Rybachye village in Crimea: features, weather and rest
The southern coast of Crimea is notable for the fact that here the zone, suitable for a wonderful summer vacation, stretches for tens of kilometers almost continuously. Over the decades of development of the resort area, a minimal infrastructure has been created that allows you to spend your holidays not only in rather noisy cities with a lively nightlife, but also in small quiet villages. The village of Rybachye, located near Alushta, is no exception.
Description and history
Modern Rybachye is not so easy to find on the map - the population of the village is less than one and a half thousand people, therefore, a fairly detailed plan of Crimea is needed to be depicted there. If the map comes across really detailed, then another problem may arise - the desired object is simply lost among dozens of others of the same kind. To find Rybachye, find on the southern coast of the Crimean Peninsula Alushta - she, as a fairly large tourist center, is indicated on any maps of the Crimea.
To the northeast of it along the coast there should be Zander - another center of tourism, but a little shallower, there is a direct road between them. It is on this road that our final destination is located.
If your map does not show settlements smaller than those of Alushta and Sudak, you should know that the distance to the first along the mentioned route is about 30 km, and to Sudak it is almost twice as far.
Curious that even such a small village has a rather ancient history. Some scientists believe that Tuak (as Rybachye was called until 1945) arose a good two thousand years ago, and in the VIII century Greeks from Byzantium began to arrive here en masse. However, no one will tell in detail about those times, and scant information is taken from sources that do not cause much confidence. In 1365 this coast came under the control of the Genoese.
Although there is no list of settlements in the document signed at that time, further, starting in 1385, a village called de Buzult by the Genoese is mentioned at the same place. In 1475, the rule of the Genoese was ended as the territory came under the control of the Ottomans, but for about two hundred years after that, Tuak was still a predominantly Christian village. After that, the structure of the population began to change rapidly, in 1805 (after the annexation to Russia) 203 residents lived in the village, among whom there were no representatives of any other nationality, except for the Crimean Tatars.
In the next century and a half, nothing particularly interesting happened here - the village grew 6-7 times, periodically passed into subordination from Yalta to Alushta and back, but still remained predominantly Muslim.
After the deportation of the Crimean Tatars in 1944, the village became depopulated for some time, but in the following decades its current ethnic composition was formed, consisting mainly of Slavs. Today it is an ordinary one and a half thousand village with two dozen streets and alleys. Apart from the sea and some tourist infrastructure, the same village can be found in any region of the country.
Weather
The weather in Rybachye almost exactly matches the weather conditions in Yalta and any other point on the southern coast of Crimea, with the only difference that winters are a little colder here - literally by 1 degree. The territory of Big Alushta, which includes this village, is protected from the north by the Crimean mountains, which makes this territory subtropical climate... However, there are two passes nearby, through which there is still an intensive exchange of air masses with the steppe zone of Crimea, where a temperate climate already reigns.
The air humidity is consistently high here, it usually exceeds 70%, At the same time, precipitation falls mainly in winter - out of the average annual 427 mm, only 80 in total fall on three summer months. Summer is traditionally hot.
Rybachye boasts a huge number of sunny days. For him, even 2300 hours a year is by no means the limit. "Walruses" can be interested in this resort at any time of the year, because the water here rarely cools down to temperatures below +8 degrees even in winter, but the main swimming season falls on the time when the water temperature reaches at least +17 degrees - such indicators are real from May to October.
If we talk about the peak of the tourist season, then it falls on the period from July to Septemberwhen the water even at night does not have time to cool down to values below +22 degrees... Due to the presence of the aforementioned passes in Rybachye, it is relatively windy - in the summer heat this is unlikely to be a disadvantage, but due to the harsher winter, the species diversity of the same palm trees is slightly less here than in neighboring Yalta.
However, such winds are not only not harmful, but also beneficial to health, even Botkin wrote that the climate in Big Alushta is healthier precisely due to regular air exchange.
How to get to the village?
Today, most tourists who come to Crimea end up on the peninsula either through the Crimean bridge, or through the airport of Simferopol... Consider these options independently.
The Crimean Bridge, opened not so long ago, made it possible to simplify road communication with the Krasnodar Territory, so Kuban residents can come to Rybachye in their own cars. Once in Kerch, you need to choose direction to Feodosia, and then move along the highway along the Black Sea through Koktebel and Sudak towards Alushta and Yalta. The length of the route on the territory of the Crimean peninsula will be a little over 200 kilometers, but due to the winding mountain sections of the road, one should not count on too high a driving speed - overcoming the section can take four hours.
Crimea also has a bus service with various European regions of Russia, organized across the bridge, but it will be quite difficult to find a bus that would go through Rybachye. You can try to get there with transfers, but if you did not get off in Simferopol, the traffic may not be so busy.
Simferopol is the final destination for many buses from the "mainland", as well as the main (in fact, the only) air gates of Crimea, therefore, a huge part of tourists first inevitably ends up here. Despite the good bus connection between the airport and various regions of the peninsula, it is difficult to get directly to Rybachye from it - transport goes either to Alushta or to Sudak, without passing along the highway between them.
The most convenient way to get there is from the Simferopol airport with a transfer in Alushta - there are direct flights from the airport. Alternatively, you can first get from the airport to the Simferopol bus station-2 "Kurortnaya" - from here several times a day direct buses leave for Rybachye, which in 2 hours and 283 rubles will take you directly to the place.
As an additional tourist attraction, you can come to Alushta and trolley - not every person can boast that at least once in his life he rode a "horned" car through a mountain forest.
If you do decide to change trains in Alushta, you can get to Rybachye, for example, by the same buses from Simferopol, which have an intermediate station here.
On this section, the traffic is a little more lively, but due to the fact that it is here that the most difficult section of the road lies, the last 30 kilometers of the journey will stretch for a good hour.
Lodging
Given the tourist orientation of the local economy, you can live in Rybachye in completely different rooms, representing fundamentally different conditions. Due to the modest size of the village itself and fierce competition from the same Alushta and Sudak, Rybachye cannot boast of having first-class hotels. If you want to relax in a big way and with a certain taste (by local standards), you will most likely be advised hotel "Frigate Santa Maria".
It has only 2 stars, there is no pool here, but the concept itself is interesting, according to which the hotel is this is a ship, cabins are rented in it. Of the amenities, one can only highlight the location on the first line, right on the seashore, as well as the organization of transfers from Simferopol, excursions to neighboring cities and boat trips.
Unusual services provided boarding house "Favor" Is a good destination for Orthodox believers. In addition to the typical services provided by most of the similar boarding houses of the Crimean peninsula, there are such advantages as meals organized with an eye on the fast, watching Orthodox films and organizing all religious rituals by the staff, which is highly valued by a certain category of vacationers.
In general, Rybachye does not have a wide variety of real hotels: in fact, most of the housing here is represented in the private sector, where local residents have done everything to get the most out of their land. Full-fledged cottage settlements, united into a single hotel, are not observed here, but individual owners rent out their cottages, while they themselves live in a different place.
If the constant presence of the owners in the yard does not bother you, you can also rent a guest house. Comparison of prices shows that, all other conditions being equal in terms of comfort, the private sector can offer prices almost twice lower than those exhibited in local hotels.
Another thing is that you need to choose carefully - some "business initiatives" of local people raise concerns about compliance with safety regulations.
A very special type of accommodation for tourists in Rybachye, as in some other villages on the southern coast of Crimea, is boathouses... In fact, this is a former boat garage, converted into a living room. The great advantage of such a residence is the extreme proximity of the sea and relatively low prices, but the big question is how much the owners managed to provide comfort in such a place.
Lovers of wild and semi-wild rest may be interested in camping - there is also a similar infrastructure in the vicinity of the village... There is even a camping site, where you can come by your own car and live on the basis of your car and tent, relying on the staff for security.
sights
A relatively small village, which is the former Tuak, predictably cannot boast of an abundance of its own attractions. Most of the people vacationing here who want to diversify their vacation with a minimum excursion program, go on trips to Yalta, Alushta and Sudak. Fortunately, you can get there both by public transport and with an excursion organized by local businessmen.
However, if you are in Crimea, even the picturesque surroundings may turn out to be curious.
Locals and avid visitors to the village would most likely advise taking a walk to the side Bay of Love. It is very close to the village, and the path to the destination leads along the edge of a steep cliff, from where a beautiful view of the sea opens. The harbor is very quiet and is not a port, and the water here is surprisingly clean - in calm weather, the bottom is clearly visible to a depth of more than human growth. Not only hikes are organized here, but also romantic boat trips.
Of the architectural delights located in the immediate vicinity, it is worth paying special attention to Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, located near the village of Malorechenskoye. Fans of ancient architecture will be disappointed, because the temple was erected only in 2007, but it is extremely unusual in appearance, since at the same time it is also a lighthouse.
Unlike the absolute majority of other Orthodox churches, this one is completely devoid of a traditional dome - it is crowned only by a cross raised high above the roof. Under it, which is interesting, there is an illuminated ball, symbolizing our planet, and at the same time signaling the sailors about the proximity of land.
The creators conceived this temple as a monument to everyone who did not survive the shipwreck.
Jur-Jur waterfall located as much as 15 kilometers from Rybachye, but those who are not afraid of hiking and just long walks are simply obliged to go to it. This is the most impressive waterfall in Crimea - the height of the fall is 15 meters, and although there are waterfalls even higher on the peninsula, they are scarce, while this one is powerful.
A nature reserve is organized around the waterfall - you will have to pay a symbolic amount for a visit, but in return you will get access to equipped paths and breathtaking observation platforms. You can drive closer to the waterfall from Rybachy by car, if you agree with someone from the local, but in general, even walking will be a real pleasure for all mountain lovers.
Recreation and entertainment
Even if you are quite positive about Rybachy, it is difficult not to admit that this village does not pull the title of a full-fledged beach resort. It is just a seaside village where the locals do their best to attract visitors. For this reason, the main local object around which all life revolves is the local beach. There is entertainment here, but they are quite traditional - you can ride the same child on a banana or catamaran, but nothing more.
The local embankment can disappoint an unprepared vacationer - in many ways it is just a section of the highway connecting Alushta with Feodosia.
If you expect that it offers a beautiful view of the sea, then you should not rely too much on it - it is decently built up on both sides, and there is no outstanding architecture along it either.
If you need to entertain children with something unusual, you should look into Museum of Marine Disasters, located in the neighboring Malorechenskoye - a visit to it can be combined with a walk to the above-mentioned temple.
The building itself looks very picturesque, since it is decorated in the form of a wrecked ship, and inside you can see a rich collection of things washed ashore by the sea. Here you can also watch films about shipwrecks, which tell the story of famous maritime accidents. Rybachy does not have any more serious infrastructure that allows children to relax in accordance with their best ideas. As a bonus for toddlers, you can arrange a day trip to a water park in Alushta or even a dolphinarium located in Sudak.
By the same logic, there are no outstanding restaurants in small Rybachye - food for most tourists is organized either by the bases where they stayed, or on their own, if the private sector is chosen, or with the help of numerous outlets, among which it is difficult to choose one as the best. ... In fact, all such establishments resemble ordinary fast food, but if you still want something more, you should visit one of the following establishments.
- Cafe "Aladdin"... Despite the eastern name, the cuisine here is predominantly European, although the shish kebab, beloved by all beachgoers, of course, is also on the menu. Visitors praise this place for its warm welcome and fast service.
- Cafe "Grow Puzo"... As the name implies, the creators of this establishment consider their main goal to feed visitors to the bone. There may not be any fine dining here, but it does offer a good selection of meat and fish dishes. Prices are unexpectedly democratic, so this place is in demand.
- Provence restaurant. For such a small resort village, this institution can be considered elite. The founders decided to develop a French theme, so southern France is present not only in the name, but also in the interior, and even in the music playing in the hall. The menu is not exactly French, but certain positions are reminiscent of this amazing country. This is, so to speak, a cultural institution, so if you are categorically against fast food, you should contact this place.
Reviews
On the Internet, you can find vacationers' comments about Rybachy in completely opposite colors. We would venture to suggest that it all depends on how demanding you are on the conditions and how much you have with what to compare this small Crimean resort.
Positive statements about Rybachy are usually based on the opinion that this resort is quite calm, there is no hectic nightlife. This is true, because there really is no clubs and discos, but loud music can be heard from any fast food establishment and any car. Since there is really no other entertainment here, such a development of the situation is very likely.
If you are ready to easily give up water parks, dolphinariums, clubs and attractions for the sea itself, you might like it here.
Indiscriminate criticism of this village is based on the fact that there is absolutely nothing to do here, and even the infrastructure that is present is not maintained in a decent condition or was built in violation of all architectural norms.... You can also find complaints about the contingent - those who, first of all, seek to save money, often have a rest here, but have fun with booze. At the same time, prices for accommodation here are comparable to Egyptian prices in the best hotels.
See below about the peculiarities of recreation in the village.
