Among the echoes of the history of this area, it will not be superfluous to note the presence of the ruins of a nuclear power plant, the construction of which was suspended back in the Soviet Union.

The reserve was created with the aim of preserving rare bird species, most of which are listed in the Red Book. The territory, which today is called General's beaches, was formed in a natural way, without human intervention, which further increases its value for true nature lovers. The place received a second name - "Coast of a Thousand Bays".

The coastline, on which the General's beaches are located, has preserved samples of fescue-feather grass steppes. Therefore, such places are considered unique, unparalleled throughout Europe. These areas are recommended for recreation by savages, this is their main feature. The sea air is additionally saturated with the alluring aroma of steppe herbs.

Since the beaches are far from civilization, small sources of clean drinking water can be found in the bays. The General's beaches are also famous for their sandy coast and flat seabed. In some bays, the coast is completely sandy, there are places with sandy shell beaches.

Another option for vacationers who prefer to travel by their own vehicle. In addition to the convenient access to the recreation park, the main advantage of this place on the General's beaches is the presence of a spring with clean drinking water.

Bays for tourist recreation are located twenty kilometers from Kerch, the length of the beaches is within 30 kilometers. The peculiarities of their location along the coastline led to the fact that many bays were included in the composition of rural settlements, spread out in the area. So, a number of them are located in the settlements of Chistopolye, Belinskoye and Bagerovo.

The journey to the resting places takes place along a dirt road, some sections have rather steep descents. Although the coast is famous for its holiday destinations, it will not be possible to reach your destination by public transport.

An alternative to driving is walking to your destination. With the help of a navigator, tourists can get to the coast from three sides. There is an approach to General's beaches from the Kurortny settlement or through Beregovoe and Golden settlement. Kurortny has long been a place of recreation for tourists, therefore, if necessary, you can find accommodation in it, and the way to the coast will take about two hours from there. A regular bus route has been laid to the village from Kerch.

Laying the route to General's beaches, tourists are advised to move from Kerch to the selected village. Typically, the journey will take about 60 minutes.
