Resort village in Crimea: climate, attractions and location
In the east of the Crimea peninsula, 18 kilometers from the city of Kerch, on the coast of the Azov Sea near Cape Zyuk, there is the village of Kurortnoye. It appeared in the 18th century from the settlement of Old Believers and until 1948 bore an intriguing name - Mama Russian. It was given to him by the similar name of the neighboring village - Mama Tatarskaya, where the Crimean Tatars lived. After the Great Patriotic War, the village of Mama Tatarskaya disappeared, and Mama Russian was renamed Mysovoye by the authorities. In the early 70s of the last century, the village was named Kurortnoye, which speaks for itself. This is the best place to relax from the bustle of the city and improve your health.
Description
The village is small there are only 17 streets and 2 lanes in it, but at the same time all conditions have been created for a full-fledged tourist rest... There are beautiful sandy beaches with a length of almost 4 kilometers, where you can find amazingly beautiful shells. The gently sloping shores and shallow waters provide a convenient and safe entrance for swimming with young children.

The entrance to the village itself is not particularly remarkable, its disadvantage is the lack of a good road surface. But the territory of guest houses and beaches is very cozy and beautiful.
How to get there?
If you look at a detailed map of Crimea, you can see that the village of Kurortnoye is the northernmost point of the Kerch Peninsula. Arrival of tourists to rest in this place runs through the city of Kerch. For those who use air transport, it should be noted that the nearest airports to the city are in Simferopol, Anapa and Krasnodar.
It is very convenient if the plane arrives in Simferopol in the morning or in the evening. At this time, a bus runs directly from the airport to Kerch. Unfortunately, there are no such flights during the daytime, so you need to get to the city bus station. If you arrive at the airport of Anapa or Krasnodar, then you need to get to the bus stations of these cities and buy tickets there to Kerch.
To save time, you can use the services of a taxi, which is better to order in advance for the arrival of the flight or call upon the plane landing through the official service, fortunately, at the time of the Internet it is quite easy to do this. But if you count on the services of the so-called "bomb", then their prices can be overstated several times.
It is very popular to travel by train on a single ticket to Anapa or Krasnodar, and then on an organized transfer to Kerch. Getting from the bus station to the desired destination is not difficult. Route taxi №69 goes to Kurortnoye every 30 minutes. In summer, when there is a large influx of tourists, flights are more frequent. The duration of the trip is 20-30 minutes.
For those who prefer to come to rest in their car, the opening of the Crimean bridge greatly facilitated the journey. There is no longer the need to wait in a long queue for the ferry and spend money on the ferry. The capacity of the bridge is 40 thousand cars per day.
An excellent route from Moscow to the south is the M4 highway (Don-4). In most of its areas, the coating meets European standards. The path through the Crimean bridge to Kerch from the capital is about 1,500 km.
Having entered Kerch, you need to follow Karl Marx Street to Vokzalny Highway, and then turn right and move along Kokorina Street until its end, then go to Shosseinaya Street. Further road signs will show the way to Kurortnoye.

sights
Rest in Kurortnoye is complemented by historical and natural attractions.
Church in the name of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary built in 1913 by the Old Believer community. In his lifetime, he has seen a lot. There were times when he stopped acting. But in recent years, the church inside has been completely reconstructed with funds from charity. Only a stone frame remained from the old building. This is the only functioning Old Believer church in Crimea is the center of the spiritual life of the Old Believers of the Kerch Peninsula.
Near the village on Cape Zyuk there is an interesting archaeological site - excavations of an ancient settlement. During the domination of the Greeks, in its northern part there was a town, the inhabitants of which were engaged in winemaking. The occupied area was only 1 hectare, but judging by the discovered parts of the fortification, it was a city. The exact data on its name have not been preserved, but the researchers believe that it is Zenonov Chersonese. Until now, only half of the fortress wall has remained. Fragments of a winery from the 3rd – 4th century AD have been found. NS. and many fragments of earthen jars and amphorae.
Cape Zyuk is one of the most mysterious places. It still remains a mystery why no human remains were found in this area, although the remains of domestic animals were found. According to indigenous people, in the early 2000s, as a result of an earthquake, part of the excavation site slipped into the sea. According to one of the versions, it is possible that Zenonov Chersonesos disappeared for the same reason.
Immediately behind the village, opposite the coast of the Azov Sea, there is a local nature reserve - mud lake Chokrak. The name is of Crimean Tatar origin and means "spring" in translation. Its area is approximately 8 sq. km, and the depth does not exceed 1.5 meters. The salinity of the lake is very high - from 80 to 180 ppm. The only inhabitant of the reservoir is a small red crayfish brine shrimp.
The first mentions of a miraculous lake near the city of Panticapaeum (previously called Kerch) appeared in ancient times. It is known that the Crimean khans were treated with his healing gifts, the mud was exported to other countries and they were charged in gold. In the 19th century, a mud baths operated here, but during the Civil War it was destroyed.
The main advantages of mud are a high level of mineralization, a large amount of useful trace elements, salts and biologically active organic substances in the composition. Thanks to them on the lake you can:
- improve the condition in diseases of the musculoskeletal system, which include rheumatic arthritis, arthrosis of various etiologies, ankylosing spondylitis, spondylitis;
- treat gynecological diseases - inflammatory processes in the pelvic organs, functional ovarian failure, infertility;
- relieve painful conditions of the peripheral nervous system - radiculitis, polyneuritis;
- improve the condition of the skin - with dermatitis, psoriasis, acne;
- remove swelling and inflammation of the ENT organs - chronic rhinitis, tonsillitis.
Healing mud has a specific smell of hydrogen sulfide, but despite this, it is very popular with tourists.
Leisure for tourists
There is little entertainment in Kurortnoye compared to the busy cities. During the high season, water attractions (slides, "bananas", jet skis) are organized on the beaches. In the evening, discos are held in the cafe.
While here a must visit General's beaches. They are located a little further than the village, in the northwestern part, and are well protected from the wind.Until 1998, there was a military training ground here, and the highest military ranks loved to spend their leisure time on the coast, hence the name.
This place is of interest to fishermen. Anchovy, flounder and gobies are often caught in small bays. The sandy seashell beaches and the warm sea create the best conditions for swimming. In the evening, there are very beautiful sunsets.
You can diversify your leisure time with an excursion along the ecological trail, which involves a visit to a natural park.
There is a unique protected area behind the lake -landscape park Karalak, the area of which is almost 7 hectares. It represents the natural ecological system of the steppe with flora and fauna; also grottoes and bays of the rocky coast of the Sea of Azov adjoin it.
There are 261 plant species in the park, 29 of which are listed in the Red Book. Found 197 species of vertebrates and 26 species of invertebrates. Such rare birds as bustard, little bustard, pink starling, demoiselle crane, peregrine falcon nest here.
The most vivid impressions of visiting the park are in spring, when vast fields of tulips bloom. Rare birds can be found here at this time of the year. In summer, the steppe burns out and tourists are more interested in the beauty of the rocky shores. In the velvet season, the grass rises again, bright red inflorescences of the annual salicornia appear, which attract the eyes.
The entrance to the park is free. For the orientation of visitors there are signs along the route, names of places, information on objects. Be sure to wear comfortable, closed shoes when visiting the park, as there are many spiders and snakes in the steppe grasses.
Representatives of travel agencies work in Kurortny, which offer a variety of tourist excursions around the Crimea. With children, you can go to Kerch and visit the amusement park on the embankment or other entertainment centers.
