Varieties of the form of pilots
Back in 1923, the Soviet government decided to organize the Civil Aviation Council. It was in such a simple way in the USSR that the air fleet began its long history, the main goal of which was the fast air transportation of various cargoes, urgent mail, as well as passengers. The very first passenger route was the line laid from the capital of the state to the city of Nizhny Novgorod; it had a length of about 420 km.
In the 1930s, a special flag first appeared in the young Soviet country to distinguish civil aviation from military aviation. A separate uniform and original insignia were also introduced for all kinds of air personnel - from the pilot to those who work in the ground services.
Uniform
The uniform of the Russian pilot can be either an output sample or intended for normal everyday wear. It is also necessarily divided into an option for the summer and a set for use in the cold seasons of the year.
A standard set of uniforms for summer socks will include:
- headdress (special cap);
- comfortable outerwear (summer coat and raincoat);
- special costume;
- a special jacket in the form of a shirt;
- comfortable black boots.
A set of uniforms for winter includes:
- insulated hat with earflaps;
- warm uniform cap;
- comfortable winter coat (in the form of a military overcoat);
- woolen stylish suit;
- shirt jacket with a uniform tie;
- insulated boots.
Civil Aviation
Personnel related to the civil type of aviation, when performing their direct duties during service under the regulations, must be equipped only in the form specified by law.
The first uniform for civilian pilots in Russia appeared back in 1929, and in 1935 the first insignia in the form of stripes located on the sleeves were introduced.
This patch system is still used in aviation today. By the way, the civil aviation fleet is distinguished by multiple borrowings from sailors - for example, a stylish wreath of laurel leaves for the emblem of hats.
Today in the Russian civil aviation is absent uniform type of uniform for pilots, at the same time, many domestic airlines still use the tradition of borrowing the color of the uniform from the officers of the navy, which is why in most cases it is blue.
In addition to the above uniforms, Russian pilots can also wear the following items.
- Blue or white wool jacket (the product has a straight cut, fastens with 3 large buttons).
- Blue wool trousers (white can be used) must have a strict classic cut, they can have 2 side and 1 back pocket.
- Shirt - should be practically snow-white and have a loose fit. Usually such products are produced with a wide belt with a comfortable elastic band, with a stand-up collar, with convenient pockets on the chest and small shoulder straps. Buttons, as a rule, are smooth, matched to the color of a snow-white shirt.
- Blue sweater wool should be a little loose - and this is really important. It differs from conventional models by the presence of a cutout for a tie, has a belt and cuffs with a wide elastic band, a small patch pocket on the chest, special shoulder pads (they are also on the elbows) and shoulder straps to match the color of the product.
- Stylish jacket with durable zip will also differ in a rather wide belt, have a stand-up collar, small patch-type pockets on the chest, slit side pockets and shoulder straps.
- Coat for winter should be dark blue, always straight cut. There should be a warm collar that can be unfastened. There will also be a high-quality fur insulation in the model. The product must necessarily have 2 small slot-type pockets on the sides.
- Off-season jacket it is also usually blue in color and has a loose fit. The fabric must be water-repellent. Such a jacket is fastened with a high-quality zipper, has shoulder straps and a beautiful standing turn-down collar, 2 pockets with a zipper on the side, a heater that is fastened to the jacket as needed, and a warm hood - always with fur.
- Blue cloak with a water-repellent effect, with shoulder straps, a standing turn-down collar. The cloak is fastened with buttons. Straight cut black leather raglan should also have a stand-up collar, internal closure, pockets with special flaps on the sides and a wide belt.
- Shoes black colors and only classic style are selected, and, of course, according to the season. With white uniform trousers, according to the regulations, you can wear white shoes.
The description also contains additional accessories to the uniform: a dark blue strict tie or a black product, black comfortable gloves, a snow-white comforter made of wool in winter or silk in summer.
Military aviation
It has always been extremely important for the conquerors of the domestic firmament that their uniforms do not impede body movements during flight, not blown by the cold wind, and qualitatively repel any possible moisture. That is why a special regulation was developed, thanks to which military pilots were offered comfortable and high-quality uniforms.
Military aviation personnel are equipped with 3 modern uniforms.
- Field... This is the main type of ammunition for privates, as well as sergeants and officers. Recommended for everyday wear in any difficult conditions.
- Front... It is used to take part in various ceremonial parades, festive events, as well as during parades.
- Office... This type of uniform was also included in the mandatory list of ammunition for officers, senior generals and a number of civilian employees of the Ministry of Defense.
Modern military uniform for every day
The blue uniform of a modern Russian military pilot should be comfortable to wear and practical. It is most often produced from the most durable materials that have the best characteristics.
Tunics, trousers and other things practically do not wrinkle, they are easily and quickly washed and at the same time are perfectly ironed.
The uniform of ordinary pilots and young cadets
The uniform set contains things of predominantly blue colors. The list includes:
- high-type lace-up boots;
- special costume;
- snow-white T-shirt;
- black socks;
- field type of flight cap.
Form for winter:
- camouflage jacket;
- pants;
- T-shirt;
- insulated coat (overcoat);
- protective coloring of the muffler;
- warm winter hat;
- comfortable gloves.
This equipment must be worn by pilots with a black leather belt.
Officer uniform
Military pilot-officers in the summer use blue shirts, dark blue uniform trousers and dark blue military tunics, special caps, black comfortable boots. The military uniform should be worn with a special tie, which is fixed with a gilded fastening - it depicts the emblem of the branch of the military.
Dress suits
The uniform of military pilots for taking part in various parades allows the inhabitants to form a positive image of a modern military man. This moment was clearly taken into account in the process of creating new flight equipment. On the front page, the dressed pilots look imposing and stern, they look really more masculine.
The parade uniform of the cadets will differ from the outfit for every day in a special cut and the presence of more decor. In order to sew it, materials of the best quality are chosen, most often 100% wool. The shirt of an ordinary pilot, as a rule, is of a special khaki, but the tunic and trousers should be blue.
In winter, the cadet pilots go to the solemn parade in special coats, warm mufflers, and black comfortable gloves made of genuine leather. Depending on the weather, their heads may have earflaps, as well as caps or berets.
Caps
The pilot's cap consists of several parts - a solid bottom, a rounded crown, a high band and a shiny black visor. The first 3 elements have a dark blue color, along the edges of the bottom and along the top of the rim there are bluish edging. A rep dark blue ribbon must be worn on the band. Above the visor, a special gold-colored braided lace is fastened with 2 small buttons.
- Peaked cap with removable cover It is distinguished by a special crown, which is covered with a snow-white durable lining and on which a removable pure white cotton cover is pulled.
- Winter cap consists of a band of black fur, a cap, as well as a crown, a visor and a special back cap. Most of the elements in this headdress are made of black leather. The back piece, like the headphones, at any time, if necessary, can be lowered and fastened neatly under the pilot's chin.
In the very center of the band, the flight cap is decorated with a special cockade... This is a stylized image of the aviation emblem. At the same time, modern cockades are very different (embroidered emblems are most valued in our country).On the crown, above the emblem of aviation, a small aviation emblem can sometimes be placed - in the form of open wings that cross with a propeller with two blades. The asterisk located above these wings speaks eloquently about the Soviet history of the cap of modern aviators.
Above the visor, the product is always complemented by a small braided cord - golden for officers and a very simple leather strap for the rest of the flight crew. Also on the visor itself on the outer edges you can often see the so-called oaks (or they are also called "glide slopes"), which depict a wreath of one-size leaves.
All military pilots receive caps at once, along with the uniform they are given to their hands, but not all of them are eager to wear what they were once given, even if it was free. That is why many pilots sew their uniforms to order in special forage shops - this was the case in Soviet times, and it remains so today.
What do shoulder straps mean?
The uniform of the pilots has repeatedly undergone many all kinds of innovations, from time to time new improved insignia were introduced, which had to fully correspond to a specific rank.
To denote "who is who in aviation", braids with golden or silver colors of a certain width were used on shoulder straps - they could be either wide or medium, and even narrow.
After the collapse of the Soviet country, a uniform uniform for pilots actually ceased to exist. A large number of commercial (private) airlines appeared in the country, which began to order uniforms for all their employees where they themselves wanted, since there are no longer any special regulations on the wearing and type of equipment, and in particular on insignia.
It was in the sea passenger fleet for the first time in history that 4 "captain's" stripes and 3 "first mate" stripes were born - most often they are placed on the sleeves, but sometimes they can also be placed on the officer's shoulder straps. In this regard, pilots also adhere to similar differences in the number of stripes on shoulder straps.
Almost all Russian airlines in our time began to adhere to such insignia as galloons - these are visible stripes on shoulder straps. They are usually silver in color for ground personnel, and gold in color for flight personnel.
The commander of an airplane is almost the captain of a floating ship, since we already know that ships can be not only in the form of ships, but also in the form of an airplane, and many insignia came to the aviation from the fleet... For the aircraft commander, in this case, 4 stripes on the sleeves of the suit and 4 noticeable braids on the shoulder straps are required. It is also worth noting right away that they should all have a gold color.
Next, in terms of rank importance, the co-pilot follows the aircraft commander, and there are already 3 braids on his uniform. The same number of stripes will be on the shoulder straps of the onboard engineer.
2 stripes are present on the uniform of onboard conductors, and in addition, cadets from flight schools who have already made at least 1 independent flight. Only 1 modest stripe will crown the shoulder straps of those cadets or those students of flight crew courses who are still undergoing intensive training for flights and never flew on their own.
