  • Better to buy high-quality plasticine with bright juicy shades to make it interesting for the baby to work with.

  • It will be necessary special board for modeling. This will keep the table clean and will also teach the child to be tidy.

  • Stacks will be needed. With their help, it will be possible to cut off pieces of plasticine, as well as make recesses, and create a relief, if necessary.

At first, this will be enough to sculpt a simple object.

How to make a whole watermelon?

Modeling for children is definitely an exciting activity. Especially when everything works out. And a watermelon is just that plasticine craft that a child will master, even if he is just getting acquainted with this type of activity. Let's consider step by step how to make a whole watermelon.

  • First, take a piece of red plasticine and roll a ball out of it.... To make our future watermelon look realistic, you can mix black beads or beads into the mass. These will be seeds.

  • Then we take green plasticine, knead it. First, roll up a thick sausage, and then roll it out so that you get a tight rug.
  • We put our red ball in it and wrap it on all sides so that the ball was now completely white.
  • We roll it and level it, so that a completely green ball forms in front of us. And then, according to the same scheme, we wrap the white ball in green plasticine, doing the same manipulations. At the end we will have a green ball.
  • Let's put it aside. Meanwhile, roll up thin sausages from light green plasticine.
  • Next, we wrap them around the green ball and flatten them so, so that they are stripes, then smooth it out.
  • It turned out to be a watermelon. And if you cut it with a plastic knife, you can see that inside it is, indeed, a watermelon.

Such a wonderful and realistic craft can be obtained by a child in just half an hour.

How to mold a watermelon wedge?

Making a watermelon wedge is even easier and faster than a whole watermelon. Let's figure out step by step how to do it correctly.

For simplicity and convenience, we will make two slices at once. It will be much easier for a novice master to implement this option.

  • Take a piece of red plasticine and roll the ball. Next, our task is to make it flat. To do this, put it on a sculpting board, flatten it slightly, and then roll it out. It is not necessary to make it too thin.

  • At the next stage, using a white piece of plastic material, we blind a thin sausage. We will wrap a red flat circle with it. And then we will sculpt a green sausage, a little more, and wrap the circle again.

  • Then we take black plasticine. We tear off very tiny pieces and sculpt balls from them, then give them an oval shape.

  • They need to be glued on the red circle and press slightly inward.

  • Next, it remains to take a plastic knife and carefully cut the circle down the middle.

  • We got it two wonderful watermelon slices.

You can use another method as well. To do this, you need to mold a semicircle from red or pink material, glue white and then green sausages on the rounded side, and then apply black dots from plasticine to a watermelon slice.

Useful Tips

Before starting classes, you need to listen to useful tips that will make the sculpting process fun, informative and safe.

  • So that the child can fully immerse the process without worrying about anything, it is best to wear an apron and sleeves to protect your clothing.
  • Before starting work, you must also prepare a clean cloth, a bowl of water and wet wipes. All this can come in handy during sculpting.
  • It is desirable to have in front of you a picture and a whole watermelon, and slices so that the baby can see what to strive for.
  • And you also need to tell what a watermelon is., what plants it belongs to, where it grows, and so on.
  • You can sculpt not only a watermelon, but also a plate for it... If desired, you can add other fruits to the still life.
  • During work, it is worth helping the child, if necessary.... Be sure to praise him and cheer him up, even if his watermelon looks less attractive.
  • Decorate the watermelon with additional decorative items such as beads or beads, it is possible only if there is confidence that the child will not drag these objects into his mouth and thrust them into his nose.
  • After the work is completed, the child needs to be shown how to put all things in place, where to put what, how to wipe the table, board. The next time after class, you need to give him the opportunity to clean up on his own.
