meeting. Among the colorful mountain peaks, the winemaker decided to treat the autocrat with a gorgeous drink. To strike the imagination of the king Golitsyn improved the ancient path, which the locals called the Road of the Infidels... The prince equipped it with stone steps, arranged observation platforms, and made a depository for his wines in the mountain rocks.
Description of Tsarskoe beach
The Golitsyn trail connected the village of Novy Svet with the picturesque Golubaya Bay, located between Cape Kapchik and Mount Karaul-Oba, which means "Watchman" in translation. Nicholas II decided to go to Golubaya Bay on his yacht "Standart". Since then, the small beach on the shores of the Golubaya Bay, in which Nicholas II bathed, is called Tsarskoe beach. In his diary, the monarch spoke enthusiastically about this secluded extraordinary place.
Tsarskoe beach is attractive at any time of the year, whatever the weather. The color of the water attracts attention - bright blue, saturated. The shade is due to the shale at the bottom of the sea, which creates an optical effect. The beach in Blue Bay is covered with dark pebbles. It is also noteworthy that small pebbles are almost erased into sand - a pleasant procedure for a light foot massage. The isolation of the bay, surrounded by mountains, does not allow strong waves to play out.
The scenic beauty of the described place is emphasized by large stones and boulders scattered all over the beach. The grottoes and tunnels located in the rocks are filled with water. Blue Bay is a protected area.
And, as a result, modern infrastructure has not been built on the reserved land, everything has been created by the forces of nature, there are no super-fashionable hotels, retail outlets.
Huge rocky boulders are ubiquitous on the coast, mountain falls often occur. Large boulders, fragments of rocks are used by tourists for sunbathing and jumping into the sea. The transparency of the water allows you to see beautiful fish and small crabs between the stones.
