Many manufacturers offer a wide range of alpine skis, but not every well-known brand was chosen for the athletes for the World Cup. This privilege was awarded to the high-quality products of the Head brand, which provides its consumers with premium high-quality goods. Her collections include alpine skis that are perfect for professional athletes and help win.

History

Head is an Austrian manufacturer of sports equipment in various fields. In addition to Head skiing, the most popular product of this brand is tennis equipment. The dizzying success of the brand directly depends on the history of its appearance, which is considered one of the most interesting in comparison with other sports brands. The company began its history in 1947, and its founder was a resident of Philadelphia named Howard Head. He was a Harvard student who initially saw himself as a writer, but in his sophomore year he opted for a technical direction and soon took a job as an engineer.

He found his calling at the Stowe Mountain resort, where he first skied down a snowy mountain downhill, and there he failed, although he had a lot of fun. Despite the fact that Howard Head had no skiing experience, he blamed the failure on the design of the equipment, which, according to the engineer, was completely unsuitable for a casual pastime on the slope. Back then, skis were heavy and uncomfortable, so skill and years of experience were needed to handle them.

As a result, Howard decided to design for himself the "perfect skis" that would allow him to enjoy the ski resort without setbacks. The design was based on the "sandwich" method, which he borrowed from the aviation industry. It was based on wood and metal, which were held together by means of a waterproof glue developed in wartime.

After creating a successful prototype, Howard Head was fortunate enough to win a large sum of money while playing poker, which he immediately invested in the development of alpine skiing, founding a company called the Head Ski Company in Maryland. The revolutionary method of manufacturing comfortable lightweight skis, which made it much easier for athletes to maneuver on the track, became the beginning of the high demand and worldwide recognition of the brand.

The company currently includes three previously independent companies - American, Austrian and Italian. The main headquarters is located in the Netherlands.

Advantages and disadvantages

The main advantage of Head alpine skis over other manufacturers is their revolutionary nature at the time of the brand's creation. Due to the fact that the company was one of the first to start production of metal-wood equipment for downhill skiing, it was easier for it to keep the demand of buyers through new developments, while other companies were just setting up production, trying to catch up with their main competitor.

Head is now a leading manufacturer of premium professional sports equipment. The products of this brand have been used in international competitions by such famous athletes as Axel Lund Svindal, Ivan Malakhov, Anna Veit, Kjetil Jansrud, Ted Ligeti, Lindsay Vonn and many others.

Advantages of Alpine Skiing Head quite a bit of.

  • The weight... Thanks to modern materials, the manufacturer offers its customers models that are quite easy to maneuver, which help to successfully overcome even the most difficult tracks, while not reducing speed.
  • Reduced vibration. Descending on a hilly slope will not cause much discomfort due to the reduction of vibration of the toe during skiing.
  • High quality. The company uses only premium raw materials for the manufacture of alpine skis, thanks to which the product is durable and easily transfers pressure and physical stress to equipment.
  • Less snow adhesion. New technologies make it possible to achieve such a smoothness of the ski surface, at which the process of snow adhesion is reduced, thereby allowing the athlete to enjoy skiing without slowing down due to external problems.
  • Modern and user-friendly design. The manufacturer offers a wide range of skis, which differ not only in characteristics that are optimal for an amateur or athlete, but also in appearance. The ergonomic shape combines the ideal dimensions for a comfortable downhill descent and a beautiful, unobtrusive design.
  • Reliability and durability. Sports equipment mounts are rigorously monitored and tested to ensure maximum durability and protection for the athlete during extreme descents at high speeds.

The main disadvantage of Alpine skiing Head may be at a high price, which can make the purchase unaffordable for many consumers who want to experience all the delights of this company's professional inventory.

And also one of the disadvantages for many athletes can be the periodic withdrawal from production of outdated models with inherent positive qualities, which modern models are deprived of.
