Let's wave to the Crimea in the summer! How many wonderful, memorable, fascinating journeys began with this call. A budget vacation, a route that does not need special advertising, the opportunity to have a good, modern rest in a Russian-speaking environment - this is a very popular request. Crimea is ready to welcome guests all year round, but, of course, having the opportunity to visit the peninsula in the summer, it is foolish to refuse it.

Climate features

Summer months in Crimea is an opportunity to plan your vacation to the smallest detail, paying attention to any of its components. Whether it's a “lazy” beach vacation, trekking, visiting outstanding architectural monuments and museums, or traveling to the Grand Canyon, everything will have the weather in Crimea in summer.

The main epithets that can be used to describe the Crimean summer are as follows: dry, windless, hot. But nevertheless, the peninsula is a rather large territory so that the weather on it does not vary somewhat.

Crimea is climatically different in the steppe, foothills and on the southern coast.

  • Steppe part. It is the driest with little rainfall. But because of the frequent gusty winds, the swimming season in the sea here ends earlier. The average temperature (depending on the month) ranges from +24 to +30 degrees Celsius. The sea in this region is shallower, and therefore it warms up faster: due to the most "favorable" average water temperature, a huge number of tourists come to this part of the peninsula.
  • Foothills... This area is as cool as possible. The temperature here rarely rises above +25 degrees, the maximum temperature indicators of the water will be the same.
  • South coast. For recreation, this peninsular territory is considered, according to all data, the most comfortable. And walks, and swimming, and sunburn - the climate of the southern coast contributes to everything. The average temperature will be around +27 degrees. But the stuffiness and aridity, as in the steppe part, will be less. The water in the sea warms up to +24 degrees, it cools down for a long time - you can actually swim until November.

However, the charm of the Crimean climate can spoil a little upwelling (the rise of deep waters). It is during the summer months that a heated mass of water can be displaced by cold currents. Because of this, the sea will cool down sharply to +15, or even to +10 degrees. This phenomenon is most often observed on the southern coast.

Monthly weather in Crimea can also vary.

  • June. Summer here begins in May, which means that in June it will finally enter into law. The weather is as comfortable as possible for vacationers. The ubiquitous greenery and floral aromas create the desired flavor associated with carefree relaxation. It's not stuffy yet, the scorching sun will appear later, therefore, if you are going on a family vacation, you will not find a better time. If you can't stand the heat, but you want to rest in Crimea, go in June. At the beginning of the month, the mark on the thermometer will be around +25 degrees, by the end of June it will rise to +30. Night walks will keep you warm.

The warmest areas for swimming this month are in Sevastopol, Saki, Evpatoria.

  • July. This month, the peninsula is getting really hot. By the middle of summer, the temperature mark will already be above +35 degrees. The weather is almost calm, which is not very good: the risks of sun and heat strokes increase. Therefore, the safety measures that protect from such an active sun, vacationers must observe impeccably. You will have to swim more often in the morning and in the evening, as well as for a walk: during the day, such outings are difficult to endure. But neither the high humidity, nor the heat, nor the calmness, it seems, does not frighten tourists at all. It is difficult to find a free seat on the beach even during this period.

The warmest sea in July is in Kerch and Feodosia. At night, the water temperature is about +22 degrees, so bathing under the stars is quite common in Crimea.

  • August. And this is the hottest Crimean month. On some days, the thermometer shows the temperature for +40. And even when it gets dark and night comes to the island, the temperature drops by only a couple of degrees. The hottest resorts this season are Sevastopol and Evpatoria, in Yalta and Alushta it is a little cooler. Being in the open sun is simply dangerous, because security measures are only intensified in August. The heat begins to subside slowly only towards the end of the month. The water is very warm - up to +27 degrees.

Of course, those who do not have the opportunity to plan a vacation for June, the mildest summer month in Crimea, will be happy to escape here, albeit in hot July and August. However, if you tolerate the heat well, then the rest in July and August will not cause any criticism.

Where is the best place to rest?

There are a lot of hotels and boarding houses on the territory of the peninsula - choose according to your taste and budget, book places in advance and get a comfortable rest. But they did not rent housing in Crimea less, people still travel as "half-savages", find a house or a room, denying more expensive hotel comfort.

The choice for a tourist in which particular city to rest is rather difficult - there are many attractive places here.

Yalta

One of the sunniest resorts is located on the southern coast of Crimea. The natural beauty of this area is impressive, the cultural heritage will rip the tourist from the beach loungers - there really is something to see.

At the end of the 19th century, Yalta became a fashionable resort among aristocrats. In the century before last, there were built Livadia, Vorontsov, Massandra palaces. The mansions fit perfectly into the mountainous landscape. The famous "Bird home", a gothic castle that is over 100 years old.

But the nature of Yalta does not need to fight for the attention of a tourist, it is impressive and striking in its variety: the most famous Crimean mountain Ai-Petri is located here, the Uchan-Su waterfall is also nearby. Palm trees and cypresses, magnolias and wisterias grow here not as an exclusive, there are many of them, and they create an unforgettable image of the city.

Finally, many people want to visit on the famous Yalta Embankment. Today it is a modern resort area, where there are restaurants, cafes, and attractions - everything for a rich city rest. And some tourists to go to Yalta are tempted by the famous cable car of Yalta - a slide on which the whole city opens at a glance.

Kerch

And this is the easternmost and at the same time the most ancient city of the peninsula. There are several ancient settlements on the territory of Kerch, and it will be very interesting to see the artifacts found at their excavations in the local museum.

Kerch is a hero city, this alone suggests that history lovers who prefer to combine active tourism with beach holidays will have something to do here.

Evpatoria

Another famous resort town. Nice beaches with golden sand and shallow seabed make tourists come back here again. On the territory of the resort there are monuments of historical heritage and famous mineral springs.

Feodosia

This city has proudly carried its name since ancient times (unlike others that have lost their original names). Admirers of Aivazovsky's work consider it their duty to visit his historical homeland, for the development of which the artist did a lot. Often people come here to children's sanatoriums, the level of which is growing from year to year.

Koktebel

The water in the Koktebel Bay heats up a little earlier in summer than in other regions of the Crimea, but in the fall it is still warm for a long time for swimming. Here are relatively inexpensive rates that are in demand. spa centers. Gastronomic tours and even wine tours.

Hotels and hotels here are still very young, they were built about 15 years ago, so you can count on modern design and quality service. Here in Koktebel there is M. Voloshin Museum.

There are still many places in Crimea that will be of interest to tourists: Alupka, Balaklava, Gurzuf, Bakhchisarai, Mishor, Utes, Sudak ... It takes more than one summer to explore the cities of Crimea fully, on a large scale.

What can you see?

They go on vacation not only for the sake of swimming and a gorgeous tan, they want to see beautiful places, see sights, touch history. Finally, it attracts tourists to nature, they still do not see anything like this in their realities and latitudes, and the horizons that have opened up are worth organizing such a vacation for themselves.

Top 10 Crimean attractions.

  • "Bird home". The famous Gothic building, which can be ranked among the main visiting cards of the Crimea, was built in 1912. It stands on a steep cliff at Cape Ai-Todor, which is near Yalta. This building has a prototype - the Villa Miramare near Trieste.

Now the rock is being strengthened, since the weight of the structure leads to the destruction of the rock.

  • Ai-Petri. This is not the highest mountain on the peninsula, but the most famous, picturesque and bright one. A cable car goes to the mountain, it is known for being the longest unsupported flight in Europe. A breathtaking view of the entire southern coast of Crimea opens from the top of the mountain.
  • Marble cave. This is a karst cave located near the village of Mramornoye. Its venerable age of several million years does not stop the development of the cave - it continues to expand. This is how the young Crimean mountains are formed. There are several halls in the cave, the total length of the tourist route is one and a half kilometers.
  • Foros Church. It was built at the end of the 19th century on a rock located 400 m above sea level. The temple was built in memory of the train crash, in this catastrophe the royal family almost died.

For a long time in the post-revolutionary years there was a restaurant in the temple, only in the 70s of the last century it ceased to exist.

  • Assumption cave monastery. Another interesting place where history is intertwined with nature, and in the end creates an incredible object. For the Orthodox it is a shrine, for those interested in history - an art object. The monastery was founded according to the available data in the XIII century.

The establishment of Soviet power led to the closure of the monastery, in 1927 an earthquake occurred, which destroyed the buildings. Only in the 90s of the last century, restoration work began on this site.

  • The Grand Canyon of Crimea. This is a state reserve, you can come here by car, but more often tourists use sightseeing tours. If you are primarily interested in landscape attractions, be sure to visit this place.
  • Valley of Ghosts. This is the name of the accumulation of rocks in the Demerdzhi mountain range. There are about a hundred boulders scattered in the valley. At dawn and dusk, the stones cast shadows that mysteriously sway and intertwine - hence the somewhat frightening name.
  • Nikitsky Botanical Garden. It will take more than one hour to examine it yourself. The garden is located near Yalta; active research activities are carried out on its territory. The merit of the appearance of the garden can be attributed to Count Vorontsov, who attracted the botanist Bieberstein to the creation.
  • Palaces of Crimea - Livadiyskiy, Massandrovskiy, Vorontsovskiy. Different, unlike each other, united, perhaps, only by their scale and sophistication. You should definitely go here at least for the sake of this architectural splendor.
  • Chersonesos Tauric. This is an ancient Greek city that was founded in the 5th century BC. It is called the cradle of Christianity, because here Prince Vladimir was baptized.

Of course, there may be a dozen more items on this list that are hardly inferior to those described above in importance. It is imperative to visit the museum-panorama "Defense of Sevastopol" with children, to look at the monument to the sunken ships - it is impossible to pass by, to go to Ayu-Dag - but what about without it?

Leisure for tourists with children

First of all, the children will most likely ask to take them to the dolphinarium. There are such establishments in several cities of Crimea at once: for example, in Alushta - this is "Nemo" and "Aquarelle"... For the children, not only dolphins will perform, but also seals. Water parks and large aquariums will also not be left without the attention of children.

And in Yalta there is a well-known for the whole Crimea zoo "Skazka", animal theater "Aquatoria" and will definitely captivate kids crocodilarium. In Gurzuf is the famous camp "Artek", for 90 years, a trip here has been considered a great success. The whole family will have something to do in Evpatoria in the water park "Lukomorye", and in Pribrezhnoye there is water park "Banana Republic".

But adult excursions should not be deprived of the child: he will respond with great pleasure to a journey through the cave cities, look into local museums and palaces.

The main thing is that all family members share the adventure - together any innovations, routes are more interesting to comprehend.

Crimea is a separate world. It is unlikely that one vacation will be enough to understand all its charms, appreciate all the beauties. Beaches, sea, history, nightlife - all together create the impression of a carefree, happy holiday. They say that everyone should visit Crimea. Let's not argue!
