Oreanda in Crimea: choice of housing, attractions and beaches

Crimea, namely its southern coast in the literal sense of the word, is "dotted" with villages and small towns, which eventually became resort places. And the village of Oreanda is no exception. Its name translates as "rocky", as there are many sheer cliffs.

Oreanda is an urban-type settlement located on the southern coast of Crimea. The village is located on the Black Sea coast, 5 km from Yalta. It rises 197 meters above the sea. The Yalta-Alupka highway is laid through it. This village is located between Gaspra and Livadia as part of the big Yalta and is a typical resort for the southern coast of Crimea. There are very comfortable and large beaches, the pebbles are small and pleasant.

Oreanda has 2 parts - Upper and Lower. Everything you need for tourists is located in Nizhnyaya (restaurants, supermarkets, pier). Upper Oreanda is located behind the Simferopol highway. The main beach of the village is called Golden. And this name was given not because there is such a shade of sand, but because the beach is covered with pebbles, the suppliers of which have become rich. Some people claim that it was used in construction and was very expensive. But there are those who adhere to such a story: shortly before Crimea joined Russia, a ship crashed near the village, on which a certain leader with a large amount of gold fled to Turkey. And after the ship collapsed, the inhabitants saw that the coast was covered with gold coins.

Natural golden beach... Crushed stone is not specially added there to strengthen the coast. You can safely walk on pebbles without shoes. The beach is approximately 400 meters long and is also quite wide. But it can get a little crowded during the peak season. The infrastructure is well developed and the entrance is very convenient. There are also awnings, sun loungers, umbrellas, changing rooms and fresh water.

There are small cafes and a grocery stall on the beach where you can buy various little things. There are also various attractions here. Not far from Oreanda there are wild beaches, there is nothing there, and there are large stones on the coast. If you like silence, then this option will suit you.

The village of Oreanda has been the property of the royal family since 1825. To be more precise, the settlement belonged to the Empress Alexandra Feodorovna. Such a present was made by Nicholas II to his wife. The first building was a cylindrical rotunda, which still exists today. And the Tsar's path was laid past it.

The palace itself burned down. And then a sanatorium Nizhniy Oreand was built in its place. Although you will not see the palace, you can take a walk in the palace park. The park is a landmark of the village. You will not get tired of walking on it. Walking along it, you can see all its beauties, the palace itself, and not far from Livadia.

Not far from the admiral's house, located the current Church of the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God. The instructions for the construction were given by the Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolaevich. One of the attractions is the Mast Rock. It is divided into halves, and at the base there is a cave, in which the presence of ancient people was discovered. And on the Cross Rock, which is located not far from the Rotunda, you can see the ruins of an ancient fortress and monastery.

To get to the village, you can use public transport. He only runs from Yalta. If you come to Simferopol, then you cannot immediately go to Oreanda, first you will need to get to Yalta.And from there already by bus, he does not go along the best route, because of this, the whole journey will take more than half an hour. And if you choose a taxi, you will be in the village in 15 minutes.
