The color palette of kitchen sofas: what are they and how to choose?
When buying upholstered furniture, the technical side and quality are more often evaluated, and not the appearance. For many, it is an insignificant factor that does not affect anything. Furniture factories pay attention to it: the same model, but with excellent upholstery, looks different. The same thing happens with the interior: as soon as the sofa after acquisition takes its place in the kitchen, it changes beyond recognition. It depends on the color scheme whether it fits harmoniously into the kitchen space or not.
Subtleties of choice
In order not to get upset in the future and not be disappointed, There are a number of factors to consider when buying a sofa.
- The area of the room. The kitchen is not the largest room in the apartment. To make it visually wider and larger, a sofa in the kitchen is bought with light upholstery: beige, white, light brown or milky.
- Design. The advantages of a kitchen decorated in a classic style are emphasized by products of dairy, beige, light blue or coffee shades. In a high-tech interior, models in white or black look better. When the decoration and the kitchen set are made in light colors, it is appropriate to inscribe an orange, purple, bright red or burgundy product into the resulting interior solution.
- Psychological aspect. The red kitchen couch will quickly get bored if the woman is a housewife and spends most of the day preparing food. He will become boring and the rest of the household two or three months after the purchase. For obese and losing weight people, a product with orange upholstery is not suitable: it increases appetite. If family members are reluctant to eat, then it will be irreplaceable.
- Care. A sofa with light upholstery is harder to care for than a dark one. The quality of the material used determines whether it will be easy to wipe off the ketchup stain or not. The best fabric for a kitchen sofa is one that resists the aggressive effects of water, does not absorb odors and can be easily cleaned of contamination with soapy water or special household chemicals. Models upholstered with natural leather are often abandoned in favor of eco-leather products.
- Prints and patterns... An unusual interior solution is created using a couch with a coach tie, prints or patterns.
Only two nuances are taken into account: firstly, it is harder to clean them from pollution; secondly, they are more expensive than plain models.
"Sofa Styles"
Furniture factories rarely produce kitchen sofas tied to one style. They create versatile or design neutral models. This approach is preferable for buyers: they will not have any layout problems. By style, they are conventionally divided into three groups.
- Rectangular, with a body of dark or light wood... They differ in upholstery material (textiles, leather, leatherette, eco-leather) and size (tiny, medium and impressive).
- Elegant with a reference to a specific era in history.
- Stylish models for constructivism, hi-tech and futurism... They are made in the style of the modern era. They are distinguished by irregular shape, as well as emphasized geometry.
The form
According to this criterion, sofas are divided into four types.
- Angular... An interesting model for a small kitchen. It can be collapsible if additional space is required for sleeping or resting.
- Straight... The product is chosen for a large kitchen, studio or kitchen-living room. The color of the upholstery should be the same as on the chairs.
- Bay window. Such a sofa is made to order, because the size of the niche is individual in each case. In shape, it can be straight, angular, semicircular.
- Semicircular. It fits into a kitchen where there is a lot of free space. Its "highlight" is a non-standard appearance and spaciousness.
Color spectrum
Knowing the features of each color, it is easier to choose a kitchen sofa. Among them there are neutral, non-marking, uplifting and bright ones.
- Orange. It not only improves appetite, but also improves mood, promotes quick awakening and sets you up for a positive. A kitchen with windows to the sunny side will become cozier with a sofa of this color. It can be an accent, or it can be part of the overall composition, if the facades on the headset cabinets and the countertop are of the same color.
- Beige... Sofas with this upholstery are the most popular model on the market. They are suitable for any interior. It has many shades, and if desired, everyone will find their own.
- Baked milk color... It resembles a light yellow hue. With its help, they create an interior with a reference to a bygone era or focus on the free style. It looks elegant against the background of items and elements of chocolate or black color.
It is better to put a table for it with finishing in the same color scheme or marbled.
- Ivory. A sofa of this tone will complement the interior, made in a vintage style, in which country elements are present. The effect of completeness can be achieved by installing chairs with the same upholstery, if the kitchen can accommodate them without sacrificing free space.
- Light brown... Such a sofa is chosen by people who prefer to invest in design and not think about repairs for many years.
- White. It's deep but impractical. If it is used in decoration, household appliances or other furniture, then the kitchen will become visually larger, the illusion of depth of space will be formed. Snow-white has a calming effect on a person, and bright accessories will slightly dilute this idyll, but without fanaticism.
- Blue. A sofa of a similar shade is used in interiors in a nautical style. This color has many fans, but sometimes it is played wrong.Cornflower varieties look elegant against the background of a light wood frame, and darker ones emphasize with snow-white details. Blue is combined with orange, yellow. So that it does not merge with the rest of the furniture in the twilight, it is better to put such a sofa by the window.
- Gray... If the kitchen has metal or chrome elements, then the gray sofa will fit harmoniously into it, becoming a charismatic accent. The color of the upholstery can be dark, graphite or light gray, and accessories in an ocher or camel shade will complement it.
- Green. The green sofa does not always fit into the kitchen design: it is not easy to find the right tone. Dark shades are depressing, but light green, mint, turquoise, olive will be just right: they are more positive. But it is difficult to buy a sofa in such a color scheme in a store. There are two ways to solve the problem: to order its production at a furniture factory according to your sketches, or to buy a removable sofa cover.
