  • participate in the organization and conduct of scientific and practical research and the implementation of laboratory and technical developments;
  • produce data collection and analysis in order to monitor the efficiency of production and create a set of measures to increase its efficiency;
  • provide timeliness and appropriate quality of all workrelated to the technical and production part;
  • achieve compliance of the implemented production projects with accepted standards, as well as the technical capabilities of the enterprise;
  • supervise the design of circuits in various directions, as well as methods and means of monitoring the progress of experiments and tests, drawing up laboratory models;
  • make up description of the basic principles of the designed objects and products, as well as make calculations to justify the adoption of certain technical solutions;
  • supervise the installation and commissioning of new equipment;
  • provide compliance with safety requirements when performing production work;
  • participate in formation and implementation of a set of measures aimed at reducing costs for the production and technical component of the project;
  • organize implementation of the achievements of Russian and foreign science at the enterprise;
  • prepare reviews based on research and development data;
  • make up qualified opinions on technical documentationwhich may come from any third party;
  • participate in the evaluation of scientific works, as well as the preparation of publications;
  • file patent applications and prototypes;
  • take part in scientific seminars and conferencesheld among representatives of the technical communities;
  • realize guidance of technicians and engineers.

In addition to responsibilities, the lead engineer also has his own rights. So, he must be constantly aware of all projects that are in one way or another related to his work. The leading engineer has the right to make proposals regarding the efficiency of his work and the rational use of production capacities and resources. To qualify for the position of a lead engineer, an employee must be well aware of the following:

  • materials that, to one degree or another, determine the direction of development of a particular branch of industry, science, technology, economy;
  • prospects for further development of the field in which the leading specialist works;
  • basic research methodology, organization of testing, experiments and laboratory experiments;
  • Russian and foreign achievements in the field of science and technology;
  • methodological literature in terms of the developed problems or related issues;
  • current technical specifications, standards, GOSTs and other standards for the operation of production and technological systems;
  • requirements for the development and implementation of technical documents;
  • principles of registration of patents and patent science;
  • methodological bases for dispatching the production process;
  • methodology of procurement procedures;
  • requirements approved by law for the rules of organization and work rationing;
  • the basics of the current labor legislation;
  • fire safety rules and regulations.

Important! A leading engineer is required to have a good command of special computer programs that allow him to develop and supervise the maintenance of a particular technical project.

Qualification Requirements

In accordance with the existing qualification requirements, only a person with a higher professional education, whose work experience in the specialty is at least 5 years, can be appointed to the position of a leading engineer.
