Features and Benefits

Finnish winter overalls have gained wide popularity and fame among Russian consumers due to their excellent quality and excellent heat-saving properties.

Unlike most of the leading Central European countries in the production of clothes, the climate of Finland is similar to the Russian one, the Finnish winter is as unpredictable and harsh as in most regions of Russia. In addition, it is also captivating that warm winter Finnish overalls are not thick and heavy at all, but light and relatively thin due to the use of high-tech materials.

Finnish children's overalls are warm, comfortable, functional, practical, bright and quite attractive in appearance.

It not only warms well, but also does not get wet during rain or snow, perfectly "breathes", almost does not get dirty and is perfectly cleaned. The overalls are sewn with many reflective details for the safety of children in the dark.

The detachable hood with drawstrings protects the baby's head and neck from the cold and wind. Rubber or silicone detachable footwear protects from snow ingress. Taped or soldered seams will prevent moisture from entering the product.

Winter overalls are designed for long walks in the fresh air, even at extremely low temperatures. They are easy to put on and take off, literally with one movement of the hand.

Such clothes do not constrain movements and at the same time do not allow hypothermia. Finnish overalls are quite wear-resistant, they are worn by more than one generation of children, they are passed from siblings several times in excellent condition.

The most vulnerable places, such as the bottom, bottom of the legs, knees, and even elbows, are reinforced by Finnish manufacturers with a special extra-strong material called Cordura.

As you know, most winter overalls from Finland are "plus" (+ 4 or + 6 to size), so you can safely wear them 2 winters in a row. In addition, most of the "baby" models have cuffs on the arms and legs, this is a kind of "reserve" for growth.

As for the price, everyone here can choose a product according to their taste only, but also according to their wallet. The approximate cost of a jumpsuit ranges from 3 to 7 thousand rubles, depending on the brand, model and size. In an extreme case, you can resort to buying a Finnish winter overalls on the secondary market, since, as a rule, such a product does not lose its consumer properties after one child.

Views

Finnish winter overalls are produced as separate and one-piece.

Separate sets consist of trousers / semi-overalls and a jacket. A bib may look like regular pants with wide, adjustable, often detachable suspenders, or it may have a full chest and back made of fleece or the same material as the pants.

The main plus of the separate winter overalls is that when entering the room, you can quickly and easily remove the jacket, without allowing the child to overheat. In addition, this model allows you to wash only the soiled part of the set. If the pants need to be washed after the walk, the child may continue to wear the jacket.

One-piece Finnish winter overalls are no less popular, because they are much warmer and more comfortable than in a separate set or a suit. They are especially good for small children; they are the most convenient option for long winter walks.

The one-piece jumpsuit is easy to put on, it is comfortable to move in it, and it does not lift up even during the most active body movements. Parents do not need to fear that the child will be blown, since in one-piece overalls there is no gap between the jacket and trousers.

Finnish manufacturers take care of newborns by releasing a special line of winter overalls for them. It presents everything for the maximum comfort of babies who still do not know how to actively move around.

The fastener of the transforming overalls consists of two zippers for the convenience of dressing children in a lying position.

Most of these overalls, if desired, can be transformed into a sleeping bag envelope using the zippers sewn into the bottom. Such transformer models are suitable for 2 winter seasons, as they are designed for ages from birth to one and a half years.

Colour

It is worth mentioning the wide range of colors of winter overalls produced by the most famous Finnish brands.

If children of different sexes are growing up in a family, then it is most convenient to choose the “unisex” category for purchase - yellow, bright blue, green, khaki, chocolate - all these shades are suitable for both boys and girls.

Jumpsuits with multi-colored stripes are also available for children of both sexes.

For kids, a neutral print will be all kinds of funny animals - bunnies, chanterelles, bears, pandas, lambs, penguins, frogs, bees, as well as stars and any "geometry".

Separately for little princesses, you can purchase winter overalls in pink, blackberry, coral, burgundy or cyclamen shades. The most popular prints for girls are flowers, hearts and snowflakes.

Young gentlemen can diversify their wardrobe with blue, brown or gray tones. Manufacturers pamper boys with images of cars, airplanes, robots, monsters and balls.

Material

Finnish manufacturers pay special attention to fabrics and other materials from which winter overalls are sewn.

Both regular and membrane fabrics can be used as external material.

In any case, high-quality fabrics are used that are highly resistant to abrasion, tension and tearing. They tend to "breathe" and provide excellent protection against frost, wind and moisture.

In addition, the upper fabric is treated by manufacturers with a special compound that does not allow dirt to be absorbed into the product. Thanks to this, Finnish winter overalls can be washed quite rarely, only a couple of times per season.

In order to avoid damage to the structure of the outer fabric and the protective coating applied during the production, ordinary washing powders cannot be used; manufacturers recommend only special detergents. Light dirt can be removed with a damp sponge or running warm water.

Winter overalls made in Finland are sewn with or without inner fleece insulation. In the second case, you will have to separately purchase a fleece or fine wool underwear. For some overalls, manufacturers offer to purchase special liners fastened with zippers or buttons. The principle of layering when drawing up a winter outfit will prevent a child from freezing in frost.

Insulation in Finnish winter overalls is lightweight and hypoallergenic:

  • thinsulate;
  • holofiber;
  • thermophile;
  • waltherm;
  • isosoft.

Thanks to the finest fibers in their structure, they allow you to keep maximum heat inside the overalls. The product, insulated with a modern filler, dries quickly and does not deform during washing or active wear. All heaters used for sewing overalls are certified according to the strictest European standards and are recommended for the production of safe children's clothing.

The maximum amount of artificial insulation in Finnish winter overalls is 300-350 grams, the minimum is 200. Insulation with a density of 280-350 grams is suitable for our northern winters, and insulation with a lower density can be recommended only for outdoor activities at temperatures around zero. Finnish winter overalls with the maximum amount of insulation can withstand frosts down to -25-30 degrees.

Natural fluff is often used as insulation. Down jumpsuits have their pros and cons. Of course, natural filler is more environmentally friendly, but despite this, duck down is not heat-resistant enough for severe frosts, and goose down, on the contrary, is too hot, especially for mobile children. In addition, dust mites, dangerous for allergy sufferers, can start in natural insulation, it strongly absorbs moisture and dries for a long time.

Brands

The most famous and popular Finnish brands in Russia that produce children's clothing are Reima, Lassie by Reima, Huppa, Kerry, Remu, Lappi Kids and Reike.

And although the prices for them are slightly higher than for similar analogues made in Russia, China, Poland or Belarus, it is worth remembering that Finnish winter overalls are a good investment in a quality product, a sense of security and a great mood!
