How to mold a unicorn from plasticine?
Fabulous creatures have been and remain a favorite theme for children of all ages. During creative activities, children often have a desire to sculpt a unicorn from plasticine. This mythical horse with a horn often has a variety of colors and patterns, so while sculpting, the baby can show his imagination, invention and creative thinking.
Simple option
The basis of any unicorn is the body of a horse. Therefore, before starting classes, you need to get acquainted with the features of the anatomy of this animal. However, it is not at all necessary to observe the proportions. It is much more interesting for children to create cartoon characters with a large head relative to the rest of the body - they remind them of the characters of their favorite fairy tales. Here's what you need to sculpt a unicorn.
- Plasticine. Try to select high quality material. The mass should be plastic, pliable and not sticky to your hands.
- Stacks. If you don't have the right tool, a plastic knife and even a ruler will do.
- Wire. It will be required in order for the unicorn figurine to keep its shape. It is usually inserted into the neck and legs; alternatively, you can take toothpicks or matches.
First, make a small sketch on paper. Let the baby draw the future unicorn himself, and the parents will only make minimal adjustments. Step-by-step instructions for creating a horse from plasticine involve several stages. To begin with, a block of plasticine is rolled into a cylinder and bent on both sides. With the help of a stack, the workpiece is given the outline of the horse's body. Several more bars are formed from plasticine of the same shade - these will be the legs. They are fixed at the bottom of the body and given the necessary shape with a stack.
Next, you need a mass of white. A small ball is formed from it and slightly flattened. Then layers of different shades are made, while each subsequent one should be slightly longer than the previous one. The blanks are folded to make a rainbow.
The edges of the rainbow are carefully trimmed with a knife. The hind and front legs of the horse are attached to the body with a toothpick or match. After that, the unicorn is placed on a rainbow stand, if desired, it can be decorated with a cloud. Eyes are formed from black and white plasticine. For hooves, take a colored mass for modeling.
The mouth and nose of the unicorn are outlined with a stack.
A horn is rolled from the scraps of the rainbow stand. It is placed on the top of the animal, it is best to attach it to a wire or a piece of a toothpick. After that, all that remains is to roll a few bundles of bright saturated shades. They form the tail and mane. At the final stage of the work, you need to sculpt the ears and attach them to the head.
Your unicorn is ready - such a craft can become a real decoration of a children's room.
How to make from light plasticine?
A very interesting unicorn is obtained from airy plasticine. Compared to the usual one, it has many advantages. Such a mass is very soft and delicate, pliable when molded. It does not have to be warmed up and kneaded for a long time before work. In addition, it does not stick to your hands and smells good. To work you will need a sculpting mass of several shades, wire and a knife. Let's dwell in more detail on the process of creating a unicorn in stages.
- To begin with, a small ball is rolled from a block of plasticine. It is given an elongated shape so that the muzzle of an animal is obtained.
- Ears are formed from two cakes of the same shade.
- Then the horn is molded. To do this, plasticine is twisted into a spiral and placed on the top of the horse's head.
- Using a stack, make eyes.
- The rest of the plasticine is rolled in the form of a carrot and the end is folded.
- After that, four legs are formed.
- All parts of the unicorn's body are connected. To ensure good fixation, pieces of wire or wooden sticks are placed inside.
- A lot of thin flagella are sculpted from light plasticine of rainbow shades. They are placed in place of the tail and mane. To make them more airy, the flagella are twisted in a spiral manner.
After creating a small unicorn, you need to leave it out in the air. After a few hours, the craft will become dry, but at the same time retain its delicate and velvety structure. Such a sculpture can be safely put on a shelf for decoration or as a gift to loved ones. However, be sure to place unused plasticine in an airtight bag or jar. Otherwise, it will wind up and it will be impossible to work with it.
DIY figurine with wings
In order to dazzle a unicorn with wings, you need to follow simple instructions. A small piece is pinched off a piece of plasticine, and a ball is formed from it. The front is pulled slightly to form a unicorn face. Stacks represent eye incisions. A small cake is formed from plasticine of a darker color and attached to the animal's face. They designate the mouth and eyes, for this they take white and black plasticine - they roll it into balls, and then flatten it.
Carrots are sculpted from a block of plasticine of the same color as the head. The front part is slightly bent upward. The head and body are connected to each other. It is best to secure them with a toothpick. Bars are rolled from the same material, they will be used as horse legs.
The hooves are formed from the mass of a contrasting color. After that, the legs are inserted into the body, the edges are gently smoothed out. From the mass of rainbow colors, many bundles are rolled up.
They form the tail and mane. Then they make a couple of triangles of any saturated shade of color - these will be the wings. They add another contrasting color scheme to them, and make out an imitation of feathers. Glued to the body. They make a horn and fix it on the head.Without it, you get a pegasus.
Modeling with cones
A rather unusual unicorn can be obtained using plasticine and natural materials. It is not at all difficult to sculpt such a figurine. You will need acorn caps or an elongated shell and bumps. Here is a sequence of actions. Take a couple of buds of different sizes: smaller for the head, larger for the body. Brush off all dust, remove dirt with a damp cloth. Roll four foot rollers out of brown plasticine. In this case, the bars for the front legs should be slightly thinner than for the hind legs. Draw hooves from the acorn caps. Anchor the limbs firmly on the bump that is used as the torso. The base of the figure must be stable.
Fix big eyes on the bump-head. Draw a white base, a purple or blue iris, and a black pupil. In the corners of your eyes, stick a pair of white reflections - this is a hallmark of the eyes of any unicorn. Roll long cords for the mane and tail from plasticine of different colors.
Make an elongated neck out of brown plasticine, with its help connect the body and head. Use the small black balls to form the nostrils of the unicorn. Fasten colored strands on your head. The animal's mane should look beautiful and playful. The magic unicorn is ready - all that remains is to add a horn.
Making a unicorn from plasticine is not difficult at all. This activity will surely please both the child and his parents. Before you start sculpting, be sure to think over the whole image of the sculpture as a whole. Once you make the base, you can move on to creating the decor elements.
Patterns and decorations for the mane look very impressive on the body of a fabulous horse. If you wish, you can place the animal on a flowering lawn.
