It is impossible to imagine the preparation of confectionery without the final stage: decorating the product with cream. Otherwise, even the most delicious treat will lose out to a treat that is more impressively decorated, but, possibly, much less tasty.

Decorating with a pastry bag

The variety of patterns, drawings, cream compositions is limited only by imagination. For these purposes, there are special confectionery accessories: a pastry bag and attachments for it. You can buy them in a specialized store or online store.

There are situations when such a set for decorating with cream is urgently needed, but there is no desire or opportunity to purchase it. In such cases, you can do it yourself. This kit will be disposable. Probably, for the first time when making it, the hostess may not have enough skill, and small details will not be very neatly cut, but such a structure will quite adequately replace a factory product.

For a simple pattern, the piping bag itself can be used. It is very easy to make it, especially since it will take only a few minutes to work. The piping bag can be replaced with a simple grocery bag.

For these purposes, it is better to use stronger freezer bags.

To decorate a treat, you just need to cut off a corner from the bag and fill a pastry bag with cream. The larger the corner is cut, the thicker the pattern will be. To get a thin line, you need to cut off a very small hole. A pastry bag from a stationery file will turn out to be very durable. Making it is simple:

  • cut the file diagonally;
  • the resulting triangle should be put on some kind of fabric;
  • cover the top with a sheet of parchment paper and gently iron along the edge of the triangle.

When gluing the two parts of the file, you will get the necessary shape of the bag, which must be filled with cream. Then you should cut off a small corner from the bag and, by pressing on it, you can decorate with sweets with cream.

Parchment product

Using a cornet made of parchment paper, you can not only make an inscription on the dessert, but also apply small graceful curls to the surface of the cake. To make a cornet, you need:

  • take a small piece of parchment paper;
  • cut a triangle out of it;
  • roll the paper into a cone;
  • secure the edges by bending them inward.

After that, the cornet should be filled with cream, cream or icing. The tip of the cone must be cut off. The product is ready to decorate your favorite dessert.

Making nozzles

For more complex decorations, you will need special homemade piping bag attachments. It's easy to make them with your own hands. All kinds of lids, lids from bottles for water or juice, holders for candles, lids for baby bottles can serve as a material. Even well-rinsed parts of nasal drop bottles are suitable for these purposes. Tin can nozzles are very popular.

The advantage of making do-it-yourself nozzles for a pastry bag is cost-effectiveness. Most of the materials necessary for this are almost always at hand for every housewife. In addition, the products are usually disposable, which will save you sweat from prolonged washing.

Having made them with your own hands and at the same time spending a minimum of funds, you will surprise guests with your imagination and ingenuity.

Made of plastic

Plastic lids are a convenient material for making a nozzle for applying a cream, but they are inferior to objects from a can, because the options for cream patterns obtained from them are much less than can be obtained from a tin nozzle. In the plastic cover, one or more holes should be punctured with a well-heated needle. Any other clean piercing object can be used. Thanks to the peculiar spout obtained after piercing, the cream is applied to the cake with a neat thin line. This option is more suitable for writing congratulatory words or for applying subtle patterns to confectionery.

From a tin can

The most convenient material for making different types of attachments at home is a tin can. For work, take:

  • a tin can from a non-alcoholic drink;
  • scissors;
  • Scotch.

Phased execution:

  • take a tin and with scissors cut a 7x7 cm square;
  • fold the resulting square in the form of a cone and fix it with tape;
  • cut off the tip of the nozzle, taking into account the size of the applied pattern;
  • cut a small corner in a plastic bag for storing food and insert the finished attachment;
  • fix the product with tape.

Now you can start decorating the cake. This nozzle is best used to write congratulatory words on the cake. It is also suitable for simple patterns that do not require special skill.

Tulip nozzle

For such a product, wide tin covers or a metal stand for a candle are more suitable. The algorithm of actions is as follows:

  • make a thin hole 2-3 mm in diameter in the center of the lid;
  • make small holes around the center circle;
  • to obtain tulip petals, you need to cut out several arcs with a linoleum knife, the arc should resemble a thin crescent, the sharp corners are directed to the center.

There are even more complicated variations of the tulip model, but they require some skill and accuracy in cutting. In the sophisticated version of the tulip nozzle, the petals are cut out in small zigzags and are not facing the center, but outward. This option is called velvet tulip.It is especially important that the cutting tool is very sharp in order to provide an even and neat outline of the desired parts. And also from the covers you can cut all kinds of shapes: stars, crescent, snowflake, heart, semicircle and other figures for which there is enough imagination.

For the construction of the nozzle would need:

  • take a cone made from a tin can and cut off its end diagonally;
  • then one side of the cut should be slightly straightened with your hands or with the help of pliers, and the other should be left narrow;
  • The cone is put on a pastry bag filled with cream, and the cream is squeezed out with smooth movements, forming rose petals.

For more abstract designs, you can cut the end of the cone diagonally with small teeth. You will get a relief pattern, the depth of which depends on the size of the teeth.
