Modeling a dragonfly from plasticine
Modeling a dragonfly from plasticine can be very fun. It is necessary to know not only how to make it from natural materials, but also how to gradually mold a volumetric dragonfly.
A separate important topic is the modeling of an insect on cardboard step by step.
How to make a simple one on cardboard?
"Helicopters" flying overhead immediately draw attention to themselves in warm weather. The beauty of this insect determines its popularity. For children, even urban ones, dragonflies are quite familiar. Therefore, you can reproduce them by sculpting rather quickly. You will need blue material to create:
-
hulls;
-
tail;
-
heads.
Orange plasticine is useful for sculpting wings. Everything is done step by step like this:
-
3 balls of approximately similar size are formed (they are cut off and kneaded by hands);
-
a head is fashioned from one small ball;
-
stretch the rest of the pair of balls, roll them out with your fingers;
-
give the body an oval shape, but it should still be wider than the tail;
-
lengthen and thin the tail section;
-
connect all 3 cooked parts one by one;
-
modify the tail with a stack;
-
draw it with the edge of a transverse-type ring;
-
add wings and eyes from large green half-beads;
-
transfer the figurine to the cardboard (if it was not placed immediately).
How to mold a voluminous dragonfly?
Giving the composition the required volume is logically combined with the use of bright and catchy material. In this case, the body and tail are made of a relatively dark color. The wings are molded from lighter shades of plasticine. A graceful marble effect can be created without difficulty. You need to work in stages like this:
-
pull the ball to the "sausage" state;
- sharpen it from one side;
- cut with a stack, obtaining a bifurcation effect;
- notches are made in the longitudinal plane;
- cut a separate piece into 4 fragments and stretch them into flat wings;
- attach them to the body, achieving a "flutter" sensation;
-
the wings are cut with a straight regular notch;
-
attach the head;
-
add eyes to it;
-
attach a string if they want the plasticine dragonfly to flutter as its prototype.
Crafts with natural materials
This option actually differs little from the previous ones. It is difficult to say what color will come in handy when sculpting a dragonfly. Each of them is unique, and the types are different... The wings of a real insect are transparent, and the easiest way to mark this is in white. Figures with leaves against the background of the dragonflies themselves look only more natural and more authentic.
They begin work by rolling the plasticine tile into an oval. The other part is pulled out like a sausage. These will be the body and tail, respectively. As in the previous case, you need to take a stack and cut the edge of the tail with it. Longitudinal notches along its entire length will also be a mandatory feature.
Next you need:
- dock the head ball to the body;
- fix large spherical eyes on the head;
- form 4 oblong wings from white or beige plasticine;
- attach these wings to the body of the insect;
- provide pairs of wings with webbed ornament (but it is better to do this before mounting in the designated place);
- as necessary, strengthen the wings with matches or wire;
- complement the composition with leaves and twigs, which are attached to the same cardboard.
But you can act differently - to make a figure of a dragonfly, in which plasticine will play only an auxiliary role.
The belly and head are sculpted from it. The seeds of any plants are used to make eyes. A twig is used to make the tail. To obtain wings, maple lionfish are used, and legs and antennae are formed from thin stainless or copper wire.
