Kazan is a metal cauldron with a semicircular bottom. The presence of this feature of the form necessitates the arrangement of a special furnace. It differs from a conventional wood-burning stove in several design points. Depending on the need and location, The cauldron furnace can be built from refractory bricks or made from scrap materials: a gas cylinder, car disks, a metal pipe.

How to make a stove from gas cylinders?

The hearth for warming up a cauldron from a gas cylinder is a portable device that can be installed in any convenient place and even be used in field conditions. To make it, you will need the following materials:

  • gas cylinder;
  • fittings;
  • grate bars;
  • Door hinges;
  • other related materials.

In the process of assembling the furnace from a cylinder, the following consumables will be used:

  • cutting discs for grinders;
  • grinding wheels for angle grinders;
  • sandpaper;
  • drill;
  • welding electrodes.

The minimum set of required tools:

  • welding machine;
  • Bulgarian;
  • electric drill;
  • hammer;
  • measuring devices (tape measure or ruler);
  • other related tools.

The gas cylinder is installed on its base. At a distance of 60-70 cm from its bottom, a mark is set to indicate the cut point. A circular line is drawn through the mark. It is important that it is drawn strictly parallel to the surface on which the cylinder is installed. Along this line, with the help of a grinder and a cutting wheel, the cylinder wall is cut. The upper sawn-off part is removed.

Vertical triangular cuts are made in the cutting edge of the cylinder. Their number and depth are determined by the individual design of the future oven. These cutouts are necessary to maintain a stable draft after installing the cauldron on the oven. The absence of pull holes will create a vacuum inside the oven, causing the flame to extinguish. A rectangle is marked on the side wall of the cylinder. Sawing is performed along the contour line of the rectangle. The resulting hole will serve as the entrance part of the future firebox, and the cut-off piece will serve as the door of the stove.

A rectangular section of the cylinder wall is welded in place using hinge loops. On the side of the furnace hole opposite from the hinges, a piece of metal is welded on the inside.

Its location should be such that it prevents the door from opening inside the cylinder and at the same time does not interfere with loading firewood into the firebox. For convenience, a handle is welded to the surface of the door, which can be made from fittings. In order for the door to close reliably, on its edge adjacent to the cylinder body, it is equipped with movable valve.

Cut out below the main hole blower hole. Its width should correspond to the width of the furnace opening, and its height should not exceed 10 cm. The metal rectangle obtained after the cut is used to equip the door, which helps to regulate the amount of oxygen entering the furnace.

In order for the blower door to function fully, it is enough to use one hinge. It is not necessary to equip a valve.

Between the firebox door and the blower the grate is installed - a grate that prevents fuel material from entering the ash collector. To arrange a grate inside a round furnace, you can use reinforcing rods, the length of which will vary depending on the rounded shape of the inner space of the balloon furnace.

For arranging the grate, it is better to use fittings with a diameter of at least 20 mm. This is due to the presence of high temperatures inside the oven at the time of its warming up. Fittings with a smaller diameter can quickly burn out.

At a distance of 15-20 cm from the upper edge of the furnace, U-shaped handles are welded, with which it will be possible to transport this furnace. These handles are made of 12 mm diameter reinforcement. To ensure the stability of the balloon furnace, special spacers can be welded to its bottom. The number of spacers is determined individually, depending on the operating conditions and the size of the cauldron that will be installed on the hearth.

The stove for a cauldron, made with your own hands from a cylinder, is a multifunctional device. It can be installed in the country, and with some modifications can be used as a barbecue on which you can fry meat. The balloon stove can be used as a heating stove installed in a garage or any other utility room.

Homemade brick device

A baked oven made of bricks is a device, the manufacture of which is fraught with the greatest number of difficulties. Before starting the assembly of this oven, it is necessary to prepare a sufficient amount of materials and an appropriate list of tools. The material that forms the basis of such a furnace is brick. It is recommended to use its refractory equivalent, although the use of ordinary bricks is also allowed.

A cauldron oven made according to this type is stationary and cannot be moved to another place. In some cases, its chimney is fitted as part of the main blast furnace chimney.At the same time, the stove can serve not only as a household appliance, but also as an interior decoration. At the stage of preparation, design manipulations are performed. Drawings are prepared on which the dimensions of all the main parts of the structure are marked: the upper plane of the stove, furnace, blower, chimney holes.

First, the base of the furnace is prepared - the foundation. The stronger the base, the more stable the future oven will stand., which will exclude its curvature under the pressure of the weight of the cauldron, as well as under the influence of shrinkage processes. The outer walls of the furnace and its inner circular part are laid out simultaneously on the foundation.

The presence of circular masonry is mandatory, since in its absence, the weight of the filled boiler will fall exclusively on the cast-iron surface of the stove, which can lead to its destruction.

The inner diameter of the circular masonry must match the diameter of the hole in the slab. Thanks to this, the weight load will be evenly distributed, and its main part will lie on the brickwork. In the process of laying bricks, it is necessary to follow all the rules of this masonry. It is mandatory that the elements are ligated with each other, the primary erection of the corners (if any are provided for by the design).

It is important to pay attention to the quality of the joints between the bricks. This will determine the factor of keeping heat inside the furnace, as well as the degree of their gradual burning out. The solution is laid evenly with a margin. The excess part can be removed by subsequent manipulations.

It is recommended to use refractory mixtures as the base mortar, as this will prolong the life of the furnace. Alternatively, you can use clay mortar. However, at the same time, it is necessary to choose the right clay, the quality of which will correspond to the standards of stove-building. It should not be too greasy or contain an excessive amount of sand and other impurities. At the stage of laying the outer wall of the furnace, the following elements are laid:

  • blower doors;
  • grate bars;
  • furnace door.

These items are purchased in specialized stores. They should be made primarily of cast iron. Any other material is not suitable for oven installation. This is due to the fact that elements made of other materials quickly burn out, and a stationary furnace device is very problematic to repair.

The furnace of this furnace must correspond to the dimensions of the cauldron, which will be installed on the stove. Its internal space should be sufficient for loading a certain amount of firewood, and the distance between them and the bottom of the boiler should facilitate efficient combustion of fuel material.

Design options from car rims

A simple option for making a stove for a cauldron is a model made of several rims. In this case, only discs from stock wheels are used, since the material from which they are made and their shape are the most suitable for these purposes.

The two drives are stacked on top of each other. In this case, the front side of one disc should be facing up, and the similar side of the other down. Thanks to this arrangement, a free space is created between the discs, sufficient for filling it with fuel material. In this position, the discs are welded together. It is important that the line of contact is well welded.

In the side part of this structure, a furnace hole is cut out. Given the special design of the rims, there is no need to fit a wide opening. Its sufficient size will be one that will allow one log to be placed inside the furnace.

As an option, iron handles can be welded to the disc body to help hold the oven during transport.If necessary, this stove is equipped with spacers that prevent it from overturning during operation.

A cauldron stove made of wheel disks can be used in the country, in the yard of a house or in field conditions. Thanks to its versatility, it can be fitted with other cooking aids, such as a disc harrow converted to a wok.

Making a furnace from a metal pipe

The modification of a metal tube furnace is similar in design to a furnace made from a cylinder. In this case, additional refinement of some elements is required. The diameter of the pipe must be large enough for the installation of the boiler on it, and also allow it to be held securely. The height of such a furnace is determined by the individual needs of the person who will operate it. This parameter determines the convenience and efficiency of using the device.

Since the pipe section does not have a bottom part, it is necessary to equip it yourself. To do this, use a flat circle cut from sheet metal. The thickness of this part must be sufficient to withstand the pressure of the mass of the combustion product - ash. The absence of a bottom in this oven is allowed... In this case, there is no need to arrange a blower. It is enough to drill several holes at a height of 10 cm from the bottom edge of the housing.

A grate is installed approximately in the middle, on which firewood will lie. To ensure the best combustion of the fuel material, a furnace door is equipped, the fastening principle of which is similar to that on which the door of a furnace made from a cylinder is attached. Along the edge of the upper edge of the tubular body, air supply recesses are cut out, which are necessary to ensure stable traction. Such cutouts are required.

This method of manufacturing a furnace for a cauldron is one of the most problematic, as it requires a large number of modifications. Finding a pipe of a suitable diameter, which is rarely found in the public domain, is also a problem. According to most users, the most practical and easy to manufacture is the oven made from a gas cylinder.

The most convenient way can be seen in the next video.
