How to properly care for your hands?
For a real woman, taking care of her body is necessary. The representatives of the beautiful half of humanity are especially careful in caring for the delicate and sensitive skin of the hands.
Fundamental rules
None of us would like to be given age by hand, and it is this part of the body that is primarily susceptible to aging. The fact is that the skin of the hands is especially dry and vulnerable, since there is little water and sebaceous glands in it, so cracks and wrinkles on the hands are an urgent problem for all girls and women.
In addition, our hands are affected by the constant cleaning of the house and washing dishes with the use of rather aggressive cleaning agents. And even if they are marked "with balm" or "reliably protects the skin of the hands", you shouldn't really believe such advertising moves. Such daily "chemistry" has a negative effect on delicate ladies' hands.
And the impact of weather conditions and the constant impact of the external environment (from the scorching sun to strong wind and frost) has not been canceled. From this, the skin of the hands usually cracks, becomes dry and causes a lot of trouble for its owner. That is why the care of hands, fingers and palms must be daily and correct in order to preserve their health and beauty for many years.
Remember that without reliable protection, hands can "attack" various skin diseases and dermatitis. And since the main goal of such care is to form a protective layer so that moisture does not evaporate from the surface, it means that, along with the use of cosmetics and creams, it is worth drinking a lot of water, which will be an additional factor in moisturizing the skin.
Stages
Hand care is a whole system of cosmetic procedures, which can be divided into several main stages:
- cleansing;
- exfoliation;
- massage;
- hydration, nutrition and protection;
- regular masks;
- cuticle and nail care.
Unfortunately, such an important stage of hand care as cleansing, many women skip and do not give it enough attention. But in vain, because before applying the nourishing cream to the face, we first get rid of the remnants of cosmetics and other contaminants, so it would be logical to use this rule for hands as well.
Dry hands are often the result of improperly selected soap or gel, so pay attention to the composition of the cleanser, preferring natural ingredients from plant extracts. After washing, you should dry your hands, and then apply a nourishing cream. And in order to carry out the cleansing procedure even where there is no water and soap at hand, take care of a compact antibacterial gel, which should become a regular in a handbag. Although experts still recommend using intensive antibacterial agents to a minimum, as they dry out the skin of the hands.
The exfoliation procedure is needed to remove old cells of the epidermis and activate skin renewal. - this is how she will look young no matter how old you are. To exfoliate you will need a special scrub or peeling, which can be bought both in a cosmetics store and made with your own hands from "improvised" means - for example, sugar, oatmeal or coffee grounds with the addition of any vegetable oil.
Massage is also one of the important components of care. At the same time, it is not at all necessary to run to the salon, you can regularly carry out self-massage procedures at home - this is both pleasant and not so expensive. A good massage of the skin of the hands, palms and fingers can significantly improve blood flow, relieve tension from tired muscles and relax.
Among the options for home self-massage, we note the following:
- pressing, rubbing and kneading fingers and hands;
- kneading your palms with auxiliary items such as a small ball or natural stones;
- acupressure of the hands "shiatsu", which affects the state of all body systems.
And finally, after all the procedures carried out, it was the turn to nourish the skin of the hands with cream. Its use is also necessary for moisturizing and protecting the skin of the hands from negative external influences. To prepare a hand cream homemade remedy, you will need a tablespoon of a crushed mixture of chamomile, marigold, plantain and string. Pour the herbs with a glass of boiling water and insist overnight. In the morning we filter the infusion and use the following proportions: to 1 tsp. infusion add 50 g of butter and 1 tsp. honey, thoroughly mixing everything until smooth. If you have glycerin in your home, add cream and a few drops of lemon to it for another miracle hand remedy. And for the purpose of disinfecting the skin and healing wounds, choose cosmetics based on chamomile.
Having tidied up the skin, do not forget about the nails., since they, like the hairstyle, are the hallmark of a woman, and simply must look well-groomed and neat. The nails should be filed regularly, the cuticles should be trimmed, and the skin around them should be moisturized. A do-it-yourself manicure or gel nail extension in the salon is a personal choice of each lady, depending on her financial capabilities and ideas about ideal beauty.
Salon procedures
In addition to home hand care, it will sometimes be useful to visit professional salons, since now there are many interesting and effective salon care procedures that will enrich the skin of the hands with vitamins, nutrients and noticeably rejuvenate it. It will be especially important to set aside time to visit the salon in winter, when the skin suffers greatly from negative natural influences.
The most popular cosmetic hand treatment is paraffin therapy., which, by the way, was used in ancient Rome.And in the Soviet era, this technique was often used to regenerate muscle and skin tone after sports injuries. Now this procedure brings not only purely practical benefits of hand care, but also gives extraordinary relaxation to the whole body, since the nerve endings on our palms affect all organs of the body.
Toning paraffin therapy is performed using molten paraffin. It envelops the hands, hardens and creates a kind of glove, under which the effect of a sauna is created. Therefore, the skin first releases moisture, which is saturated with oxygen, and then returns to the cells of the epidermis.
This procedure is especially recommended for those with very dry or chapped hands.
An effective and popular salon procedure is hand massage. It is logical that it will be more effective and efficient when it is carried out with two hands at once and with the help of a specialist in their field. The massage activates all points and cells and improves blood circulation.
Chocolate wrap for hands is a healthy, aromatic and delicious procedure. In addition to regenerating and nourishing cells, the skin will acquire an even tone, and age spots and redness will gradually disappear. In addition, thanks to chocolate, as you know, the production of "pleasure hormones" occurs, which means that you will be provided with an excellent mood after going to the beauty salon.
Alginate wraps and masks are seaweed wraps that relieve inflammation, activate blood circulation and stimulate oxygen supply.
Algae masks and wraps will restore damaged skin in a very short time, and make your hands soft and velvety.
Recipes
To keep your skin looking youthful and youthful, try treating it with a DIY exfoliation. This highly effective cosmetic removes old cells from the skin, giving space to the young. An affordable and simple option is sugar peeling. To do this, add 1 tsp. granulated sugar in the palm of your hand, add 1 tsp. olive oil or other vegetable oil, stir the ingredients and rub the exfoliation into your hands in a circular motion.
Automatically you will get a cuticle massage. A few minutes of this pleasant procedure is enough, after which the peeling is washed off, and the hand is gently cleaned with a napkin without the use of water or soap, so that the olive oil nourishes the skin. Believe me, after such a procedure, the skin surface becomes simply silky to the touch. If desired, you can use sea salt or crushed oatmeal as part of such a natural and completely safe exfoliator.
A scrub from oatmeal is done simply - they are boiled with boiling water, and when the mixture cools down, the skin of the hands is massaged with it. This light and gentle scrub can be used every day without fear of harming the top layer of the skin.
If you are a coffee junkie, then do not throw away the grounds, but make a useful hand scrub out of it. It needs to be mixed with natural oil (such as olive, apricot, or regular sunflower oil). Since this scrub is very intense, it will be sufficient to apply it a couple of times a week.
And if you want to whiten your hands or get rid of obsessive freckles, you can add ingredients such as cream, sour cream or lemon juice to any of the scrubs.
If you don't trust store-bought SPA products, it's time to take care of your hand cosmetics yourself. The moisturizing mask includes 1 tsp. honey, 1 tsp. fat sour cream and 0.5 tsp. turmeric. It is enough to apply this composition with light massaging movements and hold on hands for 10 minutes, then rinse with water. Due to the action of turmeric, the skin of the hands receives additional nutrition and recovery. The only drawback of the mask is that due to the rich pigment it will paint the hands and nails yellow for a short time, so carry out this procedure before going to bed.
In winter, the following mask will be the "first aid" for the skin of the hands. Lemon zest should be mixed with 2 tbsp. l.fat cottage cheese, 1 tsp. infusions of green tea and 1 tsp. olive oil. And if for half an hour, during which the mask is absorbed, you cannot sit around, just put on rubber gloves.
A delicious and nutritious banana mask available to everyone. To prepare it, take 1 banana and 1 tsp. any vegetable oil. Banana porridge with butter must be warmed up and applied warmly to the hands. After cooling completely, the mixture is washed off with warm water, and your hands will become much softer in a matter of minutes.
In order not to leave all your money in beauty salons, learn how to make easy-to-use hand baths. They not only moisturize and nourish the skin, but also give a soothing and wound healing effect. They can be with sea salt, natural herbs (for example, chamomile, St. John's wort) or medicinal mud.
You can also make a chamomile beer bath. For this, freshly picked flowers are added to warm beer, hands are placed there for 10 minutes. Chamomile disinfects wounds and removes inflammation, while beer softens the skin. Other useful trays with herbal ingredients include mint, linden, linseed, oak, rosehip or St. John's wort. The herbs are poured with boiling water and infused for 5-10 minutes. Each bath lasts half an hour, and after that, a cream is applied to the hands. Such procedures are carried out every day for 1-2 weeks.
Every woman's home arsenal should also have all kinds of oils. It will be enough to put a suitable oil on your hands, add a few drops of vitamins A or E here, and put on cotton gloves. Warm compresses will only enhance the effect of any oil. For them, you can take 3 parts of oil and 1 part of honey, heating the mixture in a water bath until warm. The mixture is applied to the skin of the hands and covered with gauze or cloth for half an hour.
For those who have sensitive skin and are prone to allergic reactions, we recommend using a baby cream or a cream of your own preparation. To do this, you will need baby body lotion, vitamin E capsules, and petroleum jelly. The components are mixed with a whisk until smooth.
Advice
- Wash your hands with water at room temperature, as water that is too cold will peel them. And to prevent burrs, dry your hands thoroughly and do not leave moisture on them.
- When doing household chores using any cleaning product, be sure to use gloves. Modern chemistry is very aggressive - if it can remove rust, then even a layer of skin.
- It often happens that allergic reactions to a new cosmetic product occur. Since women use powders every day, due to the cumulative effect, the effect of the product on the hands can be irreparable. If you didn't have gloves at hand or you simply forgot to put them on, use a simple tool that will help restore the PH-balance of the skin of your hands: smear them with a mixture of sour milk (1 tablespoon) and apple cider vinegar (2 tablespoons).
- In winter and autumn, do not neglect mittens and gloves - cold and wind can make a dried desert out of the skin of your hands. And at home, use a humidifier whenever possible, as steam heating dries it indoors.
- Do not drain the water in which the potatoes were boiled. Its warm infusion will perfectly cope with the role of a nourishing hand bath.
- If you have milk whey left over from cottage cheese, use it as an effective remedy for removing age spots on your skin.
- A mixture of equal parts glycerin and lemon will help keep your hands soft to the touch and velvety in appearance.
- After washing your hands, rub them with fresh cucumber, which is a great skin toner.
- In the spring and summer, be sure to protect your hands from aggressive UV radiation by using sprays or creams with the maximum degree of protection.
- Another little secret - use, if possible, a regular baby cream to soften the skin of the hands.It contains a minimum of harmful additives, and more than enough benefits.
- Nails and cuticles also need hydration, so in combination with hand cream, purchase a special cuticle cleaner or use capsules with vitamin E.
- Take vitamins and drink plenty of water to prevent collagen fiber breakdown and premature aging. To keep the skin healthy, beautiful, hydrated and with a minimum of wrinkles, you should also eat right and eat a lot of fruits. This will not only improve the condition of the skin, but also raise immunity and protect against all kinds of diseases.
- When buying a hand cream, be sure to pay attention to its composition. It should not contain silicones, artificial colors, parabens, petroleum products and other "nasty things" that can negatively affect the health of the skin and often provoke allergic reactions.
- In winter, it is worth applying the nourishing cream as often as possible - at least 3 times a day. Moreover, if in the summer we apply a moisturizer during the day, and a nutritious one before bedtime, then in cold weather everything happens exactly the opposite. The intense nourishment and oily texture of the cream will be needed during the day when you go out into the cold.
- If in hot weather you are worried about a problem such as sweating of the hands, it is enough to apply a solution of salicylic acid with alcohol in the composition to the skin.
- If the skin of your hands is too dry and begins to peel off, choose creams containing almond oil, aloe, avocado, shea, jojoba. And for reddened and inflamed skin of the hands, the soothing properties of lavender or tea tree oil in the cream will help.
To make your hands look well-groomed at any age, experts recommend starting to do special procedures from the age of 25 - for example, massage and special masks. At 40 years old, you can increase the frequency of visits to a professional salon up to 2 times a month, and after 50 years - if possible once a week.
