For makeup to look good, it is important to consider many aspects of your appearance. In particular, this also applies to the shape of the eyes - it is the eyes that are most often paid attention to, so it is important for them to do any makeup very carefully: both a bright evening version and an almost imperceptible daytime one. Slanting eyes are considered especially beautiful, and with the right make-up you will achieve an incomparable effect.

What it is?

Slant eyes are a form of eye cut where the outer corner of the eye is slightly higher than the inner corner. This is a feature of the Asian type of appearance: Eastern women have strongly slanted eyes. Nevertheless, slightly raised outer corners can be observed in women of European appearance. This specific facial feature does not depend on nationality: many famous Russian and American actresses and models have slanted eyes. For example, Angelina Jolie and Natalia Vodianova are among them.

Slightly slanted eyes make the look more expressive and slightly squinted - this means that the oblique line needs to be emphasized with makeup even more. The main problem is that the eyes on a girl's face may seem a little smaller than they really are: you will need special makeup principles to make your eyes visually more open. And you will also need to take into account other features of appearance. Both blondes and brunettes have slanting eyes, and skin tone can also vary from very light to olive. As for the color of the eyes, it is very rare for gray-eyed or blue-eyed girls to have a slanting cut - more often the eyes are green or brown.

How to determine?

Determining the shape of the eyes is not difficult at all: it can often be easily done visually by looking in a mirror.Turn your head straight and take a closer look at the outer corners of your eyes - if they are slightly raised, then you should be guided by the tips for creating makeup for slanting eyes. If you can't figure out if your eyes look slanted, you should take your photo and hold a ruler against your eye - if you see that the line goes diagonally up, you have slanted eyes.

In a child, this feature may be less pronounced than in an adult, but in general, the shape of the eyes with age can change only slightly.

How to make a make-up?

Makeup for slanting eyes should accentuate the beautiful cut line.

Before deciding on a make-up option, take note of a few important tips.

  • All kinds of arrows will look good. They highlight the line along the eye and can emphasize the diagonal: such makeup often looks very playful and flirty, and the look turns out to be mysterious. To emphasize the bend, makeup artists recommend making long arrows and leading them up. Brighter arrows can be drawn for evening makeup, and thinner ones for daytime. If you want your gaze to be more open, you should start leading the arrow not from the inner corner, but from the middle of the century - while it is important to draw neatly starting from a very thin line and gradually expanding it.
  • To make your eyes bigger, it is worth using mascara: the rules for applying it will depend not only on the shape of the eyes, but also on the characteristics of your eyelashes. For rare eyelashes, you need a thick mascara with a thickening effect in any natural color, and if the eyelashes are thick, but short, it is important to especially carefully paint over them to the very ends. All owners of slanting eyes are also advised to choose a brush with a curling effect: your eyelashes should form an elastic arc that will emphasize the shape. Be sure to carefully paint over with mascara and the lower eyelashes: this way your eyes will be especially large.
  • The choice of a color palette of shadows should depend primarily on the color of your eyes - you do not need to select shades that match it: this can make your eyes appear dull. On the contrary, you should choose options that contrast with your natural color - this way you can further emphasize the look. As for the application of shadows, there are many possible options for slanting eyes, which give a different effect: you can change the makeup every day and look different all the time. It is worth avoiding unless too dark tones on the inside, and you also do not need to unnecessarily accentuate the lower eyelid.

Makeup usually focuses on either the eyes or the lips. Women who have slanting eyes often decide to paint them. The greatest difficulties are often presented by daytime makeup: it should be light, restrained and almost invisible, but at the same time emphasize the dignity of the face.

Check out the step-by-step instructions for daytime makeup for slanting eyes.

    • First of all, you need to apply a fairly light tone to the upper eyelid. For these purposes, choose pastel shades - light beige, milky, pinkish or yellowish. Pay attention to your natural skin color: the shadows should be only a couple of tones lighter, they do not need to be strongly contrasting or completely merged. The tone should be applied exclusively to the protruding part of the upper eyelid, covering the eye socket.
    • Then you should take the eyeshadow a couple of tones darker than your own skin tone. They are applied around the protruding part of the eyelid starting from the middle. The color should depend on the shade of your eyes, although most often options in a brownish or olive palette are chosen: gray-eyed ones go with warm shades, and girls with green and brown eyes should choose cold options. It is especially worth applying dark shadows on the outside of the eye, and movements in this direction can be wider.Make sure you blend the shadows generously on all sides.
    • Next, you should paint up the area under the eyebrows with white shadows to further highlight them. For these purposes, within the framework of the daytime makeup option, matte shades are often taken. After application, the tone should also be thoroughly shaded.
    • You need to paint the inner corner with the same white shadows. So the look will visually be more wide open and open.
    • Now take a dark brown or black liner, pencil or eyeliner. Almost any arrows are suitable for owners of slanting eyes, but in everyday make-up they should not be too bright and defiant. Start to draw a thin arrow slightly away from the inner corner and gradually thicken it towards the outer. You can extend the arrow slightly and draw it in an arc.
    • The final stage of daytime makeup is the application of mascara. It is better to take regular black mascara, as well as a brush with the effect of curling and separating the eyelashes. Apply the mascara evenly to the upper and lower lashes, especially carefully painting over the ends. When applying to the upper lashes, press the brush lightly from the middle to lock the lashes in a raised position.

If you are thinking about evening make-up for slanting eyes, a make-up with a smoky ice effect can look great. Its feature is a bright highlight of the eyes with dark shadows and strong shading of the contours. As part of a casual look, such a bright option will be superfluous, but if you choose a make-up for some special event, party or celebration, this is a great option.

Consider how a similar makeup is done for the evening.

      • False or extended eyelashes look very good - with them the look will be even more expressive and attractive. If you want to increase the volume of your natural lashes, all these procedures must be done before applying makeup.
      • Start with a lighter shade to cover the protruding part of the upper eyelid. Usually smokey ice is made in cold colors, so whitish, light gray or bluish shades are better suited. That said, if you have gray eyes, look for a similar palette in warm colors.
      • Take dark gray shadows and outline the protruding part of the upper eyelid along the contours, making the line wider towards the outer corner of the eye. Blend the dark shadows in such a way that they cover the outer half of the eyelid, and gradually fade towards the middle and merge with the light tone.
      • Blend from the outer corner of the eye to the outer tip of the brow: dark shadows should gently outline this line.
      • Add light accents: with white shadows, this should be done right under the eyebrow, starting from the middle to the outer tip. This will contrast with the darker shadows, and will also make the brows stand out, sharpened and visually lifted. And also apply white eyeshadow near the inner corner of the eye. If you want to shine especially at an evening event, choose an eyeshadow with a subtle sheen.
      • Now it's worth taking up the arrows. For this type of makeup, they are most often carried out with a soft pencil - it lends itself well to shading in the future. Start a thin arrow from almost the innermost corner of the eye along the upper eyelid, but make the line thin. Thicken it as you approach the middle of the century - it is in this place that an accent should be made so that the eye seems more wide open, and the look is expressive and open. You need to extend the arrow behind the outer corner of the eye and slightly round it so that it goes around the protruding part of the eyelid and merges with the dark shadows on the contours.
      • Slightly blend the shadows at the junction with the arrow using a sponge for a soft transition.
      • Now you need to start makeup on the lower eyelid. Draw an arrow with a black pencil from the outer corner of the eye to the middle, gradually making the line thinner. It is not necessary to accentuate the lower eyelid from the side of the bridge of the nose.
      • Then add some dark shadows at the bottom of the outer corner so that the arrow isn't too sharp.
      • Apply the mascara to lashes by curling and pressing lightly with the brush to lock in the frizz. For more effect, you can apply mascara several times in a row, and your evening makeup is ready.

For slanted eyes, other more traditional makeup options for the evening are also suitable.that do not imply strong shading. For example, you can use eyeliner for crisp lines and bright colored shadows. Such makeup is easier to do, since it, in fact, repeats the daytime one in terms of execution technique - except that brighter shades are used, and shadows and mascara are applied in a denser layer.
