  • conducting an induction briefing for all new employees;

  • annual reception of a fire safety minimum from the company's management;
  • quarterly check of the technical condition of fire extinguishing systems;
  • regular training to evacuate workers in the event of a fire.

In addition, a fire prevention engineer in an enterprise has some other types of work that at first glance may seem insignificant. Nevertheless, no one canceled their observance. These include, for example:

  • organizing a smoking area and ensuring that employees smoke in the designated area;
  • inspection of warehouses in which flammable and explosive materials are stored;
  • checking any other production equipment for oil and diesel leaks.

By the nature of his occupation, a fire safety inspector contacts with the top officials of enterprises, their deputies, as well as shift workers.

However, they must provide training for all workers without exception.

Regardless of the scope of the enterprise, the fire safety inspector has his own rights and responsibilities.

An employee in this position has the right:

  • to remove from the performance of their work duties employees who have not been instructed in industrial safety techniques;
  • suspend the activities of structural units, the premises of which do not meet the standards of industrial safety;
  • make proposals for bonuses and other types of incentives for those employees who have shown high results during training activities to maintain PB;
  • demand from employees of the enterprise of any rank to assist in the prevention of fire hazardous situations - any refusal can be regarded as a violation of fire safety standards established by law;
  • regularly check all functional units to assess the risk of fire hazardous situations;
  • receive any information related to the performance of official duties.

At the same time, this person also bears increased responsibility.

In particular, disciplinary sanctions may result from:

  • failure to comply with their job descriptions or their implementation is not in full;
  • inadequate technical condition of fire protection equipment and systems at the facility;
  • actions that led to the infliction of material damage to the company as a result of a fire hazardous situation;
  • inaccurate information provided by the inspector of Rospozhnadzor.

Responsibilities

In accordance with ECTS, the activity of a fire safety engineer is subject to the job description, which sets out his responsibilities.

  1. Planning preventive fire-fighting measures.
  2. Auditing all structural divisions of the company to identify fire hazardous situations. This includes the analysis of the state of industrial buildings, structures and workshops, monitoring of warehouses of finished products, raw materials, as well as vehicles owned by the company.
  3. Compilation and development of a set of measures to optimize the fire situation at the facility, prevention of the appearance of hotbeds of fire and, accordingly, reduce the risk of fire.
  4. Conducting firefighting training with the employees of the enterprise, this is especially true in the case of engineering and technical workers who, according to their duty, are associated with technological equipment, electricity, high temperatures and other potentially dangerous conditions.
  5. Introduction recommendations for improving fire safety techniques at the enterprise.
  6. Requirements from managers introducing safety measures into the general work plan of the company.
  7. Regular check-up the entire facility for compliance with fire regulations.
  8. Participation in all programs, conducted by the State Fire Supervision.
  9. Verification of employees' compliance with regulationsrelated to the fire safety of the company.
  10. Drawing up PB instructions both for the entire object as a whole, and for its individual subdivisions.
  11. In the event of a risk of a fire situation - identification of the culprits.

In the event of a fire at the facility, the fire safety engineer performs the following functions:

  • supervising workers involved in extinguishing the source of ignition;
  • organization of safe evacuation of employees;
  • calling the bodies of the Ministry of Emergency Situations;
  • organization of full assistance to fire brigades arriving at the scene of the fire;
  • participation in the investigation of the causes of the incident;
  • representing the interests of the company in courts and other institutions on all issues of compliance with fire safety standards at the enterprise.

Knowledge and skills

In order for the safety engineer to be able to fully fulfill his job duties, he must know:

  • all applicable laws and regulationsregulating topical issues of fire safety;
  • principles of organizing supervision for compliance with the rules of industrial safety - there are a lot of specific points here;
  • the procedure for the development of work instructions industrial safety specialists at the enterprise;
  • criminal and administrative law in terms of fires at objects of all types;
  • rules for the use of fire protection systems and fire extinguishing tools;
  • employee behavior patterns companies in the event of a fire;
  • psychology of human behavior in case of emergencies;
  • operating TC Russian Federation;
  • rules of business economics and ergonomics, the basics of personnel management.

Education

A person may be appointed to the position of an engineer for the prevention of industrial safety:

  • having higher engineering and technical education, level - bachelor's degree;
  • having secondary special education in the areas of training mid-level engineers in terms of fire safety;
  • having secondary specialized education or non-core higher if they have mastered additional programs for retraining and advanced training;
  • past special training in the specialty "Fire safety at the enterprise";
  • having work experience not less than 1 year at the position of the inspector or instructor of the PB.

Work

A fire safety engineer is required in any manufacturing or construction enterprise. This position has been included in the staffing table of departments of the Ministry of Emergencies, municipal preschool, secondary and higher educational institutions and hospitals, as well as companies providing services for the installation of fire automatics. At the same time, the scope of the organization largely determines the specifics of the work of a fire engineer.

In supermarkets, the safety engineer is obliged to carry out regular checks of electrical installations and refrigeration equipment. A completely different approach to the work of this specialist in kindergartens and schools - here they pay increased attention to the technical condition of the building itself, as well as the kitchen where food is prepared for children.

We draw your attention to the fact that before being appointed to the position, the candidate must undergo training and pass the fire-technical minimum.

After the issuance of an order on the appointment of an employee to the position of an engineer, this employee must undergo training within a month, only after that he will be recognized as having passed the probationary period and finally approved for a responsible position.
