Plasticine sculpting is a fun activity for both toddlers and schoolchildren. The process of creating cute crafts develops imagination and fine motor skills, as well as trains memory. Figures of hares and rabbits are simple in execution and very cute. Even the smallest can make them from plasticine.

What materials to use?

Before starting work, you need to prepare your workplace. So that the kid does not stain the table, he should sculpt crafts on boards with a flat surface. They can be plastic or silicone. Conventional cutting boards are not suitable for this purpose.

It is also necessary to prepare in advance the plasticine of the selected colors. You can use different types of materials to create your own crafts.

  • Classical. Such plasticine is most often used to create crafts in kindergartens and schools. This material has a pliable structure and bright color. Such plasticine is inexpensive.

The disadvantages of this material include weak plasticity. Therefore, it is not suitable for children under 4–5 years of age, who may find it difficult to work with hard blocks.

  • Wax. This material is much more suitable for babies. It contains wax. Therefore, it is softer and more flexible. It is easy to warm up, and the individual parts of the figures are perfectly connected to each other.

It is also worth noting that wax plasticine is absolutely safe for health. There are no unnecessary impurities and toxic substances in it.

  • Air. The bright sculpting mass has a pleasant texture and is easy to knead in the hands. It consists of polymeric materials, quality food colors and a small amount of water. This material does not stain surfaces and does not stick to hands at all.

Despite the fact that in the process of work the mass seems too soft, it hardens very quickly.

  • Vegetable. Soft plasticine on a plant basis is produced by foreign manufacturers. The bars are distinguished by their bright color. Different shades mix well with each other. Therefore, using a standard set of bars, you can sculpt brightly colored figures.

Such plasticine is suitable even for the smallest. It is completely safe and smells good.

  • Ball. This material is also great for toddlers. The modeling mass consists of small balls, which are connected to each other with high-quality glycerin glue. In the process of sculpting, plasticine massages the hands. Only the simplest bunny figures can be sculpted from it. In addition, after the end of the work, the craft should be given time to dry completely.

In addition to plasticine, the child will need a stack to work. It is used to decorate figurines. Finished products can also be decorated with scrap materials, for example: cones or beads. They should also be prepared in advance.

How to make a gray bunny?

Having prepared all the necessary materials, you can proceed to sculpting crafts. Even a small child can fashion a small gray bunny out of plasticine according to this step-by-step scheme, because it consists of large parts.

  1. You need to separate a large piece from the gray bar and knead it well, then divide it into two parts. One should be slightly larger and the other smaller.
  2. A small detail should be set aside. The large ball needs to be slightly stretched and bent.
  3. From a bar of gray plasticine, you need to separate two more small balls and form them into neat sausages. The resulting legs are attached to the upper body.
  4. Long ears should be sculpted in the same way. They can both stick up and be lowered down. The gray hare will turn out pretty anyway.
  5. Having attached the ears to the head, you can begin to shape the muzzle. On it you need to designate the eyes. They consist of small crushed balls of white, green and black.
  6. Eyelashes to the bunny can be molded from black plasticine or "drawn" with a stack.
  7. A voluminous muzzle made of a piece of beige plasticine is attached to the lower part of the head. In the middle, you need to place a neat pink nose and a small mouth. The bunny's whiskers can also be "painted" with a stack.
  8. The figure will be complemented by large paws decorated with pink and beige pads. They can be cut in a stack from a large flat piece or molded from round balls. Thanks to this decoration, the bunny turns out to be truly cartoonish.
  9. A small beige tail must be attached to the lower part of the animal's back. This addition will make the figurine more stable.

A cute plasticine hare can become part of an original composition with flowers and other animals.

Modeling a rabbit with a carrot

The cartoon blue rabbit with carrot looks bright and cute. Only a few colors are used to sculpt it.

  • To begin with, you need to form the base of the figure from blue plasticine. It should be round and smooth. Four legs of approximately the same size are attached to it. A pair of elongated ears must be formed from the same light blue plasticine. They are fixed on the basis of the crown. Their edges are neatly leveled so that the joints are completely invisible.
  • Two large oval eyes should be sculpted from white plasticine and supplemented with black bead pupils. The same plasticine is used to create cloves. They should be smooth and neat. The bunny's face will be decorated with a pink nose and dark blue eyebrows.
  • To create a carrot, a piece of orange plasticine must be carefully stretched out in length and supplemented with a small green tail. Half of the resulting shape needs to be cut and attached to the hare's face. When the toy is ready, it should be decorated with a stack.

Other options

When modeling from plasticine, you can use ready-made crafts and various characters from fairy tales or cartoons as sources of inspiration. The choice depends on the preferences and hobbies of the child.

In overalls

You can make a figurine of a cute and funny hare in overalls with your own hands in just a couple of minutes. To create such a craft, you will need colored plasticine, a toothpick and a stack. The step-by-step sculpting process is described below.

  1. First you need to mold a bright jumpsuit from blue and purple plasticine. To create this part, a piece of plasticine must be kneaded and carefully pulled in height.
  2. Using a toothpick, divide the lower part of the figure in two, forming the legs.
  3. At the top of the jumpsuit, you need to fix two purple balls that will act as buttons. Larger plasticine balls must be kneaded well and formed into paws.
  4. To make the figurine stable, the shoes must be attached to the bottom of the jumpsuit.
  5. One small ball, a pair of paws and ears must be formed from beige plasticine.
  6. The paws are attached to the animal's figure on the sides of the body. The ears are slightly extended upward and fixed on the head of the hare.
  7. To make the figure more durable, the head must be fixed to the body with a match or half of a toothpick.
  8. Two blue eyes and a purple nose will decorate the animal's face. The rest of the details can be added with a stack.
  9. A tail must be attached to this figure at the back.

To make the hare look more interesting, the craft can be supplemented with a colored bow or a rose attached to the neck. The miniature toy looks cute and attractive.

White

The following white plasticine craft is suitable for children 5-6 years old. To blind a hare with your own hands, you just need to follow simple instructions.

  1. A piece of white plasticine must be divided into 7 parts.
  2. From the largest part, you need to form the body of the hare, giving it a pear-shaped shape.
  3. The second piece must be gently kneaded and made into a round head.
  4. To make the front and hind legs, you need to roll four more pieces of plasticine into even flagella. Two of them will turn out to be short, two more - long.
  5. Longer flagella must be carefully rolled up. The legs will resemble small snails in shape. When they are ready, they need to be attached to the bottom of the figurine.
  6. The front legs are attached to the upper half of the product.
  7. After that, you can proceed to the design of the face. On it you need to place two blue eyes and a pink nose.
  8. Crushed pink stripes are attached to the long white ears. After that, both parts of the same size are fixed on the crown. They should not be too large or heavy so that the figurine does not fall.
  9. Finally, the head and a small tail must be attached to the body of the hare.

The finished figurine is stable and attractive.

Easter bunny

The cute Easter bunny figurine is a more complex craft. But the beautiful result is definitely worth the time.

  1. The first step is to mold the animal's body from a large piece of gray plasticine.
  2. From the small one you need to roll a smaller ball. It needs to be shaped like a pear. The body and head must be connected together. Using a stack, the junction must be carefully smoothed out.
  3. It is also necessary to separate a small piece of plasticine from the white bar. You need to roll a small drop from it. It neatly joins the upper torso. The edges of the breast should be emphasized with a stack.
  4. From the same white plasticine, you need to form the cheeks, which are attached to the lower part of the muzzle.
  5. Above, you need to make small indentations in which the eyes of the rabbit are located. The pink nose of the animal is attached above the white cheeks.
  6. The ears of a hare are located on the top of the head, white eyebrows are below.
  7. You need to make a small egg from plasticine of 2-3 colors. It is attached to the paws of the animal. They are made from elongated pieces of gray plasticine.

To make the craft look more original, the hare can be placed in a plasticine basket filled with eggs and flowers.

Air plasticine hare

A great option for beginners is a simple figurine made of light blue plasticine. The sculpting process consists of five steps.

  1. You need to start shaping the figure from the body. A piece of airy plasticine must be rolled into a ball, and then the body and head of a hare must be formed from it.
  2. After that, the face of the animal must be decorated with eyes, nose and teeth of a suitable color. All small parts must be securely fixed. This is done so that they do not fall off during the game.
  3. When the muzzle is ready, you can move on to sculpting the paws, tail and ears. The lower legs of a hare should be drop-shaped and slightly pressed against the body. Using a stack, you need to make small cuts on them.
  4. The ears are molded slightly flattened and elongated. After they are attached to the hare's head, they must be carefully twisted inward.
  5. A small flat oval should be fashioned from white plasticine and attached to the stomach. The joints must be made even and smooth.

Since light plasticine dries quickly, the figure should be made simple and consisting of a minimum number of small elements. Otherwise, the base of the craft will dry out quickly - it will be very difficult to glue the parts to it.

Applique with a hare

In addition to beautiful miniature figures, you can also sculpt a flat picture on paper from plasticine. As a basis for such an application, it is worth using high-quality cardboard. You can choose any color for the background.

  • Getting started, you need to separate a piece of brown tint from the plasticine bar. From two balls of different sizes, you need to form the head and body of the hare. They are attached in the middle of the sheet. The front and hind legs, as well as the tail, are sculpted from the smaller balls, the ears are made from the two elongated "sausages". They curl slightly and are attached at the top of the head.
  • Additional details for the muzzle are molded from plasticine of white, pink and black colors. They work with them according to the same principle as in the case of three-dimensional figures. When the base is ready, it needs to be decorated with a stack, making the hare more fluffy. Free space in the background can be supplemented with flowers and green leaves.

Such simple figures are able to conquer both kids and adults. Any of them can be easily dazzled together with your child.
