A cat's health largely depends on its nutrition. A daily diet consisting of low quality canned food leads to diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, food should be chosen not only in accordance with the age and condition (sterilized / not) of the pet. One of the high, premium, as the manufacturer claims, quality feed is Royal Farm.

Advantages and disadvantages

Royal Farm Spanish food for cats contains a balanced amount of vitamins and minerals necessary for the proper functioning of the stomach (vitamins A, D3, E, C, iodine). In addition, the composition contains sodium chloride - a sodium salt that binds calcium in saliva and prevents plaque on the teeth.

Pros of Royal Farm feed:

  • it consists mainly of meat - the main source of protein (chicken, turkey, rabbit, veal);

  • balanced content of vitamins and minerals (depending on the age of the cat, their amount changes);

  • natural antioxidants (extracts rich in vitamin E);

  • chicken oil and fish oil as a source of saturated fatty acids;

  • variety of food in accordance with age (from kitten to adult cat) categories and characteristics of the body (sterilization, stomach sensitivity);

  • use of Human Grade products (that is, all products are manufactured to the same standards as human food is produced).

These ingredients keep your cat feeling full for a long time. With this composition, it is permissible to feed the pet 2-3 times a day.

Disadvantages of feed:

  • The only source of plant-based protein is corn gluten - there are no other options;

  • the predominant carbohydrate source is corn;

  • the sale of feed is carried out only in the Beethoven store.

An individual reaction of the animal to the components is possible.The new feed should be introduced gradually, mixing with the old one. For any manifestation of an allergic reaction, you should contact your veterinarian.

Dry food overview

The manufacturer offers various variations of dry cat food.

For adults (Adult; chicken)

Royal Farm food for adult cats (1-7 years old) contains 35% chicken meat, which is the main source of protein. The manufacturer claims that with the content of a single protein in the feed, the risk of an allergic reaction and indigestion in the animal is reduced (although veterinarians do not advise giving their pets - both cats and dogs - chicken, since it is an allergen in itself). Balanced content of split carbohydrates (rice, corn, potatoes). As stated, Royal Farm foods are formulated with sodium polyphosphate to help prevent plaque and dental calculus. Chicken and fish oils contribute to long-term saturation of the body.

The food is made according to the technology FMIS (Fresh Meat Injection System). The technology differs in that during the production of feed pellets fresh minced meat is added to them. Thanks to this, all vitamins and nutrients retain their properties.

The food is suitable for daily feeding. The Beethoven website contains a table showing the weight of the cat and the amount of food in grams that it should eat.

For example, if a cat weighs 4 kg, its daily feed requirement is 54 grams.

Sterilized (Adult; turkey)

This feed also contains only one protein - turkey for better absorption and reduce the likelihood of allergies. The food is distinguished by the formula "prevention of urolithiasis": a low content of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium allows for successful prevention of the development of urolithiasis and reducing the risk of its occurrence.

In such a food, the reduction in fat content allows the cat to control the weight of the cat.

The composition contains new ingredients: inulin - fructooligosaccharide, which helps to improve digestion and restore digestive microflora; mannan oligosaccharides - support the functions of the immune system and improve the general condition of the animal; L-Carnitine - Maintains weight within the normal range for a cat.

Adult (Senior; chicken)

Royal Farm food for senior cats (age 7+) differs from Royal Farm Adult in that it contains a high content of antioxidants (natural extracts rich in vitamin E), which slow down the aging process and give the animal strength for an active lifestyle. Otherwise, the composition (chicken 35%, chicken and fish oil, sodium chloride), and the cooking technology are the same.

In the preparation of Royal Farm products, a plant from the agave family is used - Yucca Shidigera. It can reduce the odor of animal droppings by killing bacteria and promoting normal stomach function.

The seniors contain inulin, L-carnitine, licorice root extract (since the digestive system is no longer so powerful).

To remove wool (Adult; chicken)

Royal Farm hatchery feed is formulated with licorice root and a high fiber content that allows you to remove wool from the gastrointestinal tract.

If the cat suffers from cardiovascular diseases, active work of the thyroid gland, hypertension or renal failure, then the process of cleansing the stomach from wool lumps is complicated.

Proper nutrition and constant grooming of the coat (not only long but also short) will help her to cope with these difficult moments more easily.

Royal Farm does not offer dry food for kittens.

Variety of wet products

Royal Farm Wet Food is only sold in 85 gram sachets (not cans). The choice of flavors is standard:

  • rabbit;

  • duck;

  • Turkey;

  • beef;

  • hen.

Wet food, like dry food, is available for sterilized and unsterilized cats of different age categories (including kittens).

Here are some examples of products.

Food for kittens with a rabbit

Products for kittens (up to 1 year old) already contain 40% of meat components. The presence of vitamins and minerals allows the kitten to develop healthy, without discomfort in the stomach.

If you look at the composition, you cannot say that there is something special there. Or, more precisely, nothing special - such measures were applied not to reduce the cost of goods, but so that the kitten's digestion was not overloaded with an abundant amount of new products to which he was not yet accustomed. Moreover, up to one and a half months, kittens receive all the necessary macro- and microelements from their mother's milk. In the future, they are gradually accustomed to wet food. All components help maintain the stability of the gastrointestinal tract.

According to the table on the Beethoven website, it can be seen that the older the kitten gets, the more spiders it needs (bags with important food). The norm is 3-4 spiders per day.

Sterilized (Adult; beef)

After the operation, the metabolism changes, because of which there is a risk of gaining excess weight, which subsequently provokes various diseases.

Interestingly, the wet food does not contain L-carnitine, which keeps the weight within the normal range. In general, there is no reduced level of fat, no special vitamins and ingredients that normalize the gastrointestinal tract in the product.

Adult (Senior; chicken)

Seniors are content only with chicken meat, other options among wet food are not presented. In the food for adults, the same tendency is preserved as in the sterilized ones: the product does not offer either antioxidants to slow down the aging process, or a higher content of vitamins and minerals necessary for an aging body.

Dry food wins in all respects, as it contains everything necessary for the healthy functioning of a cat's digestion.

A pet is a big responsibility. He needs careful care. And this is not only combing, grooming and petting, but also proper, balanced nutrition.
