  • The size of the massif is 1200 hectares. This place is mesmerizing with the beauty of nature.

Locals and holidaymakers who have visited the local lands claim that this place has a peaceful and mysterious atmosphere.

History

Experts, studying the geographical location of the mountain, noted the following. The entire massif is characterized by rare and steep slopes, only its central part is distinguished by a flat surface, which is covered with tall trees and various plants.

It is believed that this area was previously used for walking livestock. This is indicated by the old name of the mountain formation - the Venerable Poyka. The word "poyka", translated from the ancient Iranian language, means a pasture. And also the massif was called Biyuk-Kaya.

The archaeologist OI Dombrovsky found that in the period from the 9th to the 15th century, there were about 6 settlements on the territory of the rocky plateau. Evidence for this claim came from a careful survey of the area. Due to the unique structure, created by nature itself, and the special geographical location, the lot is reliably protected from enemy attacks.

Some historians believe that the locals began to build strong defensive walls after the peoples of the Khazar Kaganate attacked the land. And also the Crimeans tried to protect themselves from nomads and Tatars. Despite all efforts, the ancient settlements were destroyed by the Turks about 2.5 centuries ago.

The mysticism of these places

Despite the fact that the guests of the resort island were interested in Mount Boyka, no one has seriously studied this natural monument since the 60s of the last century. Locals say that many amazing and mysterious events take place in these places. However, everything that happened on the slopes of the magic mountain remains unrecorded and is transmitted only by word of mouth.

Residents of the nearby settlements know many legends and interesting stories related to the miraculous phenomena of the mountain. Some attribute the unusual strength of this place to the location and structure of the plateau. Power is concentrated between five towering peaks.

Tourists who have personally visited Mount Boyka tell about the trees of irregular shape. Their trunks and branches are strongly curved. Plants of unusual shape create an expressive natural ensemble that can be enjoyed for hours.

It is worth noting that many legends tell about aliens visiting this place.

What are the locals talking about?

Crimeans who have lived in these places for a long time claim that Boyka Mountain attracts newcomers. Some claim that UFOs have been seen frequently in this region. There is a legend that there is an alien base under the rock formation. And you can also hear the story of the ancient portal to the otherworldly dimension, which is hidden under rocks.

Tourists who prefer an unusual holiday format come to the mountain range in search of treasures. Despite many attempts, it has not yet been possible to find jewelry or valuable things.

Thanks to the mystical forces of this area, the rock mass was named "Crimean Shambala".

Visions

Old residents of the settlements located near the mountain claim that they saw the ghosts of the former servants of the temple over the rock (while studying the mountain, historians discovered the remains of an old church). Locals describe the ghosts as elders in long robes.

The representatives of the authorities do not hide the fact that representatives of special secret organizations studied these places. The reasons for their interest have not been made public to this day.

Ruins of an ancient temple

The most popular place on the stone plateau is the ancient Cathedral of Christ the Savior. Unfortunately, only the ruins of this structure have survived to this day. You can get to the place along the path laid by local residents and visiting vacationers. Now only the foundation of stones remains from the building. Residents of nearby settlements erected a large cross on the site.People often come here to pray and ask for help from higher powers.

Examining the location, experts found that the area of the building was 486 m². It was also found that a red stone, which is called the Boykin conglomerate, was used to lay the structure. The old building of the basal type contains many burials. According to historians, these are the tombs of clergymen.

On the territory of the building there were also workshops for the work of casters and blacksmiths.
