With the help of small bows made using the popular kanzashi technique, you can decorate any look, adding some mystery to it. Such bows can be used not only for decorating hairstyles, but also for clothes, for example, as brooches. The kanzashi technique may seem complicated, but if you start with simple patterns, such needlework will seem very simple and fun.

Peculiarities

The original name for the Kanzashi technique has its origins in ancient Japanese culture in the sixteenth century. It was then that at the peak of popularity in this country were a variety of silk hair ornaments.The technique of weaving bows from a ribbon is based on the familiar to many "origami". The difference from origami is only in the materials used. Using natural silk, the Japanese created beautiful flowers, which were then attached to their hair. Today, in addition to flowers, small kanzashi bows are also very popular.

Small and lush bows are collected not according to some ordinary algorithm, but by correctly folding silk or satin and connecting them together.

A needle with thread can be exchanged for a gun with glue, in fact, it performs the same function, but significantly reduces the time for sewing.

Tools and materials

Before starting to work with ribbons in this technique, it is important to understand that you will have to learn how to put the material into a certain ornament, paying special attention to the schemes.

So, in addition to silk or satin, you may need to create bows:

  • , of different sizes (the width can be varied, the volume of future bows will depend on it);
  • ruler, small craft scissors, needles and thread.

It is also advisable to purchase tweezers for working with small parts, a soldering iron (or a lighter) will come in handy in order to remove the fringe on the ribbons.

Execution technique

Today there are several different techniques for collecting bows using the kanzashi technique. Some of them can be assembled in half an hour, while others may take more than one day to create. Let's consider in general terms the technique of creating hair jewelry at home according to the general scheme.

  1. Pre-purchased ribbons of the required color should be cut into squares, the ends of the ribbons must be processed from the fringe using a lighter or a soldering iron.
  2. Next, using a needle and thread in the color, the cut ribbons should be assembled into one whole. Glue the resulting part to the selected base. It can be felt or any hard fabric. It is recommended to cover the base with tape;
  3. In the center of the created bow, you can glue a decor, for example, a large bead or place rhinestones.
  4. The resulting jewelry should be glued to the main accessory on which it will be worn. This can be a hair hoop, an elastic band, or a crab hairpin.

As a decoration for bows, you can use various decorative stones, rhinestones, beads, beads and artificial flowers.
