Among the many seafood that bring great benefits to humans, not the last place is occupied by kelp - brown algae, also called seaweed. It is not only eaten, but also successfully used in cosmetology as a means that gives an excellent appearance to the skin of the face and neck. The ways of using this product deserve attention, the variety of which allows you to find a solution for any type of dermis from unpretentious to having more complex specifics.

Efficiency

At first, doctors recommended kelp as a means of promoting the active resorption of subcutaneous fat. Over time, the list of advantages of the described algae has significantly expanded largely due to the proven benefits that it brings to the delicate skin of the face. For this, kelp began to be called "sea ginseng" - a product that can solve a variety of cosmetic problems.

First of all, seaweed should be used for those who have the following dermatological problems:

  • wrinkles resulting from loss of skin elasticity and other reasons;
  • dryness and flaking;
  • excessive sensitivity, the manifestations of which are frequent irritation;
  • age spots, including age spots;
  • increased activity of the sebaceous glands;
  • the presence of chronic scars.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the versatility of the product in question: in particular, it gives a matte finish to oily skin, and effectively moisturizes dry skin. In addition, seaweed relieves puffiness, has a tonic effect on integuments and restores their former elasticity.

As for the components of kelp, which make its use as effective as possible, iodine stands out first of all among them. This element not only eliminates inflammation, but also makes the skin more pleasant to the touch - returning it smoothness and velvety. Other ingredients of seaweed that can boast equally beneficial properties are listed below.

  • Vitamins A, D and group B. They restore the skin to its natural tone, reduce pigmentation and promote tissue rejuvenation.
  • Vitamin C. Being one of the best antioxidants, it slows down oxidation processes, making it one of the best fighters against premature aging.
  • Vitamin E. Visibly accelerates cell regeneration, smoothes wrinkles and prevents the appearance of acne.
  • A nicotinic acid. Moisturizes skin, dilates pores, stimulates blood circulation and removes excess water from tissues.

    It is worth highlighting the micro and macro elements contained in kelp.

    • Potassium. Avoids drying out of the dermis.
    • Calcium. Evens out roughness and eliminates puffiness.
    • Iron. Cleans pores, oxygenates tissues and speeds up their regeneration.
    • Zinc. Effectively fights acne. Prevents the development of pathogenic microflora.
    • Copper. Participates in the supply of nutrients to cells and prolongs their youth.
    • Silicon. Moisturizes the skin and restores its lost elasticity.

    Despite the proven versatility of seaweed, women of post-balzac age can achieve the greatest effect from its use. This is due to the ability of kelp to slow down the aging process, which begins to manifest itself from 35-40 years.

    Contraindications

    Experience shows that the use of kelp as a means for the skin of the face and neck is completely safe in the vast majority of cases. If we name one of the main reasons for the inadmissibility of using this algae, then this is an increased sensitivity to it on the part of the body. To negate the likelihood of developing an allergic reaction, it is enough to do a simple sensitivity test by applying a small amount of the prepared product to the skin of the wrist. The absence of burning, redness and other negative manifestations after 15-20 minutes allows you to use kelp without any fear.

    But also seaweed is contraindicated in the presence of certain pathologies.

    • Hyperfunction and other disorders of the thyroid gland. If the existing deviations are not clearly expressed, it is necessary to consult an endocrinologist before using kelp.
    • Severe inflammation of the face and neck. Considering that seaweed stimulates blood circulation, it can contribute to the spread of processes that are hazardous to health.
    • Rash of unexplained etiology. Before using kelp to get rid of a disturbing ailment, you should accurately find out its specifics in order to avoid unpredictable consequences.
    • Couperose. The described brown algae improves the supply of blood to tissues, and therefore makes the overgrown vascular network more pronounced.
    • Hidden surplus of trace elements and salts. Many people live in areas with too hard water and other features that noticeably shift the mineral balance. The presence of this deviation can lead to a negative reaction of the body to one or another component of seaweed.

    In addition, it is advisable to refuse cosmetic procedures using kelp during pregnancy and lactation. This is due to the content of vitamin C and iodine in seaweed, which are very beneficial and safe for the mother, but have a high concentration for the fetus or baby.

    How to use

    Today, cosmetics manufacturers offer a huge number of products that include the extract of the brown algae in question.They are very effective, but they are quite expensive, which is why not everyone can use them regularly. Home-made masks are an optimal alternative to such products: by betting on their use, you can not only restore health and beauty to your skin, but also fit into the budget allocated to achieve this goal.

    To prepare cosmetics based on seaweed, it is most rational to use its powder - homogeneous, and therefore easily applied to the face and neck. Dried thalli are also fine, but they should also be thoroughly crushed before using as part of a mask. It is advisable to purchase kelp in pharmacies or cosmetology centers - institutions that can guarantee the high quality of the product and natural origin.

    Before applying the mask to the selected areas, it is necessary to thoroughly steam them. And also experts advise to clean the skin with a scrub in order to achieve the maximum effect from the used seafood. Kelp for facial skin is used only wet - most often as part of a mask, the classic recipe for which is presented below.

    • Take 15 g of powdered seaweed. This amount is enough for one procedure.
    • Pour 200-250 ml of slightly warmed water over the seaweed. The use of boiling water is unacceptable, as it "welds" the useful components of kelp, greatly reducing the effectiveness of their use.
    • Insist the seaweed in water for 90-120 minutes. This time is enough for the crushed algae to swell well.
    • Drain off the water using cheesecloth and squeeze out the kelp thoroughly.

    After successfully completing the above steps, the seaweed mask is ready for use. It should be applied while lying down to avoid slipping - a nuisance that is caused by the slippery texture of this algae. This mask is justified to use on any, even the most sensitive areas - in particular, around the eyes. As for the duration of the described procedure, it is ¼ hour: it is not worth keeping the mask longer, since during the specified time the skin will receive all the components it needs. At the end, the kelp remains to be washed off with cool water, and lubricate the treated integument with a nourishing cream.

      To achieve excellent skin condition, seaweed masks should be done regularly, but relatively rarely - no more than once a week. It is strongly discouraged to carry out the procedure more often in order to avoid stains and other negative manifestations arising from an excess of nutrients.

      In addition to the technique described above, the infusion of kelp can be used differently. - pouring into a special container and leaving in the freezer for about a day. It is advisable to apply the obtained ice in the morning, rubbing the skin of the face and neck with cold cubes. After 6-7 minutes, it remains to rinse the treated covers with clean water at room temperature.

      Depending on the specifics of the skin, laminar masks can have their own characteristics.

      Seaweed will be most effective in mixes prepared according to specific recipes.

      • For wrinkles and acne. The peeled aloe leaf must be crushed to a mushy state and mixed with seaweed powder. Then it remains to wait about 2 hours - until the volume of the mask doubles. After that, the mixture is applied to dry skin.
      • Tightening. Take one medium-sized apple and grind it in puree (experts recommend choosing green varieties). At the end of this action, it remains to add kelp and mix everything thoroughly.
      • Rejuvenating with whitening effect. First you need to make a gruel from two ingredients - seaweed and protein. Having created such a mixture, it is necessary to add the juice squeezed from a large lemon wedge to it.

        For owners of dry skin, it is most rational to use the masks described below.

        • For a tightening. In a mixture of seaweed and 1.5-2 tbsp. l. sour cream, add 5 ml of quality olive oil. Further, in the resulting composition, it remains to stir 20 ml of honey, previously melted in a water bath.
        • From superficial wrinkles. First, kelp cooked in mineral water should be mixed with 1.5-2 tbsp. l. kefir, and then add about 25 g of clay. To give the skin elasticity, it is advisable to supplement the mask with a few drops of sage oil.
        • For rejuvenation. The seaweed should be mixed with a couple of quail eggs until an even consistency is obtained. Then it remains to add 30 drops of glycerin, and thoroughly mix the resulting mass.

        Separately, it is worth mentioning the kelp mask, which is primarily intended for the skin around the eyes. To prepare it, you need seaweed, stirred in clean, slightly warmed up water, to which 4 drops of liquid honey and the same amount of sesame oil are added. It is advisable to apply this mask with a brush, after closing your eyes. At the end of the procedure, the remnants of the useful mixture must be carefully removed using moistened cotton wool.

        Having familiarized yourself with various opinions about kelp, we can state that this product enjoys not only impressive, but also fully deserved popularity. First of all, this alga is appreciated for its versatility, which allows you to effectively cope with a variety of skin problems. Especially often the fair sex notes that seaweed:

        • is one of the best remedies for removing wrinkles on the face and neck;
        • quickly and permanently refreshes the skin;
        • allows you to prepare masks without any difficulty;
        • when frozen, it is great as a tonic;
        • allows you to achieve noticeable results after the first application (not always, but quite often);
        • quickly restores elasticity to the skin, often surpassing expensive factory cosmetics.

          Another obvious advantage of the product in question is its affordable price. But also some women say that after six months of using laminar masks, the skin looks 10-15 years younger.

          There is only one perceptible minus in seaweed. Many ladies are not satisfied with the fact that the effect of masks with kelp is cumulative - requiring patience to achieve the desired result. Violating the recommendations of specialists, they carry out procedures more often than once a week, and therefore often face the appearance of spots on the skin and other troubles.

          Thus, it is enough just to follow the rules mentioned in this material, entrusting your skin to one of the best seafood. This allows not only to return her beauty and health, but also to avoid problems on the way to the cherished goal.
