How to use the ring lamp?

The ring lamp is worn over the lens of a camcorder, but if you know where to install it, some smartphone and tablet users manage to use it as a background, but no less effective lighting.

The purpose of the ring lamp is to supplement the automatic flashlight in cases where the flash power is insufficient to cover a large number of people in the dark in an equally spacious but dark place.

As an example - the purchased model DivaRing LED 240. In addition to the lamp itself, the package also includes:

• mirror;

• tripod;

• bendable tube;

• screwdriver, mirror bolts;

• mount for a camera / phone / tablet;

• diffusers;

• power unit;

• remote.

The entire set is stored in a carrying bag. Follow the steps below to assemble the lamp.

1. To unfold the stand, loosen the screw on the side.

2. Spread three legs apart (essentially a tripod). The center with the axis is 10 cm from the floor.

3. Find a tripod height that is comfortable for shooting.

4. Install diffusers.

5. Adjust the tripod under the lamp by loosening the screw.

6. Slide the lamp onto the stand and secure it using this screw.

7. Connect the power supply to the lamp.

8. Adjust the brightness using the supplied dimmer.

9. Use flexible tubing to change the position of the ring.

The assembly is complete. Attach the holder to a tripod - for a video camera or mobile gadget - and slide your device into it... If necessary, install a mirror so that the light does not go up, where it is practically not needed.

According to the instructions, the survey is carried out through a large opening bounded by a circular light panel. As a ring lamp, some use an LED strip with parallel LEDs, which can even be powered by a simple 18650 lithium-ion battery connected through an additional quenching diode.

Loop-back flash units are attached directly to the camera itself, positioned around its lens... They have less shadow recoil since the flash source is located as close to the shooting lens as possible. The looped flash light allows you to create expressive photographs, for example, when shooting a girl model. A colorful shadow halo is created behind the person participating in the photo shoot.

The circular illumination is ideal for close-up photography of all sorts of little things that are easy to see in detail. Warm tones and dim lights are appropriate when doing macro photography - an enlarged microscopic close-up shot. The ring lamp is the best replacement for the illuminated panel used for advertising purposes.

The continuous ring light allows the lamp to be used anywhere. The light that hits people in the eyes will narrow their pupils, which makes the irises of the eyes differ well in the photo. The observer will immediately see what color each of the captured people has eyes. The flare effect will create a vision of an enchanting look.

Additional guidelines for using LED ring lights are as follows.

1. The ring lamp is useful for creating the appearance of a halo on the head. For example, by lowering the brightness, you can use the second ring light to place it on the girl's head. The resulting effect looks pretty cute - it mimics a crown. By the way, the creators of the computer game Mortal Kombat 11 used a blue LED lamp for the actress who played the character named Kronika, and then processed this special effect using game design software, creating a futuristic image of the "lady of the eras." Another character - Jade - appeared in an updated form: the developers of this series of games put more than a dozen small LED ring lights with a green glow on her battle pole: she also used bracers with the same rings flickering with a strobe frequency.

2. The ring light is suitable as a camping or “tent” light, for example on cycling trips... Suspended from the ceiling, it is able to provide uniform illumination - just like in a room.

3. Flexible LED rings, with a specific length and made with a coating and filling with transparent silicone, stretch over the smartphone (a phone with a camera) or on its case-book, like a kind of bumper.

4. The combination of two or more ring lamps creates an LED panel (lightbox).

5. If the person you are capturing in the photo is holding an LED ring light in his hand, then it is correct to use a matte productso that direct rays do not distort the vision of his facial features (depends on the parameters of the photo / video device).
