In the hairdressing industry, white henna has become very popular in recent years. The tool is effective, but when used at home, such coloring can threaten hair health. Therefore, before buying white henna for lightening strands, study all the pros and cons of the product, read the rules for use.

Description

Speaking of a product such as white henna, you should not confuse it with natural henna. Colorless henna is a substance that is prepared from the stalk of Lawsonia and is used as a healing and restorative agent. Henna coloring is made from the leaves of the same plant and chemical elements. If “white henna” is written on the packaging, then the product is intended to lighten curls. According to the instructions, white henna is able to lighten strands by 4-5 tones after the first procedure, while not only changing the color of the hair, but also improving their appearance.

But you should not use this product for medicinal purposes, since it contains quite a lot of chemicals, such as magnesium carbonate, ammonium persulfate, citric acid, magnesium oxide, hydrogen peroxide, carboxylated methylcellulose. And also white henna consists of natural ingredients that protect the hair structure from aggressive chemicals. The lightening dye is absorbed deep into the hair and washes away all the previous coloring pigment from there. As a rule, the same happens with nutrients.

In order to preserve the health of your hair as much as possible when using synthetic white henna, it is important to follow the rules of application.

Advantages and disadvantages

The main advantages of white henna include efficiency in coloring. It lightens the strands really quickly and well. It is often used for highlighting curls. This method is preferred for girls with black hair. Often, to obtain light strands, burning brunettes have to wait until the natural color grows, and only then proceed to lightening. However, in a few procedures, white henna can turn a girl with dark hair into a blonde lady, although sometimes an unsatisfactory result in the form of an unnatural shade is still possible.

In addition, this product evenly stains the strands, since the dyes easily adhere to the hair. Among the advantages, the content of natural components in the composition should be noted, there are not as many of them as is needed for hair restoration, but at least they will reduce the negative effect of chemical exposure. Another plus in favor of white henna is its price and availability. Another advantage of the product is the ability to use it at home without assistance and dyeing experience.

Before buying a product, you need to study the disadvantages. These include the content in the composition of a high concentration of hydrogen peroxide, due to which, with frequent and improper use, the hair turns into brittle, dry, lifeless, falling out sticks. The disadvantages include the inability to predict the result in advance. Sometimes the declared white color in practice can turn out, for example, red. White henna is not suitable for women with a perm, as well as for women who want to get rid of gray hair. In addition, the clarifier is quickly washed out, the hair becomes discolored after a few months.

And it is also worth remembering that after staining with henna, ordinary paint is rather weak, so it will not be possible to quickly repaint in the old color with unsuccessful lightening.

Application nuances

To keep your hair as healthy as possible, use basic rules for the use of white henna.

  • Perform an allergy test before dyeing. To do this, apply the product to the skin and check for redness or irritation in the area after a few minutes.
  • Henna is applied to dry or slightly damp strands. Remember to protect your hands with gloves.
  • Observe all proportions indicated in the instructions. The ratio of the elements may differ depending on the manufacturer.
  • Start bleaching from the roots. Carefully apply the product with a brush over the entire length in a row, and then massage the hair well so that the coloring components penetrate deep into the structure of the curls. When highlighting individual strands, it is recommended to apply the composition, departing from the root 0.5-1 cm.
  • For maximum effect, wear a cap. If the scalp is sensitive, then discard the cap, as this manipulation can provoke irritation.
  • Typically, the holding time is limited to one hour. If the blonde wants to get the effect of more lightened strands, then 15 minutes is enough for her. If a girl with dark hair is engaged in coloring, then it is recommended that she wait 1 hour, but not more, otherwise the chemistry will burn her hair. If it was not possible to achieve the desired result from one procedure (usually, in one session, the brunette's strands are lightened only by 2-3 tones), it is better to repeat the manipulation after a few weeks.
  • Next, you need to wash off the henna. This is done very carefully. After washing, a nourishing mask is applied to the head, the hair is washed again.

Recommendations

It is worth exploring the following additional tips for using white henna that given by hairdressers:

  • you do not need to prepare your hair for the use of this product; it is better not to wash your hair for several days before the procedure, thereby the negative effect of chemicals will be minimized as much as possible;
  • to prevent the formation of burns on the skin from accidental drops, it is recommended to pre-treat the neck and forehead with any cream;
  • when it's time to wash off the henna, it is better to refuse to use shampoo - tap water is enough; in this way, the staining effect will be better fixed;
  • to prevent overdrying of the dermis and the formation of seborrhea after complete rinsing of the product, use a balm;
  • white henna can also be used to eliminate unsuccessful staining - for this, a mask is prepared from 30 grams of white henna, 30 ml of an oxidizing agent, 60 ml of hot water and 15 grams of shampoo, kept for 20 minutes and washed off; stylists warn that, due to the content of synthetic components, this is not the safest paint remover.

Reviews

Judging by the reviews, white henna is a fairly popular hair lightening remedy. Women note a quick and lasting effect, but in order to achieve the desired result, it is necessary to carry out several staining sessions. Customers love the economical price of this hair lightener, but some women are upset that their hair has deteriorated after dyeing with henna.

In their opinion, the amount of natural henna in the composition of the product is not enough to reduce the influence of other aggressive components.

Particular attention should be paid to reviews of brunettes who decided to lighten the strands. Some of them are satisfied with the result and note that, apart from white henna, they have not found any effective means for lightening. Others leave negative reviews: their strands after henna acquired a green tint, which even the traditional hairdressing hair dye could not discolor.
